I was so disappointed with this place. Waited forever(15 mins) for one boba drink, the«almond milk» drink was totally and completely artificial and tasted disgusting(I’m not a picky person!), the restaurant was very dirty and the woman was trying to serve about 12 people by herself. Skip this place and maybe go to the chain up the street?.. «Quickly»… Maybe because they’re a chain, they have stricter standards to follow.

I think this placed closed down and now its replaced with an expensive powdery clone. I think it must have gone through restoration but thats not the name I see in the company as of yesterday. I will check back fellow Unilocalers!

If you happen to be in the tenderloin sf area on a hot day, dry heat, and Vietnamese three colored drinks or Thai Singha beers aren’t doing enough for you, try the Aroma café, it’s a great place. It’s got that neighborhood café feel with a casual environment, to that of a grab and go coffee shop. I would definitely get their boba bubble milk teas. Either a regular milk tea flavor, coffee flavor, or anything in the tea category, this place does a good job. There are many places that have bubble milk teas that have no tea flavor, but this place emphasizes that tea category. So no milk tea should taste like coffee mate. The pastries and sandwiches are yum and there are also other nice drinks like coffee, espresso, etc. It’s good to have this joint in town, gives variety.

Came to the bay to visit my sister last spring. This café was walking distance from our hotel, so came here for breakfast. It was quiet, the breakfast croissants are fantastic, so was the tea, which was a simple prepackaged teabag in a to go cup. I forgot what I ordered but I remember the price being reasonable. Would totally recommend!

They maintain a clean and simple café in the heart of the dirty dirty loin. Good for a quick snack or cup of coffee.

I love having this place around the corner — their bagel sandwiches prove crucial for helping relieve those Saturday/Sunday hangovers. I’ve also had their sandwich and they are great too. They offer good coffee, fast friendly service, credit/debit, lots of variety and a view of the interesting characters that inhabit Larkin st. The great thing about this place is that it’s family owned and the people who make your food seem to be the owners and you can really tell they appreciate your service. Give them a shot!

Totally solid spot for a cheap lunch in the ‘loin. I get the same thing every time — a vegetarian sandwich sans cheese. It’s really good and BIG. Comes with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, pickle, onion, avocado, may and mustard. That and a small bag of chips runs me $ 6.75. Not bad. I haven’t tried any of their breakfast stuff, but it looks like they have more variety of breakfast-y type things. That’s the only reason I don’t give 5 stars — a few more lunch options would be good. But, what they do have is tasty and the girl that works there is super sweet.

Spiffy new spot in the Loin. Tasty(but strong, watch out for the jitters!!) Vietnamese iced coffee, pastries, sandwiches. Chicken salad sandwich on croissant is where it’s at. There’s a snack bar and a comfortable seating area if you want to eat there.

Aroma Café is a nice little clean spot. The service is always good and friendly. The have a nice selection of sandwiches at a reasonable price and are always fresh. My personal favorite is their Veggie sandwich, which includes: tomato, lettuce, cucumber, avocado, pickles and red onion, with which I choose to have on rye bread and include swiss cheese! Super yummy and very filling. I have yet to try their pastries, quiches, or salads, but look forward to tasting them in the near future. The décor is friendly, inviting and a welcome from the messy tenderloin surroundings. I will certainly continue to frequent this charming little neighborhood establishment. It certainly has heart.

Aroma Café steps into Prime Dip’s former space with average looking offerings: –breakfast sammies, –speciality sammies, –salads. –lunch sammies(various meats) –expressos, hot drinks. –free wifi and free soda with lunch sammie. drink: coffee(m. hawaii blend, «america’s best») –not so bold, mellow, non acidic, better than the regular french roast. crumbs: –looks like generic meats used for sammies, didn’t see any meat signs. –very friendly, smiling service.

