The burger is decent but the price is high like the rest of the area.

It’s sad to know that they officially closed in 2013. They were a good alternative to getting a fresh burger near AT&T Park, but they just didn’t draw enough business and the rent in this area is extremely expensive. This location will be the future home of an Umami Burger. I actually like Five Guys & The Habit burgers more, and their prices were pretty high at Burger Joint. Since their burgers were just«okay», I was never interested in paying the higher prices for their mediocre burgers. I did get one of their $ 5 chocolate shakes, which is probably the BEST chocolate shake that I ever had! That., I will forever miss.

I just moved into the Beacon which is literally connected to Burger Joint so regardless of what is written in this review, it is 100% confirmed that I will be back. That being said, the restaurant itself is casual, counter service, free seating in big ass booths(+++). Old school ketchup and mustard bottles. You know the deal. I got a cheddar burger with grilled onions(which they charge extra for — cmon people, you already mark up the price. I can’t have free onions?). Soda is fountain soda — Yum! Fries are the big potato-ey steak fries but I got a couple of the crispy pieces as well so it was a good blend. Burger was sizable but not so big you have to wonder how to eat without un-hinging your jaw. Food was decent, nothing like In-N-Out or a gourmet burger but somewhere in between. I wouldn’t make this place a destination but if you’re looking for a quick bite, you won’t be disappointed.

Pretty decent fast food burger place. It’s usually very empty. The booths are comfy and there are big flat screen tvs up. I like their cheesesteak and sweet potato fries. The burger is pretty decent too.

This place is conveniently(or unfortunately) located right next to Giants stadium. It seems like it would be a good place to hang out after a game, or with some friends on the weekend if you’re craving a burger. I ordered a veggie burger with pepper jack cheese and a salad with balsamic dressing instead of fries. It was served on a whole wheat bun with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles. The veggie patty was a traditional garden burger patty that could have used a little seasoning before going onto the grill. I had to get friendly with the ketchup and mustard so that my burger would actually have flavor. The pickles were great. This place is pretty big, so bringing a group here would be no problem, but for the price($ 10.50), I’ve had better elsewhere.

My burger was ok, but nothing special. I asked for no red onions but they still put it in there. The french fries were not very good because they were overly fried and greasy. The service I received was friendly and nice.

I went here with my wife and sat outside to eat lunch on a nice day with our dogs. Unfortunately, finding an outdoor table to enjoy lunch with our dogs in the city proved to be the highlight. I got a burger and my wife got a Chicken Caesar Salad. The salad was really just some bagged lettuce thrown in a bowl with some dry chicken and bottled dressing in a cup. My burger was a little better, but still nothing special. They asked me how I wanted it, but it was pretty thin so I don’t know if there was any difference between rare and well done. It wasn’t that juicy or tasty. It was put on abun that was thicker than the burger and not even toasted or anything. I understand there’s something to be said for location, but nothing was cheap and I think we ended up spending almost $ 30 for a simple lunch. A better choice is Super Duper if you don’t mind going up near Moscone.

Ive been coming here for the past year now and I cant believe that I haven’t give them any review, so here it is… This place has it all, service, cleanliness, food quality, and a friendly environment. I always order their turkey burger coze i think it taste like what a good turkey would be. I haven’t really tried other things yet coze i fell in love with the turkey burger lol but I will eventually venture out to other things on their menu because i know if their turkey burgers taste awesome more than likely that anything on their menu is also awesome. I would definitely recommend this place before and after spot during game time because they do have TV’s their to make sure u don’t miss anything on your daily dose of sports or SF giants fever… GOGIANTS… This place is pretty well maintained and the workers are friendly and knowledgeable on their products or their menus. It is not hard to be a regular in this place because as i said earlier having the service, cleanliness, food quality, and a friendly environment pretty much the perfect formula of an awesome burger joint :) …keep it up guys… u guys are doing a great job.

I am not a chain person or a burger person :) usually but I do like this place. Probably a 4.5 of 5 but I can’t give a 5 because it is a chain and isn’t spectacular but it is a stable option. Great location, clean, new, fresh food and ingredients(the salads and avocado and veges are really fresh and yummy). Loved the vege burger, no bun, mayo, onion, with avocado and instead of fries the side salad with vinaigrette is fantastic! My husband loves the burger with avocado and fries or the sweet potato fries. Always fresh, pleasant employees, clean, and quite a large seating area(indoor and out). Nice selection.

