This club is closed, it is no longer located on 9th street but they do have events at other venues from time to time.

if ya wanna experience something outside ordinary bar/club scene, this is the right spot. it’s a very unique place with artsy, somewhat grotesque, a bit of hippie, a bit of techno, a bit of tim burton feel. And every corner you turn inside(literally), you will get a different vibe. and you get to meet lots of interesting people. they did serve drinks in a form of donation and the rooftop is open for smoking stuff ;) They have several big rooms with different small exhibition and also different types of music so you can dance on whatever tunes you feel like. And lots of little makeout spots. Be warned. Time flies by inside and next you know it’s 4 am like a world in a different dimension.

I really enjoyed every party I went to at the Anon Salon. I really enjoy the art they have around, the regulars I see every time I go here and the fact they have smaller rooms to hang out in and actually hear a conversation. The roof is also a great place to hang out and cool off. Great place to meet interesting people, especialy burners, and party till 5am! Make sure to bring Cash!

Unilocal thanks, but please don’t.(on the flyer) Really, you can’t resist. Two small things to say, read the other reviews, practically still the same. Be sure to bring cash and burner gear or whatever theme the night foreholds. Black and light ball was pretty amazing this past weekend, although bathroom conditions were bad and falling down on the stairs. So, be careful and hold on the rails. FYI: Be careful not to leave any personal belongings unattended. I saw someone try to steal someone coat. =)=)

I was here for a private party this weekend, and I had a blast!(Holla!!ChAmy!) Love the labyrinthine rooms and Burning Man vibe. The rooftop is always a bonus on a nice SF night, although the stairs are slightly treacherous when you’re fueled by champagne and vodka and wearing high heels. Anon Salon prompted me to do the following things I haven’t done in a long time: –Wear a glowstick necklace –Flirt with a French guy –Take pictures of people making out in corners –Stay out past 2:30(what? I’m old.) –Tequila shots I’d go back any time. I can see how this place would make every party feel like a private party.

Any place that serves liquor till the wee hours of the morning gets 5 stars in my book. I have no idea how they do it, but I ain’t questioning it and will more than gladly support it. I don’t know what took me so long to finally come to this place but at least I can say that I have been here. And literally the parties here are house parties. It’s a renovated house with multiple rooms of fun and filled with interesting people in various altered states. You must come with an open mind. Sure the music was subpar last night and the sound can use work, but the overall vibe and feel of the place makes up for it as it makes me feel like I am at home and in my comfort zone. Venues such as Anon make me realize why I don’t like going to clubs that play top 40 and hip-hop(granted I do listen to that music) because clubbing in those types of places just doesn’t compare. And if I could give Anon another star I would because the rooftop terrace is insanely awesome. There is just something about terraces and being under the night sky that just gets to me. You just have to experience it to know what I mean. God bless that rooftop. They only other place that rivals it is the End Up’s patio.

Anon Salon, you are so fun. .. I like getting sweaty with you, I like getting down with you. I like feeling my face melt off like I used to back in the day on «party favors» but while totally sober. I like the cuties and the weirdos that you attract equally. One request: can there be a «slimeball» filter at the door? You know the dudes. There are like, two of ‘em, and they hit on everyone and act like it’s okay to rub strangers’ backs just because they’re in a furry vest. Fuck those guys. They make the ladies(and some dudes) uncomfortable. They make all the innocent arm grabs and shakin’ yo booty at a stranger feel grosser than they should. Make them go away? Please? Then I’ll come back every month and dance all night and spread my good cheer(but not my legs — get your mind out of the gutter) for you.

«I can take all of your dreams Transform the way you feel Make life a little easier For you to face your fears As the evening starts to crawl Dark shadows on the walls Are dancing and inviting you To come and taste it all If you want to take a chance Seduction’s in a glass Taking you to another place Come taste this lunacy Be blinded by the green faerie Creeping out of your glass Into your mind Then you can really see I can take all of your fears Transform the way you feel Welcome to the spirit world Where all your dreams are real If you want to take a chance Seduction’s in a glass Taking you to another place As the evening starts to crawl Dark shadows on the walls Are dancing and inviting you To come and taste it all I can take all of your fears Transform the way you feel Welcome to the spirit world Where all your dreams are real And now our trip to wonderland Has finally come to an end And if you’re not completely mad… I will be your best friend» One of the few after hours places, outside of my friends houses, worth staying up for.

