Terrible food. We ordered the ‘Lemon garlic chicken’ small plate, and were left pretty disappointed. The chicken was chalky and tasted stale. Not recommended.

Located in the malls food court, this place isn’t bad. The TriTip is good, not as tender, but tasty still. For $ 16 – 18 you get meat, potatoes, cornbread and veggies. Its a lot of food. Not the best TriTip ever, but pretty good for the price. Refills on non-alcoholic drinks are free!

Ugh! What happened to this place? I dined at Buckhorn grill when I used to live in the east bay. I went to the Walnut Creek locations which was really good. There sandwiches were nice and hearty and I remember really liking it. I live in San Francisco now and I was happy to see it at the Westfield shopping center. I went during Christmas season and it completely changed! I ordered Crispy Chicken sandwich and it looked worst than a McChicken sandwich from McDonalds! It was not fresh and it was so think you can barely see it! I was tasting more bread than anything else. The macaroni and cheese. Was this made from powder? Totally disappointed me! What happened to you, buckhorn?

Allow me to lapse into the local lingo when describing the Tri Tip Flatbread Salad I had at this Buckhorn location. That’s hella salad! Honest. Large plate, large flatbread, a mountain of greens and veggies, and five very large thin strips of Tri tip. Hella salad. If you sliced your meat right, you could literally get a piece of Tri tip into every bite. The steak was juicy and a perfect medium rare. The greens were fresh and crisp. The flatbread was firm yet chewy. I chose a Caesar dressing because I didn’t want the dressing to fight with the flavor of the Tri tip, and that turned out to be an excellent choice. One complaint though. I couldn’t believe they only had the dullest butter knives in the planet for us diners to eat this lovely steak salad. I get that we’re in a food court and it might not be cool to have super sharp steak knives lying around for random people to grab. But please give me something at least a tiny bit sharper than that thing I had to use. It could barely cut through the flatbread! Oh well, food court dining is hardly perfection. At least this Tri tip gem was worth the price, the crowds, and the three laps around the seating area it took for me to find a place to sit and eat it.

The Big Buck sandwich was absolute heaven. Perfectly cooked tri-tip slices to medium rare with au jus sauce. The only problem is that the portion was not worth $ 10. I had to order two in order to fill myself up.

I’m so down with the Buckhorn Grill. I just LOVE anyplace I can get fresh, grilled chicken – in a sandwich or on a salad or just on whatever my mood dictates. I ordered extra chicken without any judgement from the nice man taking my order, which is always appreciated.(I’m a protein piggie sometimes, snort snort!:) I was hesitant to eat here because I can get this anytime at my neighborhood Walnut Creek location, but am so glad I did. It was completely yummy! Not to mention, it filled me up without making me feel stuffed and I was perfectly hungry for dinner. Win/Win and thumbs up!!!

If you can deal with the pushy people of the Westfield mall, this is a place I definitely recommend. I love their tri tip and chicken combo. They give a huge amount of food, and everything tastes great. The tri tip is juicy and their grilled chicken is full of flavor. I would also have to say it is expensive if eating with multiple people, but a go to spot whenever I’m in the area.

Came here with my older brother and three nephews on a Monday evening because some of us haven’t eaten yet. We decided to do Buckhorn Grill because I haven’t had it in a very long time. My nephew, Chris, ordered the tri-tip sandwich meal on his own and he seemed please with his meal. I ordered the $ 26.992.5 lb tri-tip to share with my brother and my other nephews because they’ve never tried Buckhorn. I asked to have the tri-tip sliced both ways, half thick and half thin. The boys definitely seemed to enjoy the meat a lot. We had a side order of mac ‘n cheese that wasn’t a big hit and the corn bread was really dry, so we just focused on eating the tri-tip. I was really surprised that the four of us couldn’t finish 2.5 lbs of meat so we ended up having to ask for a box to take the rest home. Overall, we all enjoyed the tri-tip a lot and you get your money’s worth, just avoid ordering some of the sides…

I came across Buckhorn wandering the Westfield food court with a huge appetite, and I wanted so many different things. Buckhorn seemed to offer that with the tri-tip steak and grilled chicken combo with some sides. There were only a few people in line, and my food was served up super quickly. I guess it’s a mall so they precook and just serve whatever people order. Mashed potatoes and gravy were awesome – perfect taste and texture, as were the vegetables. The balance of food was excellent and healthy enough. I’m not sure I understand the hype over the meat though. I do admit that when I saw the cut of tri-tip steak, I started craving brisket for a second. But when I bit in, it was so salty and a little tough to cut and eat. The grilled chicken was likewise a little old and pretty salty. I will say the meal was pretty expensive, but lasted for 1 dinner + 1 lunch so in the end it was a good value. And don’t forget to check in to use the Unilocal coupon! I’d be willing to come back and give it another try, but there are so many other enticing options in this food court! Unsure why this is the highest rated place in the food court with a solid 4. I wish the sample guy had been there before I got in line…

To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised by the food from buckhorn grill. I ordered the chicken flatbread salad and the chicken was well seasoned, and was served with caramel used red onions(yum), tomatoes, and spring mix. Overall, if recommend coming here if you’re at the mall.