Pretty disappointing burger, if you ask me. At $ 10 a pop, you’d think they would have a damn good tasting burger, but I had better ones at a BBQ the day before. There is really nothing special about this place. There is no special seasoning or sauces or any added elements to it. It’s just a basic, bland burger with overdone fries. Womp, womp, womp!

I’ve been going to my Mission District dentist for over 20 years and as long as I can remember, we would always pass Burger Joint on Valencia. For whatever reason, it’s taken me this long to finally get a tase of Burger Joint. My season goal of trying most eateries near AT&T Park brough me to their King Street location. Burger Joint closes up shop at 9 p.m. and we made it an hour before, just in time to catch the fireworks at McCovey Cove. It wasn’t terribly busy, but did have a steady stream of customers coming in after we ordered. The menu is rather simple with hamburgers, cheeseburgers, turkey burgers, philly cheesesteaks, grilled chicken sandwich, beef hot dog, mix greens, and a caesar sald. Your options for sides include: onion rings, french fries, and sweet potato fries. I went ahead and got their cheeseburger, which is served with all the usual condiments, including: mayo, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and pickles. I forked over an additional .50 cents for jalapenos. I skipped the fries and got mixed greens instead and saved on the calories. The food order took 10 minutes or so and looked delicious when delivered to the table. The burger definitely had flavor, but not enough for the $ 10 price tag. It wasn’t as bland as other reviews mentioned;however, I added quite a bit of tobasco sauce. The bun could have been toasted a bit more yet the beef patty was nicely cooked and juicy for the most part. The mixed greens was a healthy alternative to the fries, which I also tried from my friend’s order, which were tasty. Overall, I enjoyed my burger and salad, and the $ 12 price point is acceptable due to its prime location. If you want to eat and drink near the park, you have to pay a premium. Ambiance: 3 Stars(out of 5) Food: 3 Stars(out of 5) Service: 3 Stars(out of 5) Price: $$ Overall: 3 Stars(out of 5) Pros: + Fresh, niman ranch beef + Fries can be substituted for mixed greens + Walking distance to AT&T Park + Spacious diner with outdoor patio Cons: — Pricey — Average tasting burgers

Positives: — Close to my work, no line around dinner time(6pm). Negatives: — Super plain burger. Standard quarter pounder, not even seasoned with salt and pepper. — Buns were not toasted on the grill, and did not taste too fresh either. — Plain burger with steak fries came out to $ 10. Definitely better burgers to be had elsewhere(like at Super Duper on Market!) for cheaper. Wouldn’t recommend this place given the plethora of other eateries nearby.

I met up with my girlfriend in SOMA for a long lunch and try something new. There’s lots of choices along King Street, including the new Lucky Strikes. Instead of all that business, we decided to give Burger Joint a try. I ordered the cheeseburger with fries, with a coffee shake. At $ 15, this was a pretty crazy price to pay for the world’s most boring burger. The fries were totally unseasoned and all of the food here comes from Cisco. Boring, tasteless, and uninspired. The single bright spot was the coffee shake, which was thick and tasty. My girlfriend’s chicken Caesar salad was plain and expensive at almost $ 10. Extras are absurdly priced too. I was totally blown away by Burger Joint, and in all the wrong ways. Service was just so-so but at least they’ve got some dog-friendly tables outside. The joint is clean, but it’s such a shame that the food is so unsatisfying and plain. In fact, it really makes me miss Islands in San Diego. Even the fries come out frozen. Sad. Food: 4⁄10 Service: 5⁄10 Price: $$ Atmosphere: 5⁄10

Stopped by this joint with some friends after Giants fan fest, which is located about a block from AT&T Park. Decent burgers, but a little tad bit pricey, if you ask me, but still enjoyable. My friend and I shared a classic cheeseburger with fries(we were so full from all the ballpark food) and it was pretty nummy =) Good place to go to before or after a game if you’re craving for burgers. Just to warn you, it does get busy and filled with Giants fans on game days ;). I’d come back here again. Next time, I will definitely explore other things on the menu.

