It’s closed down. The sign on the door says they have locations in Oakland and Richmond.

Sooooo indeed I tip my hat to the Broker for making clothes for us plus-sized folks who have never seen the inside of a GAP before. They do have some crazy stuff which I would never touch, but when it come to dress clothes(well.church clothes really) then I wouldn’t go to no other place. They have a good variety of long sleeve button-up shirts in different colors. I never buy pants their b/c they’re hella expensive and the material will rip after the 1dt time yu wear em and you try to sit down. Though most of the shoes are pretty funky looking, you’ll actually find a decent colored pair to show up and show out in when you feeling like lookin reaaaaal spiffy on Sunday. I really do have a problem though with their tie selection. I LOVE ties, and it can be crazy with a series of designs or just a solid colored. But most of their ties are HIDEOUS. Plus they have all these funky deisgns, and never stock any ties that are just a nice plain/solid color. I usually buy my shirt from there and head to Burlington’s though to complete the ensemble. so 3 stars! All for being able to cater to the Samoan crowd! hahahaha

Wow, what an unusual store. FYI, it’s set back off the street in what looks like a warehouse from the road. The clothes are men’s only, largely synthetic, generally rather loud, and in all sizes, especially big and tall.(Their jeans go up to a sixty-inch waist.) They have suits in all styles and colors. They have the world’s craziest shoe section, which I can only describe as the dress shoes NBA players were wearing a year or two ago. For example, some pairs were made of black patent leather, and pointy, with a varying colors of velvet stripes down the middle. Others looked like they were made of chrome. This would be a good place to look for a Burning Man costume.

Ok. so, I am going to be the first to review the Clothing Broker… huh? So be it! I am soooooo going to keep it real with you. This place is not for bougie folks. But, if you can get a little grimy, you will LOVE the Clothing Broker! My son needed a suit the DAYBEFOREEASTER. I didn’t have a lot of money to spend on it and he needed to wear it that day. So, out of the blue, I remembered the Clothing Broker. But, it was previously on Alemany and I didn’t know where they were located. I called up my son’s dad because I KNEW he would know(he’s über CHEAP). He told me how to get there and to ask for Eli. So, the kid and I made our way there. FYI…“the kid” is 6 feet tall and 235 lbs(I know, I should package my breastmilk and sell it to puny men!) We, walked in, approached this«suited and booted» brotha, and asked if he was Eli. He immediately corrected us, «ELIJAH» or «E»…not«Eli» My bad(I got the name from my cheap baby’s daddy). Elijah’s irritation with being called Eli never passed. And although he was thoroughly irritated with me the entire time, Elijah found my son a great suit and it was only 100 bucks. After, I paid for the suit, I took it to the back of the store to the Alteration Department and they agreed to have it ready in two hours. I went to Burlington, got my son a shirt and a tie(you can buy all that at the Clothing Broker. But, I needed a break from Elijah being all irritated with me), went back to the Clothing Broker and«viola» the suit was ready. The alterations were only like 12 bucks and they even steamed my son’s shirt from Burlington… very cool. A NOTEFORTHESINGLELADIES: There were soooooo many cutie pies in the store looking for suits. Maybe it was because it was the day before Easter and Easter is one of those Holidays that everyone and their mama goes to church and so they all needed suits. BUT, I was happy that I was there to see all the goodness of the Lord!!! And me and«the kid» have a NEW day before Easter tradition. I really enjoyed our experience at the Clothing Broker. I really enjoyed all the eye candy too. But, they lose one star because Elijah was just a little too sensitive about his name. I am very sorry Elijah or E. But, GETOVERITALREADY!!! We all folks up in here!
