I work across the street so choices in this area are very limited. I ordered a steak wrap for the second time and it absolutely was not the same as the first time I ordered it. The steak was over salted and it was lacking flavor. I was really disappointed since the first time it was so delicious. Not sure what happened here if it was a different cook who just lacked the effort in making this a delicious wrap.

Gyro wrap… super yum! No frills quick delicious lunch. Love that they use local organic coffee(mr espresso), and their salads look really good, I’ll need to come back to try. Solid choice!

One of the cheaper, better, and closest restaurant to go to when you’re in jury duty lol

I’ve been here a couple of times and I have yet to be disappointed. It’s super convenient and they are fast and friendly. I always get their baby arugula and beet salad and they have Mr. Espresso so I like that they’re using local coffee. Overall a good lunch or coffee spot

Got called in for jury duty so I was already having a rough morning but what really disappoints me is the fact that on my break I ended up here just to grab a coffee and a bagel but while I was ordering a lady behind the counter who was making the orders dropped a bunch of bagels on the floor near and under the sink next to cleaning supplies and she just picked them up and put them back. So Now a bunch of bagels are possible contaminated. Smh

The worst place you cannot imagine! The staff are rude and the food is very expensive! I order a sandwich. I waited for 20 minutes, and when I asked how long gonna take to make this sandwich ready, they said the forgot to make my sandwich!

I love this place. The coffee is great and it’s very convenient when working in the area. The food for the most part is great. I really enjoys grabbing a bagel breakfast sandwich before heading to work and the tuna melt is fantastic. Very large portions. A little pricey, but you get a huge meal. I ordered the veggie feast for the first time and it was ok. The seasoning was a little overpowering and nothing wanted to stay in the sandwich. The bread got soggy fast within seconds of getting my food. Not sure what happened there. Otherwise, service is great, friendly and quick.

I ordered and there was NO avocado on the chicken avocado sandwich. What a waste of time and money to walk all the way back. Also the salsa they put on it taste like basic grocery salsa. Bleh! The only reason I have them two stars instead of one is because the lettuce, chicken and bread taste fresh.

Came in to grab quick sandwiches, ordered the Med turk, where’s the turk? One slice of meat with grilled red peppers. Not worth it. Go to Ted’s Market and Deli and is 150 percent better. Don’t waste your money here or save it for next door bail bonds

Who is writing these 4 Star reviews for the Café In… Cousins of the Owner? This place is HORRIBLE. Let me tell you what happened. My wife & I had business at the Hall of Justice and since the Café In was right across the street… we thought it would be a convenient place to have lunch. BAD decision. We both decided on the turkey sandwich, grabbed 2 regular sodas from the ice box & went to the cashier to place our order. The cashier said the total would be $ 24& change. Fine. A little pricey but fine. I gave the cashier a $ 50 bill & she put it in the register & gave me the change. I noticed that she didn’t ring it up. I thought: «What’s going on here»? and I asked her for a receipt. She shot me a dirty look & rang up the total… NOT itemized… just the total. We went to the table. Twenty minutes later our order was delivered. Now, imagine this. Imagine that you took ONE slice of bologna out of an Oscar Meyer package & put it on a roll & then put a slice of tomato\e on it & a drizzle of something. That was IT. The sandwich came with what they called salad which was actually a couple of greens with a drizzle of house dressing. You could barely have fit the greens in a demi-tasse cup. I looked around & I noticed that all the sandwiches that I saw were equally skimpy. It was lunchtime & there was only about 9 people in the place. I then realize that they are probably only open when the HOJ is open so they only have so many hours a day in which to rob their customers. DON’T GOTHERE… Just DON’T.

Great little place. Food is really good. Wraps and the breakfast burrito are refreshingly different than the usual variety and very good. Generous portions, too Daily specials are also much better than average and truly«home made.» Ambiance is simple and quite nice. There’s a TV in the main room that plays soccer or usual daytime shoes, but with volume off and subtitles on.(Like it.). Always some«typical» French café music playing. Pleasant and Not too loud. Owner and employees are always warm and welcoming.

