The usual crap fest for straight san Francisco tech employees. Won’t be back.

GREATCOCKTAILS and COOLVIBE. My husband, a friend and I stopped into Bond Bar on Saturday around 7:30 for a cocktail between our early dinner and the birthday party we were headed to. It was not crowded, but there were enough people it had a good vibe. The décor is neat, and it is a typical dark cocktail bar. The menu was easy to read and they had some creative drinks to choose from. I did not actually go to the bar to order, but the men were back rather quickly with the drinks, so I have to assume the service was good. The three of us got the three mezcal drinks on the menu, and we were all very happy with them. I got the mezcal and house-made horchata, which has since prompted me to go pick up a bottle of mezcal and find a horchata recipe, b/c it was AMAZING!!! My husband got the mezcal version of a manhattan and it was PERFECTLY blended. Our friend got the refreshing mezcal drink with cucumber, and it tasted like the PERFECT drink for a hot day(even though it was a cold night… hehe).

Bond was close by to where my boyfriend and I were staying on our weekend trip to San Francisco. Given, we came in on a Tuesday night, so it wasn’t very crowded, but for a week day, it was actually pretty busy. The set up is very narrow, like a bar tucked away on a side street, which is… exactly what it is. When you walk in, you have the entire bar to your right, and stools lined up. Towards the back, you have a few couches, and a large banquet table that divide the men and women’s restrooms. We went here with a few friends, grabbed a few seats at the couches. It wasn’t too loud, so we were able to have conversation across without difficulty. The ambience is dark, moody, exactly how I like my cocktail lounges. It’s a great spot to grab drinks with a date before or after dinner. Service is pretty good, fast on the drinks, too and prices are not bad. Definitely got the local feels here. Was a great first stop on our night out.

Very modern and trendy décor. Good drink list. Yet such an aloof feel. Service with a forced smile. Non engaging. Not really a fun mission feel. Patrons attached to their devices, me included. Miss me mission dives of old!

This bar is small but cute. I didn’t really get to explore much of the space itself, since I spent the entire time at a small booth off to the side of the front door. From there, you can’t see much besides the guard’s back and anyone entering, making it a decently secluded space. I was able to enjoy a nice conversation and some intimate moments while sipping away at a strawberry gin cocktail(with strawberry ice — loved it!). Fond memories and a nice segue to the evening.

Located in the old Esta Noche location, Bond recreates a warm, yet modern space. Perch yourself at the vintage, carved-wood bar, or lounge in the back on angular couches by the large, wall-sized tv screen. Creative cocktails are in fashion. Bond delivers. Sip down the runway in chill style!

Am I going to Blondie’s or Elbo Room for dancing? ABV, Double Dutch, Sycamore, or Kilowatt with friends? Probably, ya. But first(sometimes second) I’m going to Bond. The drinks are always delicious, strong, lovely, and the prices aren’t bad. And the bathrooms are clean. Weekends are usually a little crazy, but fun, and the scene isn’t too young or obnoxious(compared to a lot of the Mission bars, anyway). Weekday nights are often quieter, but still busy. The décor is a little on the classy side, and though it does seem to attract a lot of the bourgeois crowd, I always bring my own group of friends rather than going there to meet new people. Did I mention that the bathrooms are clean? I appreciate how little an effort is made to be a pseudo-dive bar hipster destination. Sometimes you don’t want your feet to stick to the floor when you walk into a bar. You want to feel like the place is cared about by the owners. Also, clean bathrooms. I’ve had the strawberry gimlet that everyone seems to love, and it was good. There’s also a drink I can’t remember the name of where they plop a bunch of basil in, and it is refreshing and totally delicious. The Richmond is probably my favorite. I keep ordering it despite the high probability that it has been the primary cause of at least two mild hangovers. Every cocktail I’ve tried has been really good, and they have a great selection of top-shelf booze. And the bathrooms have always been clean ;).

I came here on a Wednesday night and I instantly fell in love with the design of this bar. It wasn’t overly crowded and the lounge in the back looked great for a group of people. I will definitely go back if I am in the area. It is a convenient location if you have to catch Bart since it is right next to 16th Street station.

I’m here now and I’ve been a bunch of times so far. Punchy music and a sexy vibe /ambiance for days. Plus they always have some gorgeous time lapse film playing on the back wall. Cocktails delicious. Wine pretty decent. Sweet art on the wall made of butterflies. Friendly bartenders. I’m docking one star because sometimes the clientele can be douchey but not always. And when they are douchey, it’s only some people, not all of them. I myself am not a douchebag so I can say that with confidence. Definitely worth checking out the lively scene here!

Interesting little bar in the Mission District. The drinks aren’t bad, but the place is small and incredibly loud. The whole night, I had to practically scream so the person next to me could hear me. Bonus perk: The back wall has really weird videos playing on it. The one I saw seemed almost post-apocalyptic with imagery of empty fields and the vast universe behind it. Good backdrop for when you’re tired of screaming and just want to chill and stare at something.

Stumbled across this bar while visiting San Francisco for my birthday. We visited on a Monday night and pretty much had the place to ourselves. I really enjoyed the vibe. The bartender was great and made some extra special cocktails for us. We indulged in the gin mixed drinks which were pricey but well made. Wish we found this place sooner. Will definetly be back.