The other locations are much better. But, again. what can you expect at the mall. Don’t order the sandwich, it’s not worth the money

As I walk in here, I always notice that the line is way too long. Should I tell people that this is the worst place ever? I mean, I come here quite often enough, and I can’t wait to get to my wonderful and cheap food. So here are the reasons you shouldn’t go here: 1) If you don’t like large portion of wonderfully mixed food 2) You like waiting a long time for your food 3) You don’t like tri-tip. like, really good tri-tip Please don’t go to this place, and don’t take my tri-tip!

Came here for lunch at Westfield. Just another day in the city getting my shopping fix. Located in the lunch emporium. I ordered a crispy chicken avocado salad. A very good, decent price for quality food. The chicken was yummy, breaded and crunchy. It also came with bleu cheese, my favorite. Came with a honey lime sauce which was sweet and tangy, a yummy combination. They were also VERY generous with their portions. It was too much for me to finish.

5 stars for their trip tip flat bread salad. I passed on the flatbread and asked for balsamic vinaigrette instead of the ranch. Tri tip is wonderfully seasoned, the greens were fresh and crunchy and the balsamic was fantastic!

The salads here are really good! I have a difficult time deciding on a choice every time. The portions are also HUGE so you might want to consider sharing. Everything tastes fresh and it is pretty quick from ordering to eating time. I can’t say enough about the tri-tip. I am pretty picky about tri-tip and tend to be disappointed when ordering it from a restaurant. Buckhorn Grill never disappoints my hopes. YUMMY!

If you’re at Westfield center and looking for a bite, they’ve been trying to turn around mediocre 90s style mall food into more gourmet options for a while. With that said, Buckhorn Grill is a small chain from Winters, CA which seems to have gained some traction in their food court ventures and have some standalone strip mall locations too. I’ve had: Cabo Chop Salad w/Chicken($ 10.49) — this was a large yet messy salad. Lots of blue cheese that drowned out the beans and lime dressing. Roadhouse buck($ 8.99) — Delicious tri tip sandwich, seasoned well, medium rare, and stuffed to the max. The sauce provided was good standalone. Potato strings complementing this felt like they weren’t made to order, something you can sometimes taste from a large chain like Outback/Chilis. Otherwise, sandwich was good as is. Way better than the average mall food, it’s a short wait as they prep your meal.

Tri-tip and some mixed greens, what more could a girl ask for? I usually order the Cabo Chop salad with tri tip minus the blue cheese and taco bowl with dressing on the side. This salad has a good mix of chopped romaine, avocado, black beans, corn, jicama, radishes, and tomatoes. My new favorite is the trip tip flatbread wrap minus the blue cheese again. It seems like a whole wheat wrap with romaine, red onion, tomatoes, celery, mushrooms and ranch dressing. I am not sure how they get this wrap to stay in place but it is a lot easier to eat than when you order the flatbread style… although then you wouldn’t eat all the bread: P

Buckhorn is the only good food I have had in this food court. The garlic fries are really good and the crispy chicken avocado salad is my fav. I also like that they offer sauces like BBQ and ranch for free off to the side where you pick up your food. The nazis at Bistro burger have the audacity to charge extra for those(the Bush street location offers sauces free – riddle me THAT Bistro Burger, hmm?) If you’re at Westfield and want a non-yuppy meal that won’t give you the runs or taste horrible, and as an added bonus– tastes good, Buckhorn is your joint.

The ‘Ceasar Pleaser’ is all I order. Two thick slices of tri-tip grilled to perfection. It is tender not tough. Their $ 11.99 price is awesome for the anount of tri-tip and salad you get. I leave super full every time. The Ceasar salad is decent with yummy croutons. It also comes with bread and butter if you want it. The service is fast and with a smile. If you sign up for their reward program, you can get a ten dollar coupon after you spend $ 100. If you eat here a lot like me, it adds up fast. Enjoy :)

At Westfield mall there are so many options to eat that don’t come off as «cheap.» There’s a variety of nice dining for lunch and Buckhorn Grill is a place if want something nice to have. And by nice, I mean a meal that looks like a steak dinner. So I met up with my sis and aunt for lunch and here’s what we shared: POUTINE — $ 7.99 As soon as I saw this in the display I had to order it. I don’t often see poutine with pieces of steak. Also, we were holding up the line because of our indecisiveness. Yeah its one of those layouts where you better know what you’re getting by the time you get to the cash register, otherwise you’ll get the stink eye! ANYWHO, yes, the poutine not only has the gravy and cheese curds(which wasn’t much) but it was topped with a load of rare steak! That was the best part! There’s also some green onions on top but I think we ended up just eating the steak. It was so tender and flavorful. I think the gravy only made the whole dish a little saltier than I liked. Poutine is the kind of dish you should eat fast unless you prefer your fries soggy and swimming in gravy. SIRLOINPLATTER — $ 15.99 2 thin slabs of Sirloin steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, cornbread, tiny corn on the cob, and grilled vegetables(sweet potato, red bell pepper, zucchini, and potato, and meat juice). You know, I was quite impressed when I saw this plate. The sirloin is quite tender and tasty… everyone is quite decent. My only complain is the corn on the cobb was dry and over cooked. But besides that, for that price, it was a good amount of food! It did take awhile though but hey, its not fast food right? I know its not cooked to order but still. Not too shabbeh is what I say! We ended up with leftovers, and I overall enjoyed my meal. Woot!
