We were fortunate to learn of Skeeter through San Francisco’s Victorian Alliance. Our 1880’s Victorian cottage had been stripped of all interest in a misguided effort of modernization. When Skeeter finished designing and rebuilding our façade, we had a charming, period appropriate Victorian. We are as delighted today each time we come home as we were when the scaffolding came down. Unwilling to let Skeeter go, we asked him to work his magic on our stripped down dining room. He did, including designing, building and installing a beautiful cherrywood fireplace, reflecting the style of the original fireplaces in the parlors. Several years later, Skeeter returned our plain, uninteresting bedroom and hallway back to what he imagined to be their original designs. Another benefit of Skeeter’s is that he is very cost conscious.
We highly recommend Skeeter for his design, attention to detail and craftsmanship. He was also pleasant to have around in our home where we remained during all the renovation work.

Skeeter was recommended to us by our real estate agent after we bought our home in San Francisco. To say that our 1889 home was a fixer upper would have been kind. The house was destroyed — the gingerbread façade gone, replaced by asbestos tile and aluminum windows. The interior of what was once a single family home was cut up into three units. All that remained of its former glory were it’s fantastic old growth redwood beams and killer views. We worked with Skeeter for just over two years to restore the house, inside and out, and what we were left with was a work of art. A new façade, a new interior, all of which reflected the elegance and beauty of 1889.
Skeeter has an excellent sense of design steeped in respect for the past and the skill it involved. His execution with wood is flawless, carving intricate pieces by hand. We would recommend him unconditionally for both design and build. Not only is he the best Victorian restorer in the business, he is also an all around great guy. You can’t go wrong.