Good burgers, and great location. If you feel like a trashy, yet tasteful, low-key, nitty-gritty burger — Burger Joint is the place to be. The prices are right and the food is good. If only they came with more fries when you order them. grab a bite and walk to the game or better yet, grab a burger to go and eat it on your CalTrain ride home.

I’ve gone to this location more often than the Haight location(which is now closed down BOOOO) and it can get busy at lunch during the week, but it was worth the walk over there. I absolutely *love* their french fries, good, crispy, hot, and loaded down with ketchup and malt vinegar!(seriously, why don’t more places carry malt vinegar? Is it a British thing only or something? Please carry more malt vinegar!) The burgers are decent and I like their veggie burger than most other places. Pretty standard though, not much on extra toppings, but a good solid burger overall. I’d go to this place for the fries mainly. I haven’t found too many places with fries this good(except for in Canada, where I can get gravy for them… seriously, what is the aversion to putting gravy on fries in California???) Also, huge tables. HUGE. We’d go there with just four of us and feel dwarfed. You could easily sit anywhere between six and eight people at a table. Bring your kids, your mom, your grandma, your great aunt Edna… you can fit em all in the seats and have great amazing french fries with malt vinegar!

I’m a little surprised this place doesn’t have better reviews. Granted, I’ve only been here once, and it was on a not-so-busy weekday, but when Burger Joint had a location in the Lower Haight I used to order from there quite a bit, and always found it to be good. This location was pretty much the same. It’s clean, there’s a lot of seating, and they even have a TV to catch a game. I just grabbed a cheeseburger(w/pepperjack) and it was tasty. Granted, I’m not too picky when it comes to burgers, but I thought everything from the bun to the patty tasted fresh, and it was made-to-order. The burger came with fries, which were nothing to write home about, but they they were hot and there was nothing offensive about them. The prices here are adequate IMO. Most of the burgers(which come with fries) are around $ 10, which I think is fair. I’m not in this area too often, and if I am it’s for a Giants game, so I’m more likely to be at a bar, but if I ever felt like a burger I’d come here again.

************* REVIEW219 **************** I was starving before my class, so I stopped by for a quick bite. Cheeseburger $ 8.45 — the homeless man @ Safeway loves it. Cheese Steak $ 8.95 — mediocre for me. 2.5 Stars for good service!

Came here for lunch today. I’ve been to the Burger Joint on Valencia and this one is comparable. The place is huge and bright with tons of seating. My order(chicken burger with fries) took a little less than 10 minutes to be made. The line was short. My burger was good and the chicken wasn’t overly dry, which is good because that’s my only gripe about chicken burgers. The total for two people(two burgers with fries, two drinks) came out to $ 23. Pricey, but I already knew what to expect since I had eaten here before. The parking situation sucks. The meters give you exactly 4.5 minutes for each quarter, so be prepared to have a ton of quarters on your if you’re eating here during the day.

I can’t explain why my burger came out so disgustingly bad. From the moment I ordered it I watched the cook take the burger patty out of the storage compartment, peel away the butcher paper and place the burger on the open flamed grill and let it sear away. As you might have guessed the restaurant wasn’t very busy at the time of my visit. Several minutes passed before the cook flipped over the patty then allowed it to sear away a bit longer before carefully placing a slice of cheese on top. The burger arrived on my table shortly. The cheeseburger with pepperjack, no onions and fries looked really good( ), but based on just one bite the burger was a major disappointment. Despite the fact that both sides of the burger were cooked dark brown the inside of the thin patty was raw and barely warm. Take it from a guy who doesn’t eat rare meat this was pretty disgusting. The burger was flavorless and juiceless, but maybe the shock of biting into a raw burger killed all of my taste buds. Conveniently, a trash bin was located directly behind my booth and that’s the only place my burger deserved to go. The thick, meaty fries were kind of dry, but thankfully I got a hefty serving on my platter. It took a lot of ketchup but I cleaned up every fry on my plate. The root beer float was good with a huge scoop of vanilla bean ice cream submerged in a cool cup of root beer. This place is a bit overpriced, but the staff is friendly. There is also a big screen television to watch the Giants throw away another game, but all in all this is another«been there, done that» type of place that won’t see a repeat customer in me.
