This is not a fancy restaurant what so ever, so do not expect the best service. The food is good and very affordable,. They are open every late so if you have mid-night craves this is a good place to go. They only accept cash, which is a hassle. On the weekends it does get very packed with kids going there after a clubbing event. I would avoid going during that time. This is your authentic Hong Kong style café. Do not go with high expectations and will be fine.

We enjoyed an 11 pm snack of fried delights, comprising of calamari, fries, some potato curry, $ 11.95 is worth the cash. Quality food and fried just right: golden brown. Not greasy at all. Kudo’s to the person doing the cooking! At this price point, it’s good value. Décor: adequate for the money. If you want fine décor, you will have to pay for it ! Customer service: ok Parking: fine — hey, it’s 11 pm on a Sunday night!

This place has been in bussines for many years. It was reputable, but perhaps they should consider retirement. The service is the worst in the area! Our server didn’t offer drinks, the table was not clean, the food was just placed on the table, the soup bowl were not removed from the table ad the rest of the food arrived. HORRIBLE service… Will not come back

The quality and flavor of their food has really gotten worse the last few years, to the point where a couple times the meat tasted almost spoiled. Recently I got won ton soup and curry chicken where the shrimp and chicken meat were mushy and had an off smell. I got an iced red bean drink and the beans were sour, like they hadn’t been properly refrigerated. My family has eaten and gotten take out from here for over twenty years, and the food was never great, but it was close to our house and opened very late. But the last few times the food was so bad, we’re going to someplace else.

The only place open during this time 1:30am, so ya, why not give it a try. When we came in to the restaurant, they gave us a few menus. Okay, this is usually the routine if you go to a restaurant. But they left us hanging there for half an hour without checking on us. And we still haven’t ordered our food yet. So I assumed that we have to get their attention in order for them to know that we are ready to order. Then we they finally came and took our orders. Awesome, then she brought us the plates and utensils. OMG, ITGROSSEDMEOUT!!! Food came, DONTEVENHAVEFLAVOR!!! OVERALL, SUCHTHEWORSTEXPERIENCEIN A HONGKONGSTYLECAFE.

Unfortunately, i ended up here with my buddies at 2:00 am … Food was beyond horrible and service sucked … Honestly, i dont want to waste my time to describe what was wrong cause everything was wrong … Soup was salty as f… Fried rice ingredients lacked freshness … Service was slow and indifferent… In addition, their food score is really bad… i never write bad reviews but in this case i feel obligated to warn my fellow Unilocalers to stay away…

I don’t even remember the last time I had abc. I’ve heard horrible things about them over the years like how they failed their health inspection multiple times? etc. Idk but a few friends and I came in the other night around 12am because we were starving and this was one of the few places we knew to be open in the area. I haven’t had any of their dishes in so long so I had ordered a baked pork chop over rice because I remembered that was what I enjoyed here as a child. The service was slow and the ladies working were rude. The food took so long to come out so we asked the person at the register if we could change our order and have it as take out because one of my friends weren’t feeling well. The cashier gave off this really annoyed gesture and reluctantly agrees. When she prints out the check for us, she makes a clear reference to tipping. I was going to tip regardless but she straight up said, «leave tip here.» My baked pork chop was mediocre, the«pork» tasted like chicken. Cheap quality meat. But I have to give them props for making decent sauce for the rice. The rice portion of the meal was pretty big versus how small the pork chop was. p.s, cash only.

Service is super terrible. Call one of the lady to take order and she end going to another table. Order an ABC omelet and fried fish breakfast and we wait for 1 hour and 30 min and it still haven’t come until I need to ask the waitress why an omelet take this long. The fried fish was still not fully cook. First of all we need to wait so long for the food. Second of all waiting for this long and the food is still not fully cook. This is the worst and terrible restaurant I have ever been to. Super would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Went there last night because of late dinner. The waitress who served us was very nice! I want to add one more star for her! Food was okay and came quickly! However, they still need a lot of work on their restroom cleanness! Not sure why is so hard to keep a restroom average clean? 3 stars at this moment!

Been here many times and first time reviewing. It’s the go to place if you are 1) in the hood in an odd time of day, 2) too lazy to think of food to eat, or 3) want to get stuffed quickly. Otherwise, don’t bother, neither does the chef in the kitchen. The food served are put together by someone with no culinary skills. Waiters are there to mingle with their regulars or amongst themselves. Often times, you’ll be surrounded by uncleaned tables. The bottom line, don’t go 1) if you carry credit card, 2) if you want quality food, 3) if you expect great service, 4) if you are looking for a clean place 5) if you want an enjoyable dining experience.

