Chittenden David L, MD

I have consulted with Dr. Chittenden on numerous occasions over the last 20 years. He has successfully helped me with my back, shoulder and leg problems. He has also helped my wife with her ankle problem.
Dr Chittenden is very direct in dealing with these issues. You may not always want to hear what he has to say, but his advice is sound. He also was not in a hurry to recommend surgery. In one instance he strongly advised against back surgery in favor of physiotherapy and exercise. Boy am I glad that I followed his advice and avoided surgery. The physiotherapy and the exercise régime worked and I have not had any problems since.
Dr Chittenden is also very thorough. He looks at the total picture before conducting a physical exam. He is genuinely interested in looking for physical and other factors that may be affecting your health.
I highly recommend Dr Chittenden.

As my (unfortunately) chosen QME Evaluator, this doctor Chittenden spent 95% of the time of the appointment talking non sense about irrelevant matters, and checking my (left) neck, shoulder, lower back, and spent the remaining 5% of barely paying attention to what I came for in the first place; my knees. 95% of the time of the appointment was spent talking about his own ailments and his wife’s past surgeries, and giving me pamphlets about neck and back owner’s manuals, as well as advising me on a home neck traction device (which my neurologist strongly advised me against previously). Doctor Chittenden is not a neurologist. I was supposed to be evaluated with regard to the industrial injury to my knees. This has not happened. It strongly seems that this doctor (who did not practice surgery for ages), would side with the insurance companies against the patient’s well being. Beware when choosing a QME specialist (Orthopedist in this case), on the panel sent to you by your insurance company/​Workers Comp. To avoid at all cost. Horrible experience!

I find this doctor unprofessional, cruel and unscrupulous, I went for his
medical opinion in my low back pain, instead he called my private
shoulder doctor, who I never authorized him to talk to, and he told him not to care for me, that everything was in my head.
In his evaluation he wrote that I didn’t have anything in my back, that I was a fake. I didn’t know that this man had a terrible reputation as an
honest doctor, as I been told he is a company doctor and would lie
for them, now I know, but for me is too late, I learned it the hard way, Please anyone outhere that is thinking to go to see this man, please be aware of my terrible experience I give this man a MINUS *5 STAR*
