Restaurant was sparsely decorated and furnished but the food here was pretty tasty and generously portioned. I ordered chicken mole, which came with a ton of fresh tortillas, and a questionable looking sauce… but it was yumsville! I will probably go back to try the tamales next time!

I eat here a few times/week. Usually carry-out. The atmosphere is nice, and the food is delicious. I order the tamales almost every time. Highly recommend.

First, this restaurant no longer offers burgers of pizza. They’re 100% Yucanteco food now. This hole-in-the-wall is the«real deal». If you want fast, tasty, authentic Yucatecan food, drop by and order some panuchos and salbutes. But be ready for a serious ethnic experience: little on the menu is explained, the staff don’t speak English, and the décor is … well, «authentic». On the other hand, all the street food items are $ 2 or $ 3 each, and very, very tasty. If you just come here and order tacos, you’re really missing out; many of the things on the menu here aren’t available but one other place in the city. Here’s some definitions: empenada: masa folded over a filling and fried, sort of a fried corn quesadilla panucho: masa stuffed with black beans and fried, then topped with stuff. salbut: thicker, sweeter masa made into a thick tortilla and fried, then topped with stuff. tamale: like what you know, only steamed in banana leaves pibil: slow-cooked pork poc-chuc: marinated pork cutlets Not vegetarian-friendly though, everything has meat or lard in it. Take-out orders come with everything(including hot sauce) in little baggies, so be prepared for a mess. Oh, and **no burritos.**

The menu at this place has changed and they no longer offer the weird pizza/burgers options. They have a small menu of very delicious, homemade authentic mexican food. I ordered a tamale, a taco, a empanada, and a sope. All were insanely good. They only charged me $ 10, even though on the menu they were $ 3 each. They came wrapped in foil with little baggies of homemade habanero spicy salsa, tomato mild salsa, and pickled onions with cabbage. The chicken used was real with bones in there, which might have bothered me if the food wasn’t so frigging delicious. The taco was pretty huge and stuffed with meat, with a thick homemade tortilla. I got the cheese empanada which was simultaneously crispy and chewy. The tamale was heaven. The corn portion was so smooth it almost seemed like pasta, and the filling so flavorful. Even the banana leaf was gorgeously steamed. The sope was made with a tortilla filled with black bean purée, and had lashings of roasted chicken, different veggies, including a big chunk of avocado. This is all food prepared with love. If you aren’t veggie and live/work in the area, you must try this place!!!

The panuchos are amazing and the big ol’ tamales are some of the best I’ve ever had. The habanero salsa will leave your mouth burning good for an hour. The best part is that you can eat like a king for $ 5.

DELIVERY! Found this place on Eat24Hours… really great! Loved their super taco(mmmm) price is also decent. HOWEVER…one star off because we ordered super taco a second night(obsessed with this place) and they forgot the avocado/sour cream on the ENTIRE order. Boo. Thankfully, Eat24Hours gave us credit back. Sad about this, don’t order from here as much :(

The food from this restaurant is very much in the eye of the beholder. I can see how some people would love it and others might not. I’ll try to describe it so you can decide for yourself. For decades ‘ve traveled all over the Mexican states of Quntana Roo and Yucatan. Yucatan Mexican food is very close to its Mayan roots. Its my favorite and I know it very well. The food could be described as «budget authentic». Prices are very low, as is the sophistication. Actually it is generally so authentic that it may not suit the palates of some San Franciscans used to splash and flair masquerading as authentic and humble food. The white corn tortillas have the rough edges and irregularity of something hand pressed this morning by a little old lady. They have a stony earthy texture and taste. The«salsa» was closer to pico de gallo Simply some diced tomatoes, onions and a pinch of cilantro, dumped into a plastic sandwich bag(I had delivery). Very plain. The tacos were very basic but generous. Some diced meat, veggies, guacamole. Some might call it bland, others would call it subtle and satisfying. The chicken pibil was a real puzzle. Pibil is my all-time favorite. I’ve had nearly every variation of it Mexico can offer. What was served up by CY had no resemblance to Pibil whatsoever. it was a chicken drumstick sitting in a soup. Could they have served me the wrong thing? That aside, it was a hearty chicken soup with good flavor. All in all, this is the hearty basic food you would find in a little hole-in-the-wall restaurant in one of the dusty towns on the road to Isla Holbox, frequented by the faithful locals who know they can get something decent to eat for not a lot of money. You might love it, or you might find the romance of the idea is more appetizing the the actuality of it. It will depend on your tastes.