Anon Salon is the only place in my opinion that is worth going to bed at 6:00 in the morning for. Ususually on the weekends, I’ll start getting tired around 1 or 2. By 2:10, I’m usually snuggled up in my Overstock 1000 thread count sheets, and out… but…on Anon Salon party nights — I push past that 2:00 wall and venture past it, well into the morning. I’ve been going to Anon Salon for a little over a year now. Each time I go, I am never let down. I always have a great time meeting all sorts of people, hanging out on the rooftop on gorgeous brisk nights, shaking it to the unbelievable drummers pounding their drums on top of eneveloping reggae and house beats, and even enjoy the bathroom lines, which are always peppered with random conversation. Lauren captured Anon Salon perfectly in her review. Though it is hard to explain with just words. Each room of the vast and entertaining space has a different vibe. A different story. Throughout the space there are always ever-changing artistic touches, and the costumes, and lack of, which you will see throughout the night on many a burner are often art in themselves. There is a cover for Anon Salon, and usually I’m against paying big covers, but Anon Salon is worth it. Just be sure to rest up beforehand, bring some water, and bring an open mind — and you’ll be leaving Anon Salon with a tired late night smile.

I was jonsing a bit last week because this year I’ve decided to skip out on the Playa in exchange for yoga and better budgeting practices. Soooo I decided to head over to the Anon Salon for the pre-burning man party to relieve my itch. You know that scene at the end of Goonies where the Pirate Ship comes sailing out into the water and the Sheriff has just been berating Chunk aka«Lawrence» about his tall tales and then he looks up and he sees the ship and he says, «holy mary mother of god.» Well, that’s pretty much what happened to me this weekend at the Anon Salon.

OOOHH! What’s that? Where are we? What’s in that room? Every time I come here I feel like I’m stuck in a combination of Alice in Wonderland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Fraggle Rock and any other crazy confusing movie you can think of. Walking up the stairs to the Anon Salon, you think it’s the entrance to any normal SF apartment. Maybe it was at one point in time, but what they have done to the insides, with the decorations, maze like structure, multiple stages, black lights, and stripper pole, makes for a crazy party. Its got a burningman-esque vibe to it… seeing as though most the DJ’s who spin are part of camps, and most of the events are actually fundraisers, obviously burners are going to go… so if you cant handle the furry chaps and costumery… get out of the kitchen, this ain’t the place for you. However, if you have a bit of a freaky side, like to dance to electronic music of every kind, enjoy dressing up, and have an affinity for people watching… come on down, you might belong here. It’s a crazy space. There are a few single room bathrooms, similar to an apartment. There are multiple coat checks, so if you put your coat somewhere, remember where. There is this amazing rooftop patio, where I tend to spend a lot of my time, people watching, smoking cigarettes, and there is a bar up there too. In addition to the rooftop bar, there are a bunch of satellite bars throughout. Now, it is cash only, so come prepared, and the cover is usually $ 10-$ 20, so if you don’t pay covers, don’t come. The one thing I don’t understand is that I think this place doesn’t «really exist». The Climate Theater is what it’s called from the outside, the rooftop has high walls so the street can’t see it, and the bars manage to sell liquor past 2. How? Is this place just a figment of my creative imagination? Maybe it’s all a hallucination. After all, they are known for their Absinthe bars at every party, as well as the specifically thrown Absinthe parties. Does it still have the psychedelic properties it once was believed to hold? They do poor it proper… with the sugar cube and the fire… who knows what other goodies it comes with.

I wish I could give you a million stars. Remember Moulin Rouge? You are it. I’m serious. You’re crazy, confusing and amazing. I went to the«FreqOutDeMayo» party on 5÷5÷07. It was nothing short of brilliant. Got there as things were just getting started at 10:30, already having imbibed a little too much in the tequila. The $ 10 cover was worth every peso. A short descriptive of my evening: Greeted by Mad Max, had some absinthe and was given a tutorial in the different kinds and way to drink it, watched an art film, sang crazy karaōke in the karaōke room, danced in the dance room with my face projected on the wall like I was the Wizard of Oz, totally ignored the live band room, sat on the rooftop deck with friends and played with a giant styrofoam penis, drew on the art wall, had a pillow fight in the pillow room(I lost), played with stuffed animals in the stuffed animal/black light room, got lost several times in the maze of rooms and sea of costumed partygoers, made friends with a man wearing only a mask and a see though G String, was served graciously at several of the stations(no attitude!), laughed at a lot of people(I’m rather immature), made an enemy at the art wall with a snarky non-artist, on and on. How did Anon Salon creep into my mind and then build my fantasy playroom? One of the best nights I have had in San Francisco was here. I plan to go back for the next AnonSalon party on May 26. Seriously. They have my highest endorsement as entertainers, promoters and good, fun people. ******************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************I would give you all of these stars, if I could. ***************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************
