This is like SF’s version of Lawry’s Prime Rib(Café) back down at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA; you walk up to the register, place your order, they give you a pager, pager beeps, you take your food, then you grab a seat. Prices to my surprise, are actually pretty decent since it’s about the same as LPR, but hey it’s a tri-tip/rib place, so what else would you expect? I got the Roadhouse Burger(without the blue cheese), and my first thought was«Is a burger supposed to be served on a French roll?» Oh well, even on the French Roll, the burger was pretty damn good. The meat didn’t taste chewy, and the roadhouse onions(fried onion strings) were crispy just the way I like it. Since I had a late lunch(and I didn’t have much to eat this morning since I had to catch my flight at LAX), I wanted to order the combo; but for an extra $ 3? Bad move. But hey, on the bright side, the fries tasted good. :) Will I return? Well, it depends on when I would go back to SF. :P If I do, then I would return, so let’s just leave it at that. :D

Great food, good spot to grab quick lunch or dinner before a movie or shopping. Very personable service as well.

It’s hard for me to write a negative review. I ate at this restaurant a couple of months ago. I had the Yik Yak salad for a light dinner. Then I got very sick from my stomach that night. Next day, I called the restaurant and talked to the manager. She was apologetic and offered me the refund but I didn’t take it. I didn’t want her to feel that this was the reason for my complaint. I just saw another review with the similar thing. I want to let everyone know that for this particular restaurant, getting sick after eating there is not a single incident.

chipotle had too long a line and we were hungry. so we walked into the Met and grabbed food here. the line was long, they got my order wrong and it took too long between plates being prepared. we came back to work and within thirty minutes two of my coworkers went home w/an upset stomach and i’m feeling kind of ill myself. this was awful. don’t go here, there’s plenty of other fast food options at the met.

I know that Buckhorn offers salads & burgers, but all I ever order there is the tri-tip. I’ve tried all the various types of tri-tip sandwiches & all of them are tasty & good. I tend to lean towards the bacon & cheddar buck. The bacon is thick & layered over the meat w/the cheese melted onto both. I always leave a happy camper after I eat here. Every time I make it to SF I try to stop by Buckhorn at least once to enjoy the goodness. I recommend stopping in to try at least one of their tri-tip sandwiches, you won’t be sorry!

This place features Angus Beef on salads, flatbreads, sandwiches and platters. I would consider it ‘upscale fast food’. You order at the counter and they give you a pager that vibrates when your food is ready. I had the bacon cheddar buck which is the beef with(suprise) bacon and cheddar. I have to say, it was pretty good. The bacon was thick cut and the beef was not over cooked. I also had mashed potatoes on the side, which were good as well. I hope this place does not come to the East Coast, because it would be hard to avoid eating here! Only suggestion I have is that they omit the«Philly Buck» from the menu, because no one will eat it on principle alone.
