I just don’t know what happened that my mom and my aunt dragged me in for this place, and yes, it’s quite a mixed bag here, and closely disappointed. Located at Chinatown in San Francisco, «Broadway Dim Sum Café» brings the consumers to own their dim sums and well known Chinese foods right at your comfort zone. As I entered on 5÷30÷2016, the atmosphere was kinda quite and dull as I welcomed there. The concept is much old schooled here with outdated decors and rusted materials in the unused kitchen area. The employees are doing an OK job here despite the lack of their marketing strategies. Hopefully, they need to find an alternative way to make it more worthy if these products are much worth the price especially the food quality too. Now onto the food. We did ordered 3 boxes of well-prepared vegetarian noodles(costing $ 15 total; $ 5 per box) to go before we headed out from San Francisco. As I ate it, the noodles is somewhat not good. The noodles and vegetables cooked well, but it did lacked the flavors out of touch despite there’s few or no amount of salt and pepper seasoning on it. I wish they need to step it up to make it more flavorful of the noodles and vegetables combined, and cleaned properly before cooking. Parking at Broadway Dim Sum Café can be difficult to park. You can park at the nearest surface street metered parking nor the parking garage if it’s available. Otherwise, you can also ride a bike, walk, or use public transportation easier. To conclude, Broadway Dim Sum Café is an alright place, but it’s not my favorite spot to dine good Chinese food in San Francisco. If you want to try it, good luck. My rating: 2 solid stars.

Should have read Unilocal reviews before walking in to this place. Food was alright, not fantastic but service was terrible. We ordered some youtiao that was $ 2.50 and it came cold. I took a bite and told the server it was cold and could they please replace it. He said«but you’ve already eaten it» and I said«exactly that’s why I could tell it’s cold. Did you want me to touch it with my fingers and give it back to you so you could serve other customers?» And that dish probably cost $ 0.20 since it’s just flour. He actually went to ask his boss about whether he could replace it, grudgingly came back with a replacement and said no more next time otherwise they will lose money — as if he was doing me a huge favor and I should be grateful for it. Will not go there again.

Be careful when you order party tray to go here. I order 10 pounds of noodles, they make 20 pounds and make me pay because the food is already made. This is not the first time they tricked me. Be careful when u order over the phone or even in the store. Personally. I will never come back here.

My family likes to visit«hole in the wall» restaurants when we visit Chinatown. This trip we erred big time with this choice. You order up front and then take your food and seat yourself. We ordered several dishes and took our dishes to find all of the tables were extremely dirty, as were most of the chairs. A mirror on one wall was covered with dirty finger and had prints, obviously not cleaned in several days or more. Unfortunately we ordered two of the rice noodle rolls with shrimp. We all tried the rolls and unanimously agreed that they were bad, the shrimp tasted spoiled. My wife, who speaks cantonese returned one order and the remains of the second and voiced our concerns. The woman working there said the items were freshly made and there was nothing wrong with them. She offered nothing, no refund, no substitute, etc. My wife returned to our dirty table and we finished the remainder of our meal which was okay. While eating the woman, approached our table and harassed my wife about the dishes and said that the sauce was different that normal and that was probably what we did not like. My wife again said, no, the shrimp were bad. Again, the woman offered no apology, or compensation and her approaching us were totally uncalled for and rude. When we finished and were leaving, the woman had the audacity to yell at us to clean our table! The dirty restaurant, serving of spoiled shrimp, and the unsympathetic attitude of the owner/operator, and the added unwarranted harassing attempt to justify her bad attitude all contributed to this review. I would avoid this«café» at all cost!

Very cheap food, and you get what you pay for. Whenever I want to get some quick, cheap dim sum I come here. The food inspection score is disturbingly low, but sometimes you have to live on the edge.

Food is cheap and even cheaper near closing. But it would be difficult for me to patronize a business where someone(I believe the owner) picks her teeth with her finger while she is behind the counter. During another visit she would use tongs to grab the food while touching the food with the other hand. Why bother using the tongs? The cocktail buns are missing the two lines of glazing that is traditionally found across the top. I think the food is watered down. Basically you get what you pay.

Big mound of ground raw pork on a table top in the seating area greeted us once in the store. Unfortunately, we had already ordered and paid for a few pork dumplings –the insides of which looked very much like the 5 – 10 pounds raw ground pork on the table beside us. We left without eating.

I am sickened at the moment. I purchased a dozen rice balls. I’ve done this before and didn’t think anything of it. Though they said that they were out of cooked and had to give me a container of ones that still had to be steamed. That’s fine, I don’t mind. Low and behold, when I get home and open the box. I find mold all over the rice balls. I had to take a second, third, fourth glance to see if I was seeing that right. WTF!!! Does that mean the steamed ones had mold and then the mold got cooked off? The rice balls have declined in quality. It’s like all the crappy leftovers get put into the balls. I really want my money back. Maybe that’s what’s been making me sick since I ate these. I am never going back again. What a waste!

3.5 stars, but definitely a 5-star value. Broadway Dim Sum Café is a small mom-and-pop shop that offers no-frills dim sum. It’s good, it’s cheap, and it’s fast: five bucks goes a long way here. The locals line up here throughout the day, whether it’s the students on the way to/from school or the senior citizens taking a break from their endless games of Go. For the tourist, it’s the perfect pit stop as you explore the North Beach and Chinatown neighborhoods. You won’t say it’s the best dim sum you’ve ever had, but it’s filling and easy food to eat on the go.

Super cheap dim sum place across the street from You’s Dim Sum. Broadway Dim Sum has pretty much everything You’s has but a bit cheaper in price, a bit lower in quality, and they actually have english translations of their menu. Some of my fave’s: 3 egg custard tarts for $ 1.80! 60¢ chicken buns(like a pork bun, but with chicken, a little chinese sausage, and some egg inside) $ 1.50 congee! I dig their stuff and if you show up in the late afternoon they have special deals on their older stuff. Broadway’s quality is not quite up to You’s but it’s just as good as Eastern Bakery and a bit cheaper. Check it out!

This is pretty much an exact copy of D&A on clement, Menu is the same, just prices are even cheaper. It can be pretty gross here sometimes, i’ve saw 2 roaches walked up the wall before and found dead flies in one of my friend’s drink. But that didn’t stop me from coming here, it’s still a great place to chill with my friends after 12am. The lady waitress can also be pretty rude to you, but we always just laugh it off and she walks away. Probably not the best place if you’re looking for some really good food. If nothing i said earlier bother you, you should try their watermelon juice with boba, and their happy hour with the $ 2 menu!
