I worked in, and later, owned a floral business years ago, &, like many other florists, I didn’t like to have to use services like FTD or Teleflora in order to get arrangements, etc. sent to places across the country or simply out of my delivery area, for many reasons. However, at the time, it was the best way to accomplish it. Bloomnation presents itself as an alternative to using those services. I’d recently heard of it & decided to use it to send flowers to someone in a small town in PA. After picking a picture of an arrangement by an actual florist supposedly in that area, I proceeded with my order & filled out ALL the info, only to find that the recommended florist(s) DIDNOTDELIVERTOTHATAREA, as the site said! In fact, every«suggested» florist who supposedly delivered to the area I was trying to send to were actually all the same florist, & not only that, but this florist was listed as a florist IN the town I searched, but was about 40 miles away. I instead ordered online from a very good florist that I normally use, & who I KNOW delivers in that area both because I used to work for them & because they actually ARE located IN this town. There also doesn’t seem to be anyone at Bloomnation who actually knows anything about flowers/arrangements based on the categories & other things wrong with this site, things that someone IN the floral industry would certainly know. It doesn’t appear to be for people who just want to send flowers to someone in a different area,(like Teleflora, etc.,) or, if it is, it doesn’t make it any easier than Googling the area for florists. I just did it and found several other florists’ websites besides the one I ordered from, with much less hassle.
