I met Carla while she was caring for my best friends three (!) pugs. She approached her work with them with such thoughtfulness and love that I decided try her out with my Lab mix (she is the first dog walker I have ever trusted with any of my dogs). My pooch loves her and squeaks with excitement when she comes to pick him up for his walks. She notices little things like his energy level or his mood and gives me updates.
She can handle any situation and is the only non family member I have ever left with my dog when I have been out of town. While I am traveling she knows I miss my pooch so she sends me regular updates with photos.
My dog tired and happy after his time with her. When she stays to care for him she leaves my place clean and tidy. I have worked with her for two years and I trust her completely.

Carla has been taking my barely-​adult Cocker Spaniel on leashed walks through Bernal Heights (usually up to Bernal Hill or Holly Park with her dog or another neighborhood dog) for several months now. Albie is too young and spazzy be in an off-​leash playgroup. When he’s with Carla, I know he’s having a great time but is also safe. And Albie just loves her. Her arrival at our house is always cause for a major celebration. If he could cartwheel around the living room, I believe he would.
Carla is also a great pet sitter. She stayed at our house while we were away and everything went super smoothly with her watching Albie and our cats. She even periodically texted us photos of Albie having fun, to keep us from being those lunatic pet parents who worry about their dog instead of enjoying their vacation.

I’ve used Carefree Pet Sitting service for a year now. I travel a lot and I have peace of mind that Carla will take good care of my cat when I am away. Plus, my cat is no longer mad at me when I come home as he gets very consistent petting and feeding.

I was really nervous about leaving my little shih-​tzu. he’s a very sweet, sensitive little guy (but he can be stubborn like most shih-​tzus!). Anyway, she came over to meet Sam, and I was impressed with the detailed notes that she took. She was super friendly, and put my husband, Sam and I at ease. She’s very approachable and understanding. For the first time, I actually felt comfortable leaving Sam. She also has reasonable rates.
The first morning we were gone, she texted us the cutest photo of Sam, and she let us know what was going on. When we got back home, Sam looked happy and well. For the first time ever, he didn’t have a hot spot on his front paw. He always gets a hot spot on his front paw when we go out of town, but not this time. I can’t tell you how happy we were when he didn’t have a hot spot! That tells me that Sam was well-​taken care of, and happy with Carla’s care.
I totally trust Carla, and we will be asking her to take care of Sam in the future. For the first time, I don’t feel anxious about leaving Sam. Thanks Carla so much for taking great care of Sam!!!

What a find! The day before I am set to go to a wedding across the country, I find out that my brother-​in-​law is going out of town and won’t be able to take care of my dog as planned. STRESS!!! I called a couple dog walkers I had used in the past with no luck and when I came in the house literally in tears, my boyfriend pulled out his computer, checked out Unilocal and was on the phone with Carla 5 minutes later. He got a great vibe from her, friendly, funny, no judging for the last minute nature of our request — she said «I see, you like to live on the edge», and she said she wanted to meet Cody and meet us and would make it work. Note this was at about 6pm and we were leaving on a red eye flight at 11:30pm. We went over to Noe Valley to introduce her to Cody and instantly felt comfortable with her and handed her the keys to our house so she could come get him and take him on walks. She sent me regular texts and said he had a great time on his walks strutting — the word was perfect because it is exactly what my dog does — so I didn’t have to worry for even a minute while I was gone. Instant trust and peace of mind and I know she took great care of my dog because he wasn’t a stress case when I got home– Carla has the business name correct with «Carefree» pet sitting. Thank you, thank you, thank you so much Carla!

Last time we went out of town, we got a video of our cat cuddling with Carla! She’s really taken it to the next level in terms of attending to our little guy’s needs while helping us feel secure knowing he is in good hands.
We were gone during the weekend of the tsunami scare and Carla actually called to find out where the carrier was in case she had to evacuate the city (with our little guy). It was so comforting knowing he would have been in good hands!

Best experience I’ve had so far! I knew this would be a positive experience when my little one immediately took a liking to her. Carla was fabulous and so easy to work with. She has great rapport with animals and I was impressed to see she trained my pup to sit (a task I have repeatedly failed at!!). LOVE that… less for me to do :) Most important thing, no accidents.
Will definitely be using her service again.

Wow! I wouldnt choose anyone else but this service. I needed a last minute arrangement for the holidays and was nervous about trying a new pet service last minute but super glad I did because I got great service and my animals were super happy. Also, I received updates and pictures of my precious animals… so cute and unexpected!
…My house looked exactly like I left it, CLEAN!

I recently contacted Carla when I needed to help my Dad in L.A. with a health issue and my regular dog sitter wasn’t available. It was a last minute situation as my back up wasn’t available either.
