I am not surprised to hear that this place is actually clothes. The service was horrible, and the food was not as good as expected. The atmosphere was not enjoyable. Our server made it clear that she is not happy with her job. I knew i would never go back here but they had the true buffalo wings in the city(not the good kind)

The food and service and pricing at this restaurant was awful. Plastic forks? Don’t eat here

Congratulations to the Marriott for taking an ideal location right at the convention center; and right down the street from the ball park and failing. We will enjoy looking at the eyesore at the corner of 4th and Mission for years to come. Nothing says revitalization like a boarded up building. This is the sort of success story that the stockholders love. Good job to all. Thanks to local 2, also.

We had a group dinner here not too long ago, and the bill was total BS. We got hit with a «large party charge» of 18%, and then a shady note towards the bottom saying«gratuity not included,» and a line for tip. Not«additional tip,» just«gratuity.» This was a mild annoyance as I found it misleading, but then I did the math three times on the bill, and their large party charge was actually more like 22%! Keep a close eye on these guys. I heard they’re going out of business soon. Not surprised.

I literally LOL’ed when I saw this place had 2 and a half stars with over 250 reviews. Unilocalers are correct on this one! My experience. Although the sign up front says sit where ever you like and you will be served. It was a lie. We sat at a table and no one came to serve us after 15 minutes. Finally the bartender tells us that you have to order at the bar so we got up and sat at the bar. I tried to use my buy one, get one 50% off Unilocal check in offer but he said I can not unless I literally had two beers myself; not order two beers. I don’t know why that mattered but in the end, they tried to charge me full price for all 3 beers and had to get it revised. Overall the service really sucked, food was decent(probably tasted better because I was extremely hungry) and the TVs were not even that big for game nights. I would not come back .ever.

I ventured to this place with my friends the day the 49ers played the Packers in the divisional playoffs in hopes of landing a spot with various TVs. As you approach this place, you realize it was busy and also surprisingly, bouncers/security guards were guarding the entrance and the backdoors. This could be for two reasons: 1) They simply want to maintain the peace since it’s an important game afterall or 2) they don’t want no drunk people skipping out on a check. Considering this place is associated with the hotel adjacent to it, I expected it to be somewhat different from a normal bar. We ordered many drinks. Two cool pitchers of IPA, which sadly got to room temperature rather quickly. Since we wanted to feel the effects of alcohol more than the bloating sensation from the beer, we started ordering mixed drinks such as Jack and Coke, Manhattans, and Ginger Ale with Jameson. Turns out, turns quality was poor. The drinks were too inconsistent and at a cost of $ 9 we expected higher quality drinks. We also had some chicken wings, garlic fries and onion rings, but there wasn’t anything really special about them. Although the 49ers did win and our neighbors in the seats near us were enthusiastic about the victory, I wouldn’t recommend this place as a first choice option. Other places serve better drinks and have a more upbeat sports feeling.

We randomly came in here to eat something light and to take a break from walking around SF. Derek was the most horrible waiter I’ve ever had! After seating ourselves Derek took our drink order. I saw that they served rockstars and asked Derek if the rockstar was the orignal flavor, he shrugged his shoulders and mumbled I don’t know. Next, our appetizers(pork slidders) tasted like something you would buy at the store in the frozen section. Lastly, Derek told us that he was off his shift soon and handed us our bill. We paid by credit card, but did not sign the receipt right away since we were still eating. He came back to pick up the receipt which we told him we weren’t ready and his rude response was that well he was off. From the horrible service to horrible food I have no idea how this place manages to be operational. My recommendation is to save your time and money and go somewhere else!

Very chill place to grab a beer and watch the game. They got so many TV’s around the place blasting every single game they got playing that it’s impossible to miss out on the game that you wanna watch. I love that they have some of the nicer beers on tap here. It’s hard enough for me to find Pliney the Elder, but they have it on tap here which is nice. The food is typical bar food to me. I didn’t really get a chance to try out anything too exciting but the food I did have was passable to me. The service is pretty good as well also. They were pretty attentive to whatever we wanted and we never had a long wait for our food/drinks. Price is a little steep, but hey it’s SF. Probably would be down to come back here, especially on gameday!