We ordered burritos for delivery and they were so bad we ended up throwing them out.(I’ve never thrown out a burrito before.)

Been ordering from this place occasionally for the past year. I’m from Mexico City originally. Been here since I was 9, I’m now 41. I love this place. I always order the same thing, and it’s always awesome, grubby, generous. And friendly and always on time. Haven’t ordered burgers or whatnot, but why would you? I’m sure they’re good but give me Pollo Pibil, beans, and those beautiful tortillas, that always last for my breakfast huevos and salsa. Awesome!

So Delicious! Very friendly staff and service. The tamales — all three types — are fantastic and so are the Panuchos and Salibutes. Get the shredded beef of those — the chicken is not as good.(People say the pork is as good or better than the beef, but I don’t eat pork so I can’t vouch for that.) Super veggie burritos are also very good. You can get this food delivered by calling or using a few different online services(GrubHub, Seamless, Eat24Hours…) and the delivery is always prompt.

So this is pretty much one of the only options for a delivered burrito, and I guess its a serviceable one although not optimal by any means. First, the«meh» stuff – the pork used in the pork burrito was just bad. It had so much fat I could barely get a real chunk of pork; I know how pork works, I expect a little fat here and there, but comeon, this is like what I would trim off and feed to my dog. It was pretty damn bad. And the burritos came with lettuce even though I said to not put it on there, which of course doesnt really mesh well with a hot, grilled burrito. The shredded beef on the other hand was pretty decent, and the rest of the burrito is OK – certainly not on your average taqueria level but about as good as Chipotle, and cheaper. The salsa is OK, the guac is OK, the rice is OK, you get the idea. And it is big, which is nice I’d probably give this place two stars because the one thing you really cant screw up in a burrito is meat, but since there’s at least one decent option and they deliver(did I say they deliver? they deliver, and it’s free, and delivered, like to your door) they get three.

This place is pretty bomb. Of course I do live right across the street from it, but how picky can you get? The few that work there are always very nice. I’ve been in twice so far and I feel they already know who I am. I have tried a few of there items including the tacos, tamales and burritos, and I must say the burritos are the winner. They’re huge and delicious. Full of rice, beans, chicken, beef, or pork, lettuce, sour cream, avo, cheese, and only around 5 bucks. Can’t beat that. The tacos are killer too, very authentic, just the tortilla, meat and and some spices, cilantro, you know the deal. They have this killer green salsa that I seem to never get enough of, but its so good. I must say the tamales are a little lacking. just not to my preference, but that could’ve been a fluke that night. No the downsides: Don’t use the bathroom. Its kind of like a little door in the place that lead down a stairway into a dungeon thru a hallway, yadda yadda. Just don’t bother with it. And sometimes they have quinceneras and parties there every once and a while so you may not get in on a Sunday. Overall I love the place, its cheap, fast, and they have a rather large menu. I haven’t even tried the pizza, burgers, or fish and chips. But when you’re at an authentic mexican joint, why do you order pizza anyway? Philistines! Highly recommended.

It’s in the middle of the TL, everything is cheap and actually delicious and they even have things most take-out Mexican joints in the city don’t have, like panuchos and empanadas. I was seriously fooled by the abandoned look of the restaurant and the kitchen, but somehow they turn out pretty great stuff. Oh and, who in their right mind would get pizza and burgers here? They’re not even factoring into my rating here!