(This review is for the sit-down eatery – not the bakery) ABC Bakery & Café spawns love/hate relationships. I admit that I’m a fan of this place. This establishment has been here for at least a decade. I still remember the time I came here after they remodeled and upgraded their furniture. It’s not anything lavish, but at least they’re maintaining their upkeep, to my surprise. Service is usually hit or miss, which I think many people are put off by what they expect – this is a Hong Kong style café and eatery – you shouldn’t take ten minutes in reading the menu and deciding what you want, especially when there are pictures now(I don’t remember any pictures in their old menus). The waiters and waitresses also have a pretty large area to cover – the inconveniently placed support beams can obstruct your vision, but I’d rather sit a little more comfortably than not. I should note that it’s only recently in my experience that hardcore HK-style places attempt to offer better customer service – I’m not saying it’s not something they should continue putting off, but the attitude and mentality carried over from the homeland. One would usually sit in, get your order, eat, and get out. Owners of small hole-in-the-walls in HK view you as a boob if you’re unprepared and taking up another paying customer’s spot, and won’t hesitate to throw your ass out. Again, I’m not condoning this behavior, especially in the USA where things are different, but at least it’s an understanding of why many people view their service as bad. Though not anything extravagant, the taste of the food hits the spot with me many times – I can taste the authenticity in each dish. Portions are decent and may require you to have leftovers(which is always a bonus for me). Depending on the time of day, some dishes may not be available(my friend tried to order a 雙拼 dish, but one type of meat was out, as it was already past 10 P.M.). This place may get rowdy at times due to its very late hours(closes at 3 A.M. I believe) and a bar being across the street. You may not want to bring sensitive ones during these late night hours as the scene probably resembles a gang scene straight out of those HK-style action movie flicks, but hey – this is a very authentic Hong Kong experience(food and all).

This place can get popular for breakfast; lunch and dinner isn’t as occupied. Restaurant is a little dirty to be honest. My go to is the baked porkchop with rice and tomato sauce. I love the sauce that they use cause it doesn’t really have a strong tomato taste. Also, some of their porkchop has a little fatty part on it, which I enjoy. The second entrée that I also order is the beef chow fun(bigger plate during dinner, smaller during lunch due to happy hour). The beef chow fun can be oily but it’s still tasty. I really love their hong kong milk tea! Although it can be a little strong cause I’m unable to sleep at night. I also really love their iced lemon tea. I wish the drinks were bigger, but both of them go well with the food that I order. Quality and quantity of this restaurant is acceptable. Minus two stars for service, cleanliness, and cash only.

This is a place you can go after going to a club or a bar kind of place. If you ain’t feelin’ denny’s or ihop, you should come here for some Chinese food. The wait usually doesn’t take long which is nice. I’ve came here few times with my boyfriend and friends on different occasions. The waiter/waitresses seated us and gave us a menu. We ordered few minutes later and our food came within 5 minutes. Our orders came super quick which is nice. The quality of the food is eh. I’m feeling generous and gave them a 3 stars. It’s nice that they open late till 3am or so for people who wants to eat late at night. Downside is they don’t take credit cards so make sure you have cash on you.

I might be biased because I’m actively devouring my order while slightly hungover and it being my 1st meal of the day to boot BUT they’re delish. The order was ready within 10mins as promised and they don’t make your drink until you arrive so that the ice doesn’t melt. Pork chops were juicy, tender pieces of goodness and I love any form of noodles that are dressed in an adequate amount of sauce. It’s a zoo during last call. Orders can take over 40mins to hit the table.

What I hope people understand is that Chinese restaurants are usually run this way, and I guess I am just used to it. Waiters don’t acknowledge you unless you flag them down. There’s an atmosphere of mediocrity. But that’s what makes it so great to me. ABC has always been there for me when I am hungry in the middle of the night and don’t want boring processed fast food. Cash only. You can never go wrong with Baked Pork Chop over Fried Rice/Spaghetti. saucy. In my opinion, the Won Ton Noodle Soup has some of the best won tons in San Francisco.

I went here late at night, and even when there is hardly any customers, their service is still very slow. So before anything else, dont expect much from their service. I have to say though, their food is pretty cheap. And this place open late at night, so it’s very convenient if you ever get drunk and need to sober up in the middle of the night. I liked their noodle bowl options! And my davorite was their HK toast. YUMMM! It was sooo good! It’s a must have when you go here. Cheers!

Typical hole in the wall cha-chan-tang. ABC is a chain known for its HK café style cuisine. It is also known for being dirty, having bad service and being run-down. I think every location I’ve ever been to is the same. Sometimes, you just need that kind of comfort food, even if you know you probably shouldn’t eat there. Besides, the food is dirt cheap and you can get anything you want from a menu with lots of variety. Heck, it’s one of those places that stays open til 2am and I needed to have myself a piping hot bowl of noodle soup and nothing else was open, so there we were. I tend to stay with the soupy noodles or lo meins whenever I go to cha-chan-tangs, with the exception of rice soup every now and then. Last night I ordered my usual beef tendon rice noodle(ho fun) soup. Came out just as I expected, no more, no less. The other half got the wonton lo mein. Portions are satisfying and you definitely get bang for your buck. Less than $ 20 for the both of us. Go for the food but don’t expect anyone to come check on you or refill your waters. if you need anything, you’ll have to flag someone down. I wouldn’t recommend even thinking about using the restrooms. Like I said, sometimes you just need some of that hole-in-the-wall type of food to satisfy your craving and then once you have it, you don’t go back for a while.

Let me make one thing clear: Don’t expect much from this place. Lower your expectations, then you will enjoy the food. Cons: –Service sucks –5 waitresses but only 2 working, with the other 3 sitting down and watching TV for the whole time we were there(1hr and a half) –Employees don’t speak English –Employees purposely look down when walking around to avoid helping customers –The dining area is dirty beyond belief –Dirt and bugs on the floor –Tables and chairs are greasy and wet Even with these horrible problems, I’d think about coming back. Because the food is worth all these nasty problems. The food is delicious and fresh. Great portions and prices. Even though we had so many problems with our waitress, the food was pretty good. Better than expected. So if you have the guts to come into this greasy and rude hell hole, you’ll see the food is of the best on Noriega St.