After seeing the photos and reading the five stars reviews last week while I was on vacation, I decided to check out the place when I return to work. I was not able to stop by yesterday and had bought lunch elsewhere. Thus, I placed a reminder on my desk calendar(at work) to get my lunch from them today. Aroma Café has breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, daily specialites(sp? or is it specialties?), salads, assorted flavored expressos, hot and cold drinks. Breakfast items include croissants, danish pastries, muffins, donuts, pasties(not sure what this is but there’s fiesta — egg & potato and breakfast — egg and sausage) and bagels. The ladies are nice and helpful. Ambience seems comfortable. I glanced over the catering menu and decided I would like to try the chicken salad sandwich on croissant. Sadly to say, they were out of croissant, so I have to select another type of bread. Okay, make that a chicken salad sandwich with whole wheat bread to go, please. So far, so good… possibly 4 star. Walking back to work, I was thinking I got a pretty hefty sandwich and a free bottle of water for $ 6.25 + .55(tax). Not bad for lunch at less than $ 7.00. Lo and behold, the chicken salad sandwich had three slices of bread. That is too much bread for me to consume. I only ate half of the sandwich sans the extra slice of bread in between. The chicken salad was fresh and tasty, but the bread wasn’t pillowy soft and the outer edges were slightly dry and hard. IMO day old bread is good for french toast, grilled meat/cheese sandwiches or bread pudding. This resulted in my knocking the star down a notch to a 3 star. Three slices of toasted wheat bread for club sandwiches are fine with me. In the future, I will make sure to let them know when I want any kind of sandwich to prepare it with two slices of bread. I will also return soon to sample their croissants and muffins; their pasties(egg & potato); their Grace Kelly and their mushroom quiche. Thereafter, if I am thoroughly satisfied with what is being offered, I will consider raising the 3 star to a 4 star. Then, I am in the midst of planning a mid-morning snack party at my job next month(middle of the month) consisting of croissants, danish, muffins and cookies. I am considering this place; however, the cookies are coming from Aroma Bakery & Café in downtown Oakland — a business that has been around since January 1990. Consideration is also being given to Aroma Bakery & Café on their croissants, danish and muffins. Aroma Café — convenient, it’s close to my office building. Aroma Bakery & Café — a business that I am familiar with after all these years in Downtown Oakland and near the 19th Street BART Station.

The huge GRANDOPENING sign should have initially attracted my attention, but the adorable teddy bear embossed on the front window was what enticed me to go into this cute café. Like some of the Unilocalers have already said, the place is clean and brightly lit. They have several tables available for patrons to dine at and they also offer free Wi-Fi. Aroma Café offers a variety of breakfast and lunch sandwiches. What’s unique about this café is that you have the option of your«sandwich» to be on bread, bagel, or croissant. Changes or special requests can be made with your order, free of charge. In addition, they also offer salads, daily specials, and a plethora(OK, slight exaggeration) of iced/hot drinks including but not limited to coffee, mocha, cider, tea, espresso, etc. I opted for a GREENSALAD(lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onion, and cheese) $ 4.75 and a THAIICEDTEA $ 3.25. The salad was very crisp and fresh and I absolutely LOVED the Thai tea. It was the perfect amount of tea and half & half, not overly sweet either. The price range for a sandwich ranges from $ 2 to $ 8, price is relatively low compared to the big portions(refer to the Unilocal comment below– complaint for the EXTRA slice of bread on the sandwich), the owners are sweet and accommodating, I will definitely be back.

I like to try new restaurants so I was really excited to see that a new sandwich shop had opened close to my office. At Aroma Café I had my first(and I hope last) egg salad sandwich made with 3 slices of bread. What? The egg salad tasted fine but that is way too much bread for an egg salad sandwich! I might return to try their Thai iced tea. Or to ask for a sandwich made with just 2 slices of bread.

I love their home made Tuna salad sandwich. It is real Tuna! It is best Tuna salad sandwich I have ever had. Ladies in the store are so sweet, and important thing is WiFi Free, I surf as long as I can, not like other coffee shop. I am certainly back again!