When Cookie was let out of prison on «Empire», she didn’t age a day in the 17 years she was incarcerated judging by the flashbacks. First thing she did was go see her favorite son Jamal, who was stewing chicken with his Mexican boyfriend. She grabbed a leg from the pot even though she would have preferred having fried. Who wouldn’t? For some reason, I kept thinking of all the Cookies who come out of the Hall of Justice and wondering if this is their first meal after getting released. Well, it would certainly be healthier than a McDLT at Mickey D’s. Oh wait, they don’t make those anymore? I have been in prison a long time, haven’t I, Boo Boo Kitty? And how the hell did Cookie know how to operate her iPhone 6 so fast? But I digress. I came here after two previous failed attempts because they state here on Unilocal that they’re open on Saturdays. Not that I’ve seen. I was on my way back from the East Bay both times, and it was completely closed. However, I had a Friday afternoon off prior to a road trip and thought I’d give it one more shot. Oops, that was a bad use of that term. They were indeed open but barely since they look like they shut down in the mid-afternoon. Still, they were cordial and didn’t make me feel bad at all for coming late after the lunch hour. It’s a standard salad-and-sandwich menu except for the Mediterranean-style kebabs which appear to be their specialty(photo: ). Thanks to the stellar job they do at North Beach Gyros, I wanted to try the $ 9.25 Kofte Kebab. Interestingly, they use ground beef instead of lamb, which lent a more burger-like flavor the meatballs. It came with a side salad and a garbanzo bean salad along with one a grilled flour tortilla(photo: ). It was downright healthy and pretty good considering how I would not have expected such a decent Mediterranean lunch next to the All-Pro Bail Bonds store(photo: ). Now that I know their limited hours, perhaps I can go for the $ 6.50 Breakfast Burrito next time since it has scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, avocado and pepper jack cheese wrapped in a flour tortilla, or a $ 4 Courthouse Special which sounds like a PB&J with turkey bacon. ‘Cause as Cookie says, the streets ain’t made for ev’rybody. That’s why they built sidewalks. FOOD — 3 stars… kofte kebabs & other solid Med plates available to those near the Hall of Justice AMBIANCE — 3.5 stars… a clean, two-room café in case you want more solitary confinement… oops, that was a bad use of that term SERVICE — 3.5 stars… definitely serve you no matter what your record is TOTAL — 3 stars… a solid meal to start you on the road to rehabilitation

A very friendly place with good food and a nice overall ambiance. Café Roma is my normal«go to» spot but after visiting Café In today, I’ll be coming here a lot more often. The prices are reasonable and the food is very fresh and delicious. I had a chicken Caesar salad last week that was excellent. Plus, the free Wi-Fi is a huge plus. The staff are very friendly and the overall vibe of the place is very relaxing and peaceful with great music playing in the background. I definitely will be coming here again.

I love that there’s a Mediterranean choice by the courthouse. The food is pretty good, but overpriced. They have a few salads, sandwiches to choose from and a few dishes including lamb and chicken. They also offer grilled cheese sandwiches! Yay! I haven’t tried their breakfasts. It’s very casual with self serve drinks in a fridge. Haven’t tried their coffee to know if it’s good. They do have wifi and service is always pretty lukewarm. Too bad, I keep expecting it to be much friendlier as a family owned and run establishment.

Newly opened breakfast and lunch café located opposite the SF Courthouse. I had ordered the latte and it was the best latte I have had. It actually kept me up and alert for the morning well into the afternoon hours. Also ordered the breakfast bagel. Yum. Toasted to perfection with cream cheese. Together with my coffee. Perfection to get my day going right. So glad they are here and open for us to enjoy. Try them out!

They did a great job renovating this space. The floors are beautiful. There is more seating and it is nicer than what the previous café had. The problem is that this new café is the most expensive place to eat near the Hall of Justice. I didn’t think it was possible for anything to be more expensive than Caffe Roma, but I paid ten dollars for a chicken sandwich. The menu said«grilled chicken avocado.» I was expecting half an avocado, especially for that price. The sandwich had three tiny one inch square cubes of avocado. It came with a little salad, which was just lettuce with dressing. I gave them another try and had the tuna fish salad sandwich. It was fine, your basic tuna salad. But again, ten dollars for the sandwich and the little plain salad that came with it. For the third visit, I ordered the lamb kabob, which I thought would be their specialty. That cost nearly $ 15, which is more than I want to pay for lunch without going to a restaurant. It was served with chickpeas(aka garbanzo beans), which were hot and good and also with a cold eggplant/yogurt sauce that was ice cold and slimy and didn’t add much to the dish. Maybe I was supposed to dip the lamb in the cold sauce, but that would have defeated the purpose of ordering a hot grilled kabob. The kabob was served with a tortilla. That’s right, a plain tortilla, just sitting there on top of it all. Very odd. I’m not sure what I was supposed to do with it. Pita bread I would have understood, but what is a Mediterranean deli doing with a tortilla??? The baked goods are brought in from elsewhere and don’t look good. They were sitting on the counter the day before the café opened and the same ones that were there at the start of this week were still sitting there at the end of this week. Café In, I had three dates with you and, well, you didn’t follow the three date rule! There won’t be a fourth date.