Be transported into the Old San Francisco theater upon entering this lounge. It was actually a hotel that was remade into a bar, which gives you that old SF vibe that we love so much. Just be aware that the bar is pretty small, but it’s not that crowded. So you can’t even tell that it’s a small venue. I would say the drink menu is pretty creative. They offer vodka, gin, tequila, mezcal, whiskey, rum, etc cocktails. And they produce their own twist of the classic cocktails. Whatever you’re in the mood for, there’s a drink for you. They also incorporate fresh fruits/juices in the cocktail as well, which makes their drinks of high quality. Here are a couple that I tried. Erin wonderland: refreshing and tart with the grapefruit flavor. The thyme adds a nice to balance the drink. Valencia Martinez: it’s like a gin Manhattan. Or you can think of if it as a lighter and less sweet version of a negroni. Pretty interesting combination and twist to the classic drinks. I’ll be back whn I’m in the Mission district.

Me and my friend literally passed by this place on the way to our original destination, and the little video on the wall definitely turned our heads, so we took a better look at the bar and decided to take a «pit stop» here for a first drink of the night. We ended up staying here for over an hour, never making it to our original destination and had an overall fantastic experience. We initially wanted well drinks but we didn’t have cash and they only accept credit cards for purchases $ 20 or more so we opted for their cocktail drinks(avg $ 10-$ 11 each). Absolutely LOVED them… so glad I got the Oakland Sour over a measly old vodka and cranberry. You can tell the bartenders put a bit of care in their mixing. The Oakland Sour I’m assuming is their unique twist on a Whiskey Sour which is why I went for it. Like I said, I was clearly not at all disappointed. My friend went for the Strawberry Gin Gimlet, which I can tell from Unilocal seems like a top seller. And yeah… probably owns up to it. I can tell it’s on the stronger side but not in a bad way– my friend really enjoyed it. We only hoped the strawberry infused ice cube could melt quick enough to get those juicy strawberry slices but it didn’t melt fast enough. Slick, simple ambiance. Great for long, intimate conversations and company. The bouncer saw us standing and offered to sit us on their large wrap around seating area in the front even though there were only 2 of us. He said, as long as it’s not reserved it’s open to all! From bouncer to bartender I had great service experience. And they definitely have drinks that satisfy the taste buds and get you in the mood for a great night out! I definitely will be returning!

My new favorite bar! The time lapse projected on the back wall is rad. I love that it echoes the artsy feel of the Mission District. Also, it was so nice that there were areas to sit down and that the drinks weren’t overpriced! Only caveat is they do have a $ 20 minimum on credit card purchases so bring cash monayyyyy $$$ solid bar, great drinks, and trendy vibe!

Stargazing on the back wall of beautiful time lapses, and lovely cocktails. The basil gin gimlet was delicious and refreshing, as was the strawberry version. Cute Décor inside, plenty of space and doesn’t get crowded. Room to sit. Perfect for a low key Friday night!

One of my new favorite bars in the area, with a great ambiance, not-too-loud music, great drinks, not over-priced, and not overly crowded. To be fair, I came on a Sunday night during Pride, so take it my «not-too-crowded» comment with a grain of salt. I’m sure it gets busy on a Friday or Saturday night. You can actually carry a conversation on, and the space is modern, clean, and tastefully decorated. The bar is really long and has maybe 15 seats, and there are couches and a big TV in the back. The drinks were really delicious and all reasonably priced at $ 10 – 12. I got a Strawberry Gin gimlet and then the bartender made me something off-the-menu with grapefruit and basil, which was delicious. The location is great, with lots of restaurants nearby if you want a bite to eat before or after, or if you want to grab dessert, CREAM is just down the street. If you like bars like Oddjob, Novela or Forgery in SOMA, without the steep prices, you’ll like this bar. Looking forward to coming back here again and trying more of their drinks. Such a welcome addition to the neighborhood since some of the other bars in the area are a bit too dark or divey for my taste.

— — — — — — - Bond is Nice place to hang out when you’re on a week day. There are some space, drinks are pretty nice. They have pretty much everything from draft beer to cocktails. Bond has a really nice decoration that remind my trendy bar in Paris but much more bigger.

The name’s Bond. Sorry, I can’t resist movie references because I know so little of them: P Anyways, the review: [THEIMPRESSION] We were wandering around the Mission and everywhere seemed either too crowded or too sketchy. At first we were hesitant about Bond because it seemed too nice, but it turned out to be nice while remaining reasonably priced at $ 10 per cocktail. [THECRAFTINESS] There is a decent variety of cocktails, and they were well crafted. Bonus star for the extra flair in presentation: star anise frozen in an ice cube, a flamboyant twig of rosemary, a lemon slice of perfect radial symmetry, and an L-shaped floral sprig(though the L kept making me think that I was drinking a latte). [THEAMBIANCE] It’s hip without being too hip: a back area lit primarily by the glowing purple stained-glass tables, the spaciously minimalist arrangement that appears more like SJ than SF because you get too used to seeing densely packed layouts, and the large projector on the back wall which gives an overall lively feel(though I guess scenery isn’t as hip as say, the black-and-white movie trailers projected at the Alchemist) [THEVERDICT] I liked it! Bond is perhaps not as ratchet as what you’d come to the Mission for; rather it’s more SoMA-esque(actually reminded me a lot of Singlebarrel in Downtown SJ). But then again, since it is located in the Mission you can sound ratchet in telling people you went to bars in the Mission, without having to deal with ratchet bars of the Mission. And yes, I hate the word ratchet too but it is just too fitting of a word choice.
