C. Mariani Antiques has to be one of the foremost antiques and restoration places in the US if not the world! After one step in the SOMA location (another satellite store on Jackson & Montgomery) I knew how Aladdin must have felt entering the cave. To be honest, I thought I would be met with turned up noses and attitude; not at Mariani’s. The salesperson Christian Buckley summed it up for me, «Just because we may be out of most peoples price range, doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be able to enjoy beautiful things.» WOW! I wish all sales people felt that way.
The shop seems to specialize in French & Italian museum quality antiques, but their restoration skills are unrivaled. The clientele is the most elite in the world and the merchandise is some of the most beautiful and exclusive in the world. If you or your designer are looking for accent pieces or even to fill your home (or homes) with beautiful jewels of history, then make sure you make an appointment soon!
