–DING! remembered i had a CC deposit to make. why not here?
noticed only 1 person sitting at a desk, he must be the teller.
(no teller’s windows in this branch)
took me a minute ur 2 to find my paperwork
–no doubt my prescene left a story for him to tell his associates.
–no parking nearby, just happen to have one a block away…

The reason I’m pissed off at Citibank has everything to do with their corporate policies and nothing to do with the staff at this particular branch. The branch staff have always been very nice, and they’re the reason I’m giving two stars instead of one.
Citibank recently raised the minimum balance requirement in my accounts to $ 6000. Drop below $ 6000, they charge you $ 15 per month. If I had a bad couple of months and landed in the hospital or had an accident with my car, so that I had to dip into my savings, what would Citibank do to help? Charge me $ 15.
$ 15 is not a lot of money, especially if you meet their minimum balance requirement. Of course, if you are going through a bad patch, that $ 15 does become more important, and that’s precisely the time they choose to take it away from you.
They do offer packages with lower minimum balance requirements (although of course, they can always raise those too!). But it’s the principle, or lack thereof, that really bugs me. This bank is chomping at the bit, waiting for people to struggle financially so that it can prey on them and help drive them further into the hole.
I did love how they presented the $ 15 fee as something I could «choose» to pay. They said, on their site, that I could either «choose» to keep more than $ 6000 in my accounts or I could «choose» to pay $ 15 per month. I’m glad they give us options!
So, I’ll be hunting around for a credit union that chooses to not charge people a poor tax. Goodbye, Citibank.

I decided to close my accounts at Citibank after tiring of years of poor customer service and the nickle and dime fees that seem to multiply by the year.
On August 16^th, I closed all my Citibank accounts in person at this branch and received a receipt for the transaction. So, I was surprised to receive a September statement in the mail charging me a service fee and an overdraft charge for an automated payment drawn on the account on September 15. This account was supposed be closed!
When I went back into the branch to complain, it took Christine (the manager on duty) over an hour to figure out what had happened. She agreed that I had in fact closed the account a month earlier but refused to refund the service charge or overdraft charge because Citibank had provided me a service — a service that I did not want and asked them to stop providing!
Do yourself a favor and take your money somewhere else. First Republic is right across the street and their customer service is a breath of fresh air after dealing with the incompetents at Citi, particularly this branch. Even BofA or Wells is a step up.

I use this branch whenever I am in town and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. If there is a line, the non-​teller staff comes over to help those waiting. That’s always a good sign.

I just opened my new business account at this branch and I was so happy with the experience that I’m switching my personal accounts over as well.
I almost skipped citibank because of the previous bad review on Unilocal,but I found out that there’s a new manager so I gave it a try. Maybe that made all the difference because the experience was great. They were really clear about account details, minimum balances to avoid fees, and the other services i might be interested in (without being too pushy). It’s the first time I can remember going into a bank, having someone listen to my specific situation, and give me the pros and cons of multiple options that might work for me. I’m used to banks just trying to force-​feed me the latest CD or loan product they’ve been told to push.
Anyway, it was a refreshing experience, especially in this economy.

This one star is just for this Citibank location. I have dealt with other Citibank with out an issue. I recently had a CD that matured and was informed by the 800 number at Citibank, as well as, the account representative at the 701 Irving branch that I would be be given a 3% APY for seven months. The acccount rep informed me that she couldn’t give me a receipt of this transaction on the spot when I requested it. She would mail it to me. Well, wouldn’t you know, the interest rate stated on the mailed document was 2.75%. Nice bait and switch, folks. After confronting a teller about my plight and threatening to write a letter to the California Attorney General, I closed all of my accounts without penalties. This branch needs to clean house.