The SPOT! TV’s in every which way direction, one of my favorite spots to hit up to watch games. They are accommodating of every game for Sunday NFL. Fair view of every game around the whole restaurant. Tap pitchers are pricey but hey it’s 4th and Market. Garlic fries are perfect every time! I’m still new to finding great sports bars in the City so if anyone has good suggestions, hit my inbox por favor!

honestly, just ok. If I happen to be on 4th and mission, its pouring out and I want a beer with a few friends I will go here again. If I happen to be more than a block away, its nice out and even if I still want a beer at that point I will go elsewhere. Sure its a good place to watch a game, pub food, beer, a lot of space and many TVs. But I could name a bunch of other places with those things in the neighborhood. I will say the beer menu does have some fun choices… and when the giants season starts again it might be a fine place to be surrounded by other fans but I may wait until then. Besides, when I went with a few other girls there was NOONE at the bar, and no one at the tables and we wanted to order a beer from the bar and bring it to the table, when the bartender had this weird process about ordering it not from him but going to the cash register and lining up before we found a table, but then changed the process(I think it went form 4:59, to 5;00) and we then had to wait for a server that almost never came… really, you couldn’t just pour me a beer, you were right there… and I couldn’t have just paid you… my wallet was out.

After a slight delay with our train, my BF and I decided to go grab a drink but we were determined to try a new spot out this time. We swung by here because we figured why not. I had a glass of wine, he had beer, and we split some garlic fries. I actually really liked my glass of wine and the garlic fries were very tasty. But the prices were kind of on the high side. It is somewhat part of the hotel which makes the pricing seem… well, I mean you know how that goes. Overall, I think it’s a decent place — but not enough to warrant the cost of it.

Good location, good food(at least what I have had… always fresh and hot), great beer selection, a lot of games on TV to watch, and usually quite vibrant at lunch time. I am not a fan of having to wait in line at the bar to order for myself at the tables, but it isn’t horrible… just not my favorite for sit down food. It isn’t expensive but not cheap, either…

I think if you just want to grab a beer and watch a game, this place might be okay. But what I found odd was that there are no servers. Not a one! So we went at lunch and by the door there were a stack of menus. We took one and formed a line leading up to the bar to order our food and drinks. Our drinks were handed to us along with a buzzer(the type you get when you are waiting for a table) and you pay at the bar and then go to find a seat. When it buzzes– back up to the bar you go to collect your food. When my food came out, my turkey BLT was dry– it was like the bread was old and crumbly and the whole thing just didn’t work. . although the steak fries that came with it were pretty good. i hated every minute of it. It was like a bar/cafeteria. And when my buzzer buzzed– it wasn’t my food that was ready…it was someone else’s on my first journey up to the bar. And I probably would have had another beer– but who wants to get back into a line to get a beer? I like bars. I like beer. i like food in bars. But i want it served to me…not me being my own server. Eh.

