This truck is expensive for the quantity of food they give. Taste is OK .not that great $ 3 worth of food for $ 9. Not going there again as there are lot of options!

Wow, the samosas and sauces were amazing! I’ll be back! It’s nice that the line wasn’t long, and the people working inside this food truck were kind and friendly. It’s a nice location in a park and lots of other interesting things to do in the area.

Curry Up Now is a a pretty solid benchmark for Indian food trucks. «Meh. I’ve experienced better.» definitely applies to this truck in comparison, hence a rare(for me) 2-star. It feels like they’re taking shortcuts to dish food out faster, but they don’t really draw a large crowd so speed shouldn’t be a big concern. I think if they made some of their dishes to order, they could easily improve quality a bit. Paratha Fold: This reminded me of something from Taco Bell. The abundance of wilted lettuce was the biggest turnoff. Since they churned out the fold so fast and the lettuce was so limp, I surmise it must have been pre-made well ahead of my arrival. The chicken tasted more stewed/pulled than baked in a tandoor(as mentioned on the menu). The only other ingredient seemed to be basmati rice, so it was pretty bland. The surrounding paratha was ok, not greasy, kinda like a thick whole wheat tortilla. Samosa: The samosa itself seemed standard. I didn’t like how they just had it floating in a pool of tamarind and cilantro chutneys. By the time you bring it to some place to eat, the bottom of the samosas are soggy. I mean, it’s not like a chaat or anything, so why not serve the sauces on the side to apply as you’re eating?

Unfortunately as mentioned in another review the Paratha aren’t made to order — and because they are wraps this means that they are wet and soggy, mine fell to bits in my hands instead of doing its required job of holding the filling in place. How long would it take to make a wrap to order. a minute at most?

It’s rare to find an Indian place that serves cage free chicken so I decided to give these guys my business. I ordered the Paratha fold, I hand him the money and he hands me the sandwich immediately… ok. I bite into it and not only is the bread soggy with the grease, there was hot ICEBERGLETTUCE wilting in that thing for who knows how long. Pretty nasty guys, pick up your game up and make sandwiches to order.

Time: 3:17pm/66°F sunny Purpose: With an hour and half to go before weekend starts for me. I headed to ferry building checking out new tenants that recently ink deals. Set-up: Food truck itself, a trash can, two folding convention tables with matching chairs. Truck nestle between two palm trees opposite side of Justin Herman Plaza. You’ll see that truck because it’s the only truck on that spot provided that its mon-wed. Commuters will see it as they walk to catch the ferries. Staff: Two guys about late 30s to early 40s. One tends the pick-up window other does cashier. Cashier guy was friendlier than the guy cooking/prepping food. I have no trouble of what so ever with them. They just seems to be on the grouchy side. Wasn’t all that engaging when other customers walks up. Didn’t hear how can I help you? Not even a how are you? The patrons themselves have to strike up convo with these two before they would get into the act. Cleanliness: Grade B, some expected filth but, not a biggie. Folding table has dark residue stuck between the deep gouges. Trash can can use a little bit of hose down. As for inside the truck? Good thing it was a bit higher as, I couldn’t see whats behind there. Questionable or probable we won’t know. Eats/Drinks: A order of samosas 2pcs $ 4. Comes with cilantro and tamarind dipping sauce. Nothing out of the ordinary just basic samosa stuffed with potato and veggies wrap in puff pastry then fried. Its quite fresh made to order has pleasing flavors to the taste. With dipping sauce its even better, I just like the cilantro sauce. Didn’t care for the tamarind. I was suprise to find its not even that greasy as, my fingers shows little. Unbelievable as thats a first time I touch samosa without slippery greasey fingers. Tasty snack on the go! Main Features: Chai & samosa combo and chicken tikka masala. Products/Services: Samosa, paratha fold, sabzi, chana masala, kofta, chicken curry, lamb curry, chicken tikka masala, pakora boat, gulab jamun, phirni pudding, mango lassi, hot chai, chai & samosa combo deal, assorted sodas/juices, bottle water, cold brew coffee by Starbucks. Punch Lines: Pleasing flavor, minimal seating, cash only, mon-wed only, zippy service, modest cost, casual and delicious, light bites, snooty service, addictive, can’t go wrong, nothing out of the ordinary, tucked away in JHP. Tradeoffs: Annakoot brings you as close as possible Indian food and drinks to that of places in the TL area. However, you won’t have to pay exorbitant Fi-Di prices to have it. Final Thoughts: It’s not the best Indian food or as formal as other places. Consider it a quick snack on the go while leaving tummy space for the bigger meal. Who would’ve have thought, Indian combo deal for snacking of samosa & cup of hot chai will cost $ 3.50. Overall not bad, staff could’ve been more engaging though.
