Just grabbed breakfast here. The space is really cute and the perfect place to get a quick sandwich or pastry. I’ve lived down the block for a year so I figured as I move to a new neighborhood, I might as well finally try this place. After all, I’m not at risk to get addicted to a bakery if I’m 2 miles away, right? I ordered a tomato, egg and cheese on an English muffin and a large coffee. With tax, this came out to $ 7 which seems more than fair. They got my order together quickly and within 5 minutes I was chowing on my sandwich. Some things to know about me: I’m from New England where making a good breakfast sandwich is an art so as a result, I’m pretty picky about them. The one from Andersen was… meh. My main gripe is the kind of cheese used. It seemed like it was American cheese which is a big no-no. The egg was one of those weird scramble patties which is disappointing. They did give a nice slice of tomato and the English muffin it was on was definitely homemade and delicious. The coffee was fine and cheap, especially compared to the Starbucks across the plaza. This place definitely has regulars which adds to an interesting vibe. During my visit they seemed to know on a first-name basis everyone who came in which was nice. Their customer service seemed to also be great. A woman mentioned to one of the employees that her breakfast sandwich was burnt and they offered to make her a new one but she declined. They brought her out a free pastry anyway to make up for it. I thought it was very thoughtful and sweet. Overall, it was fine. I wish I had gotten a pastry but eh, healthy eating. If you’re in the area before anything else is open(they open at 6), it’s worth a stop but if you have other options(like La Boulangerie de SF or Corridor Café), go to those

They make their English muffins in-house and their samples are da bomb! Finally decided to check out this neighborhood place after constantly smelling their bread on my morning walks with my pups. This place didn’t have stellar reviews, but they definitely work for me! Service is pretty fast, and selection is relatively good(for a bread place). The bread I got from here was good as well and lasted a long time. But that scrambled egg with cheese and tomato hits the spot for me! It’s good to know I can still get a good deal on a breakfast sandwich in the area without breaking the bank. Likes: –samples galore –homemade English muffins! –fast service –relatively inexpensive Dislikes: –baked goods are addicting(but this is a good problem to have)

A-OK spot to get a sandwich and pastry. I especially enjoy their chicken salad sandwiches and fruit pastries. The chicken sandwich, though chilled, has good mayo and purple onion flavor. Pastry has the perfect level of flakiness, and the sugar glaze is nice. Price is reasonable. I dont enjoy their coffee though. This Andersens has places to sit.

Stay away at all costs. Their pre packaged salads looked like they were prepared in 1995. Chicken looks so disgustingly manufactured and inedible, lettuce leaves are yellowing and wilting, and the Parmesan cheese smelled so abnormally foul. Sadly I received food poisoning from their Caesar salad. I won’t be returning ever.

This is a very small and clean establishment that offers a meal on Market Street for under $ 10 even with tax. Service is usually pretty friendly and no-nonsense. Pickles are also self-served and free, hence I cannot deny this place 5 stars.

I must admit I was not a fan of this place in the beginning, but the employees have been very nice to me since. The service isn’t bad and the coffee is good enough for me to enjoy. The pastries aren’t too bad either!

Purchased the bbq chicken sandwich for almost $ 9. The chicken did not have a nice grilled appearance. Looked and felt as if it was under heated. The look was not pleasing to the eye. May have been the cook because I have had it a few times before but this time it just wasn’t it and for almost $ 9.00 quality should be better.

Always messing up my order ALWAYS! Whats so hard about sausage tomato and cream cheese? They always put either egg in it or no sausage. Now I guess i have ti check my food before going back to the office because its so hard and complicated. And dont get me wrong, the food is good, but this is my 3rd with a messed up order, out of 9 times that I have been here.

_Walked in and loved the simple and clean look _Employee informed they were out of quite a bit of options. _Ended up ordering the turkey and mozzarella and I’m pretty disappointed. The bread is great, but the sandwich is dull, no extra perks(chips, salad, etc). _They don’t have a stationed music station, instead have the radio playing with tons of advertisement breaks. _water cups are way too small, why?

I like this place in the morning because there’s almost never a line, the sausage breakfast sandwich on focacia is always toasty, and the coffee is good. It’s an escape from the hustle and bustle of the streets where I can chill before starting my day. My only issue is that the cookies are far from amazing. Otherwise, thank Andersen Bakery!

I’ve purchased their cranberry walnut bread and it’s been 5 star consistently. Its 6 dollars a loaf, but well worth it.

I love this place. It’s got great food, good service, nice seating, it’s clean, and they give you a lot of food for the price. The chicken salad sandwich is my favorite so far, but I like everything I’ve had so far. Apparently some people have randomly had bad experiences there, but I’ve always been happy. Not a lot of other decent food in the area, so this place is my go-to a lot of the time.

Eh! I paid $ 8.50 for the chopped Cobb salad and it wasn’t chopped and it didn’t come with all the usual toppings like eggs for instance. I won’t be returning here for a salad at least. I hate wasting money. Update– as I’m eating the salad I taste that they out goat cheese and not blue cheese. Yuck!!! I am taking away another star.

I patronize this establishment often… At least twice a month. My favorite items are: 1. The turkey and avocado sandwich on sourdough bread. The bread is always fresh and the sandwich is pretty tasty, especially when you add the basil and pesto mayo. Yummmm! 2. The oat nut chocolate cookie is phenomenal! It’s a chocolate chip cookie married to a oatmeal cookie, and union is bomb! This is a must-try! 3. The international cheese bread is force to be reckoned with. I’ve never had anything like it. At one point, they stopped selling it, but then brought it back(I’m guess by popular demand). Anyway, it’s a good place for decent food. Oh, and can’t forget about the friendly staff! Thanks guys!

Walked in a little bit before lunch. The sweet employee was helpful in assist in me to choose a snack. She gave me some good suggestions and gave me some samples. It’s dangerous for my hips. I would return to try some more items. Other employees were bland, but the one who helped me was sweet. Their location is pretty clean.

Their chocolate cakes are delish! Never go into this bakery unless you are prepared to gain some weight! I tried their chocolate cake twice and both times everyone enjoyed it so much. Went at noon to pick out the cake and the one I got was the last one they had left at that time. Luckily I wanted a chocolate cake but just in case, I would go earlier for better selections

I love bread; LOVE it. i also love a good sandwich. Andersen Bakery provides both. I’ve eaten here three times and tried different sandwiches each time. The California BLT is my favorite, but roast beef is delicious too. Once you open the door you’re almost immediately on top of the register. Be prepared to order because otherwise it becomes a cluster in front of the door. While the restaurant is small there are spots inside to sit and eat. Though I’ve always taken it to go.

Wir waren hier mehrfach lecker frühstücken ! Uns hat es sehr gut geschmeckt !! Super leckere Sandwiches, alles ganz frisch zubereitet. Die Theke liegt voll mit Teilchen und es wird täglich frisches Brot gebacken. Eine Bäckerei, fast wie zu Hause. Eine tolle Alternative zum typischen amerikanischen breakfast! Unbedingt ausprobieren!

STALE bread at a «bakery». How Ironic. P. S. — If you’re going to make a sandwich with old bread, please don’t charge $ 8: . Do you know how much someone can get for $ 8 in the nearby TL? It will probably come with a side of STDs but just saying…