Having been to 4th Street Bar and Grill a few times for pre-movie drinks and snacks, I finally got around to checking it out at a lunch hour when one of my co-workers mentioned it. We headed on over and I was looking forward to trying some actual food there. First off, I really don’t like the arrangement they have for lunch hours. You can seat yourself(which is fine) but you have to go up to the bar and order, similar to a café… not a sit-down restaurant. Yeah, it’s a sports bar/pub, but I’ve never seen service done like this. To further confuse the service, I didn’t see any obvious signs or notices that you ordered like this at lunch hour. We sat at our table for five minutes before the bar guy came over and told us we had to get in line to order. Second, food came out at different times. This is probably tied directly to the method of ordering, where no one can tell that it’s all together at the same table, but it’s a bit disconcerting when one person has their meal and no one else at the table does. If I wanted a food court atmosphere of dining, I’d go to the food court, not a restaurant. Third, as typical to most pubs and sports bars, not a lot of options for veg*ns. Pizza, salad, eggplant burger and grilled cheese are pretty much your options. There’s a few appetizers that are also available, but yeah… not a lot to pick from. I keep my expectations low in this area generally since hey, it’s a sports bar. What are they known for? Wings and beer. The ordering method aside, our food came pretty fast and the server was extremely friendly and nice. Despite it being lunch time, the pub is pretty quiet, although I suspect it gets a lot louder and crazier when there’s a game on. I barely noticed the TVs that were scattered around. The food is decent, typical bar/pub fare. You get a good size amount for the price you pay. When I’ve been here for drinks, the options are pretty bland and boring, but I suspect you’d go here for beer, not mixed cocktails. I’m more than happy to stop in for drinks and conversation prior to a movie(this is right across the street from the Metreon). Lunch, not too sure I’ll be up for going back on a regular basis, but it’s a good option to check out if you’re in the area and looking for pub fare.

Mmmm cool sports bar vibe on a Friday night when everyone around is happy to be off work for the weekend. Great beers. The food looked like regular bar food so I would probably go elsewhere for a good meal(so much to choose from in the area), definitely a cool first stop right off the Powell Bart Station

The place is pretty decent. We came here after our search for a decent place to watch football. The place had good options and had place to sit. The seats were also very comfy and they rotated towards the different tvs. The guys got a bucket of beer which was a good option for them cuz the beer stayed cold. We also ordered two plates of fries which were good because they were thin and light but the ketchup they provided tasted funky. It felt like it was mixed with steak sauce. The service was a little peculiar as well because our server kept telling us to put the menu on it’s stand instead of just on the table. Service could be better. But all in all, we found a good place to watch some football and have some snacks.

I kind of have mixed feelings about this place. LIKES: — It’s a casual all American sports bar — Convenient location(right outside the Metreon, so we walked over after our movie) — Food was decent — I had the margarita pizza(good size and gooey cheese) — Bathrooms are clean — Decent size — it’d be a nice place to watch a game DISLIKES: — Can be a bit pricey — The service was ok. I asked for a recommendation, and our waiter was not helpful at all. «Everything is really good.» — I wanted cider, and the one our waiter recommended didn’t taste very good(wish I remembered the name so I don’t get it again) I haven’t experienced anything too demeaning here, so this place will be a neutral 3 stars for me.

I have to show this place some love! Come on now, its a sports bar. For what it’s worth, 4th Street Bar & Grill has all you need to kick back, watch a game, have some munchies and a brewksy. The fries were yummy and beers on tap were to my liking. Service wasn’t bad on a Friday afternoon. Especially during happy hour! Great location, its bart accessible and near everything! Movies, shopping, and on your way home from work!

This place is okay. I certainly wouldn’t seek it out, but if I had friends staying in a hotel near the area(which was the case when I stopped in) I wouldn’t be opposed to coming back for a quick bite to eat & a beer. They don’t have much of a selection in terms of food, but they do in terms of beer(unfortunately after three days of debauchery I could only manage to suck down a diet Pepsi beverage wise). I had the mushroom & arugula pizza to eat. It wasn’t bad, except for the fact that it was doused in olive oil. I thought it was greasy as it is, but if I weren’t hungover it would have been WAY too greasy. There’s quite a bit of seating both at the bar and the surrounding area. The service isn’t that great, though. They place was understaffed when I was there and our waitress was kind of flustered. I will cut her some slack though because at least she was aware of how slow she was and wasn’t oblivious(she was covering quite a bit of tables so perhaps someone called in sick). 4th St. Bar is definitely in a more touristy area, and like I said, I wouldn’t seek it out, but it’s A-OK nonetheless.