Time: 11:44am/59°F intermittent cloud Purpose: On my way to dogpatch area for client check up and potential new client dealings. Ambiance: Located right across the street HOJ sits this new café next to a bail bond place. From the outside there’s no balloons or neon flyers plaster on windows. What you’ll get here is a standard café that does most of it’s business from 7am-3pm. Its main clientele are police officers, judges, public defender, lawyers, parking officers, near businesses, jurors etc. Wheelchair ramp is encounter first thing upon entering. There’s two rooms here, first room is the dining about 5 – 6 tables with 42’in Sharp flat screen inner back. Couple of small artwork hanging, one stand alone beverage fridge. Front counter here is within dining area itself. Starts with shelf filled with utensils/condiments, self serve water bucket, 3 danish/pastry boxes, bags Mr. Espresso Coffee beans on display, 2 chamber Faema espresso machine, grinder, register, tip jar, snack baskets, blackboard menu, separate hanging coffee menu. Adjacent room seems like a room for storage, but turn into functional extended seating area. Underneath stairway from another room could be seen painted over, but not in your way. This room host a six person counter seater, 5 tables with walls painted pastel light green. All seats are clam shell back hugging. More ideal to chat low volume convo here instead of main area with TV on. Staff: Two girls and one guy. Both girls early 20’s the guy early 40s, could be owner. The girls doesn’t know how to interact with customers. There are no greetings or recommdations of their offerings. When a question is ask, she runs to be getting the guy out to do the answering. Thus holding up time and the line forming. Basically they don’t care if you buy or not. Cleanliness: Grade A, impeccable. Nothing to be said here spotless. Tri-color coded trash cans with its own catagory. Eats/Drinks: Kofte $ 9.25 box to go. This dish was pretty good as you’ll get 4pcs of round beef pattys for the DIY meal. Comes with herbs & spices garbanzo bean salad, tortilla wrap. When box was handed over it was well over a pound nearing 2lb. I went ahead pull patty apart in pieces that would fit the tortilla and roll it up. Beef were mixed in with bread crumbs surprisingly not hard, but moist and meaty. Garbanzo beans were seasoned just right no pepper/salt needed. This definitely hits the spot as you’ll be full for at 3+ hrs. Simple easy delicious. Main Features: Kabobs and bean salads. Products/Services: Coffee by Mr. espresso, tea by Stash/Bigelowe, pastries/danishes, salads, sandwiches, kabobs, hot plates, house special, vegetarian, soups, lamb/chicken shish, kofte, bagels, breakfast burrito, grill cheese, court house special, hot/cold beverages, pound cakes, cookies. All Punch Lines: Across from HOJ, street parking, minutes from freeway, clean, average noise, no greeting, wheelchair friendly, modest cost, plenty of seating, budget watchers, quirky, Kitschy décor, light bites, occasional spotty service, nothing out of the ordinary, causal and delicious, satisfactory, takes plastic, pretentious. Tradeoffs: New near by café that has Mediterranean offerings without leaving for other areas of SF. May not carry a full line, but has the basics. Final Thoughts: No need to rush and head over here. It’s just convience for those nearby that don’t have time on their hands for more finer sophisticated luncheon. Now if you do come just don’t expect them to carry some of your favorites. Won’t happen here you eat what they have on menu that day. In some cases items are out for the day without notice till you order it. Not prepared of planning ahead here, no improvise. They don’t take it down or mark out. No off menu ordering or gourmet items here. The Mediterranean kabobs and garbanzo bean salad is as best as it’ll get. I’ll go with 3.5 stars on this joint.

great find in an area that needed a refreshing café option! turkish/mediterranean flair! good looking breakfast, lunch, coffee and pastries menu! if you’re in the area, check it out. ALSO, they do private events, nice sized area, not too big or small and they do catering!