Oh comida yucatan, how many times have you saved the lives of me and my starved san francisco roommates on a hungover lazy Sunday afternoon? super cheap prices, no weird delivery restrictions like how thai places won’t deliver til after 5 on a Sunday, food is great and hasn’t been dipped in grease and they’re very friendly on the phone. I’ve never been to the physical location because I’d probably never eat their food again but honestly, everything from the cheeseburger to the burrito to the salads are great.

Obviously, for $ 2.75 a piece, I ordered everything on the menu. They seem famous for the yucatan pork so I was really excited by that, but it was actually the most disappointing meat of the meal. Still, good, but not the best part. Holy crap, though, I LOVED the chicken empanada. Order all of them if you can. Just call the restaurant and say, «Every chicken empanada you have!» Seriously. So good. Shredded beef panucho– Also super delicious. You don’t have to order all of them, but get a few.

This is a review of food delivered from Comida Yucatan. This was basic decent Mexican food. Definitely nothing that will stand out. But if you are in the neighborhood or want delivery, you will not go hungry and it is pretty tasty. Super burrito with chicken — your basic kitchen sink burrito. i requested no lettuce but they still put lettuce on it. i still enjoyed it. Taco with chicken — this was a better than average taco. once again, relatively kitchen sink. but it all came together quite well. if i ever have food from here again, this is what i will order. Delivery was prompt and polite.

awesomeeeee pork panuchos on homemade corn tortillas and handmade empanadas. I would stick with the mexican dishes to try what they do best. Bonus: They deliver… which is AWESOME for people who work late…

it’s funny how all of the bad reviewers ate the american or americanized mexican food. Why anyone would go to a place with the name Yucatan in the name and order pizza is beyond me and shows their lack of critical thinking skills(to say the very least). I can only assume these are the same kids who made non-ironic fart jokes when they were in school and order jäger bombs chased with long island ice teas at bars *shudder*. That being said, I’ve only ordered the Yucatan apps, but all were amazing. The tacos were decent, but it’s tough to beat La Palma or Don Pisto’s for tacos in this city. I’ve had the Panuchos, Salibutes, Enpanadas, tamales and tacos. All were awesome, but I think the first three rock. If you’re given the choice to get their Poc Chuc with any of the items I mentioned I highly reccomend it ’cause that pork explodes with flavor. the only negative about this place is I’ve only done delivery and their $ 12 minimum is tough to fill up with $ 2-$ 3 plates. Not a tough problem to have if you ask me. So yeah, if you ordered pizza or fish sticks from a Yucatan place offering what appears to be traditional food from the Yucatan, then you deserve to have a bad experience. Shame on you for being an idiot.

What a surprise! $ 2TACOSTOMURDERFOR!(And this is the neighborhood to do it.) Drive by this all the time, and just the whole Yucatan AND Pizza AND Burgers(immediately makes me think they don’t do anything well). But they are just a restaurant stayin alive in the city — they’re main pull is the Yucatan food — in the whole we were there we saw not one burger or one pizza. Tacos are made on BIGGG handmade tortillas while you wait. The carnitas, chicken and cochinita tacos are not only fabulous but CHEAP(I had a mansize appetite and three of those $ 2 tacos had me on the floor). We’ve also tried Poc Chuc and Pollo Pivil, which is like a chicken stew, very good if you were sick. Empanadas are also beyond anything I’ve ever had called an empanada. I wanted sour cream on it thought but you have to ask as that’s not typico. So the neighborhood’s not Beverly Hills? Tortas are fine but I think weren’t up to par with the other places. Thank god for the net, I would NEVER have tried this place if I didn’t see something on ba. food that directed me to sfgate which then made me check it out on Unilocal. It’s the ultimate little divey experience. And such a great breakout from the taqueria track.
