Ginny Prior at City Life Landscaping helped with the reconstruction of my garden when I bought my house in Forest Hill in the early 90’s. She listened well to my requests and created a new and very lovely design for the garden that has stood the test of time. Her crew was very professional and they did well with both the hardscape implementation — built gorgeous stone walls — and the plants. Ginny is a pleasure to work with and I would be very happy to hire her again.

We first hired Ginny to redo our back yard in San Mateo. It was a HUGE lawn with a tiny border around it… I wanted no lawn, lots of flower beds and I didn’t want it to look like a cement garden with flowers. Ginny designed the whole yard with old bricks layed in sand so cost effective and beautiful curved flower beds, the design is amazing. Her knowledge of what to plant is also amazing, everything has grown and florished. We called her back to then light the yard, not wanting it too look like a landing strip for the airport! Again, the lights are beautiful, subtle and in the proper places. My garden is fabulous for day and evening parties! We then hired her, recently, a third time to redo the front garden. She again gave me a curved lawn with flowering beds, a rock wall flowerbed in front of my porch and two beautiful arbors with flowering roses… neighbors say I have the best yard in the neighborhood.
I’d recommend her without a second thought, only wish I had another area for her to design!

City Life has been taking care of us for more than 20 years – both our Homeowners Association and us, personally. Owner, Ginny Prior has a terrific knowledge of plants (botanical names and common names for us dummies) which are suitable for our Bay Area climate. She has wonderful design ideas and, also, a good awareness of budget requirements. She and her crew are very productive workers and provide excellent value, whatever the task. I would highly recommend her company to anyone (and I have) without reservation.

Ginny Prior runs this little business, and I am shocked I’m the first to review City Life Landscaping! Ginny is a «tiny» woman with sparkly blue eyes, an impish quality, and incredible strength. I have a very big yard on a hill, and she terraced it, decked it, lit it, and did the first planting. It waters itself, and Ginny calls (and comes by if you want her) to tell you when to turn the water on and off, when to feed and when to seed.
Ginny knows a lot about a lot of things (so she’s fun to talk to when she come to visit your yard; ask her about anything), and as far as landscaping goes, Ginny’s knowledge base and skills are off the charts. While this might sound hyperbolic, there is no exaggeration here. Call Ginny and you’ll see for yourself that she’s pretty darn perfect.
