I was really excited that an awesome little coffee shop was open a couple blocks from me in my new neighborhood. But… Today at 8:45am they still weren’t open. I went back at noon and despite door open and people inside was told«We’re closing up». If they managed to get their doors open, I’d be there every day. Lame.

Caffeine Anonymous is definitely an hole in the wall cofffee shop, less than 5 tables in the shop. muffins, and some pastries also available. pour:(L. coffee, 2) -«american’s best» french roast used –very bold, tad harsh. half and half can mellow it out. 3 stars for coffee. drips: –very amicable owner/barrister –parked at broken meter, barrister offered to bring out coffee while i watched for meter readers.

This is a most appropriate name for this under-the-radar coffee spot deep in the Tenderloin on Larkin right above Little Saigon. I barely noticed it out of the corner of my eye on the way to the AMC Van Ness one evening, but I had time for a cup of joe(photo: ). So what the hell? It’s a sparse-looking place with a TV mounted on the wall and a few high-top tables(photo: ). I came about twenty minutes before the shop was apparently closing, but to the young barista’s credit, she made me feel quite welcome even though she was obviously packing up to go. I ordered a Macchiato for around $ 3.25, piping hot but satisfying nonetheless(photo: ). It’s just that I had to keep blowing on it in order to finish it before she locked the door. I wasn’t about to run around the Tenderloin after dark with a to-go cup since I assume that’s that’s the same as wearing a «MUGME» sign on my forehead. Now I’ve tried to come back here a couple of times, but it was closed with no indication when they were open. Maybe that’s part of their Anonymous mystique. I don’t know, but it’s good to have a nice little respite along a stretch of Larkin that’s otherwise notable for its inhospitable ambiance. COFFEE — 4 stars… a rich, piping hot macchiato AMBIANCE — 3 stars… less café, more a kiosk with a few seats SERVICE — 3.5 stars… a friendly barista TOTAL — 4 stars… anonymity may be its defining feature

I’m giving three stars based solely on appearance; it looks cute and clean. I’ve heard good things from a friend so I got it into my head to check it out. HOWEVER I’ve been by three times now and it’s always closed. 1) What kind of coffee place isn’t open Sundays?! 2) If you say you open by 7, then please do. 3) If you say you open by 7, then I would assume you would be open by 8:15. I am indeed a Caffeine Addict and I’m frustrated!

Found this place on our way back from lunch. Absolutely Love it! We will be going again. Great, friendly people, and nice décor. They also use Square for credit card/check cards! Great espresso selection. Not one of those snooty coffee shops, thank goodness, we have enough of those in SF.

Stumbled upon this place on my journey to look for another coffee shop. So glad I found this gem, definitely a haven from the rest of da hood. It’s a brand new shop run by cool people with a cool concept, and I’m excited to see it grow! Got a great double-shot cappuccino for $ 3 and free wi-fi.

Best Latte I’ve had in a long time. Seriously. I was walking through the city in the rain with my laptop… Just like the other review said, it was like this place popped up magically and gave me a nice spot to plug in. Besides that, the shop owner made my delicious latte and is a pretty bad ass dude! Apparently they also have a place out in North Beach. Pretty slick.

I was in dire need of coffee on my way to work. It felt like the skies parted and delivered this place just for me. It was cloudy but a ray of sunshine illuminated this place. Seriously, like in the movies. Of course I had no choice but to try it out. So glad I did a very competent barista was behind the counter. He was super pleasant and friendly. And created an amazing latte. I wish I could have skipped work and hung out, as the ambiance is way cozier than my office.
