I have never been so sure of walking out of a salon as I was today. First red flag… When the staff comes out and is so comfortable sharing workplace drama within earshot of clients. It sets a tone for the experience… Then being called the wrong name, given attitude because you didn’t answer to the wrong name and then no apology or acknowledgement that I was treated poorly. Next red flag… The price increases by $ 50 and then when I pulled up the Groupon that brought me in she tells me (on an emergency hair appointment) that that is someone else’s deal and that I should have scheduled the appointment with them. This woman, Atousa, then talks over me after she asks me a question.
At this point the last red flag that drove me out the doors was the fact that she blamed the receptionist for scheduling me with her but failed to take ownership for telling her clients not to buy the Groupon in order to avoid fees. Chaos and aggressive staff.
My only positive experiences were a greeting by a sweet woman in the front and speaking with the manager. I feel bad for having to leave such a bad review but if it wasn’t for the manager I wouldn’t have given any stars. Maybe go when the staff can get it together!

Finally braved up the courage to lighten my very dark (black) hair and found Atousa through a groupon while I was visiting San Diego. Looking for highlights for black hair is very tricky. Atousa was very attentive to my needs and very straightforward on what my options were. She did an amazing job and she clearly knows color. She was fast, proficient and very engaging. You will not be disappointed. I just wish I lived closer so she can do the roots every 6 – 8 weeks. Lol!

Atousa is AWESOME! I always go to her for my blonde highlights. She’s the only one I trust, definitely knows what she’s doing!

So, I cheated on my regular hairstylist and completely regret it. I wanted a different hairstyle and to finally color my hair. What I got is a terrible hair cut and absolutely no color. I found this place through groupon and called before buying it off the site. I called the salon and they asked me to not buy it but the salon will honor it so the stylist can get paid. So I did just that. I went in for my appt and showed the stylist the groupon and asked for color and cut. She replies «if I knew you wanted color I would have got some last night I have no color.» What cosmetologist doesn’t have color at work!?! So I was nice and said I can come back for that can we just do the cut today and I’ll pay for the full groupon now. So we agreed. I told her that I am pregnant. So she started off washing my hair, then gives me a deep conditioning and puts me under a heater! I wasn’t extremely mad because maybe she didn’t know that you can’t sit in a heater while pregnant because you could pass out. I should have known she just wasn’t listening to me since the deep conditioning wasn’t even on the groupon. Now finally the hair cut. I told her I wanted some internal layers, not face framing layers, and no length off. So she began cutting and I thought it was going to look great. Then she dryed it and I got my first real look. The back is clearly longer then the front. One side is clearly longer then the other. And my hair is chopped. I told her about the one side being longer she said «oh no it’s because The shorter side is curled more. So she decided to straighten it. After I said I hate flat hair I love big hair. And then she cut it some more. Needless to say I walked out looking like a doofus. So we still agreed on a new appt for color. However the new appt day came and it was the day San Diego was flooding. So the salon called and asked if I wanted to reschedule. By this time I couldn’t muster up the bravery to have this stylist touch my hair again so I told the lady on the phone that I hated my hair and wanted to cancel my appt. The caller told me that they wanted to resolve the issue and would call me to reschedule with another stylist. To this day no call. Plus it’s been about a month since the cut and my hair still looks like shit. The other day I found a piece of hair that was longer than all my hair. All this because I didn’t like my bangs… now I’m going to have to call my stylist beg for her forgiveness and pay for her to fix this mistake. Just when you get think I’m exaggerating here’s some pictures.

This salon is the perfect place to get your hair done! Everyone is very nice and upbeat. I scheduled an appointment with Atousa and that was the best decision ever! This was my first time getting my hair colored and I was going for a subtle balayage look. My main concerns were that it may come out orange, too blonde, and too streaky. Atousa reassured me that that definitely would not happen. During the process, she made me feel comfortable and told me step by step what she was doing. She was very fun to talk which was a plus. She even offered me drinks and overall made sure I was doing great. The outcome was 10 TIMES better than what I expected! I couldn’t have asked for a better hair colorist to transform my virgin hair! ¹⁰⁄₁₀ would recommend her to anyone!!!

I went to Atousa to get a trim and full highlights and she was AMAZING. She was so funny and sweet and I basically gave her free range of my hair and she did everything I wanted and more. Best experience I’ve had, I recommend her to all my friends.

I went to Atousa today, after finding a groupon for her and reading her reviews. BEST hair experience I’ve had in California, and I’ve been here for three years. It is by far the most beautiful color I’ve had yet. Would recommend her to anybody! So worth the money, and she’s very professional!

Found this place through Groupon. I’ve been looking for a great stylist and today was just my luck. Atousa fixed my disaster haircut. She was fast, professional, no annoying chit chat that distracts. She used to be a hair instructor — bonus! She did charge $ 15 extra for long hair but she’s worth every dollar. Highly recommended stylist! Will definitely come back.

I love going to Vital Hair & Body. The staff is professional and outgoing, and the solon has a warm atmosphere. My stylist, Jill Krogh is amazing. Thanks to her I finally have the hair I’ve always dreamed of. She’s a master colorist, and cuts my curly hair expertly. She’s sweet and professional, and I look forward to seeing her every three weeks for my regular appointment. I reccomend her highly.

I went to Atousa after buying a Groupon for a haircut and deep-​condition. She did a great job not only assessing what would look good for my hair texture and length, but making sure that I felt comfortable with how much she took off during the process (super important to us girls with long hair!). I left with a sleek layered haircut, which I loved. She was fast but it did not detract from her skill. I also never felt like she gave me «less» service because I had a Groupon.

I have been getting my hair cut and colored by Jill for 3 years and she is amazing! So funny, cute and great at her craft! I always enjoy coming to this salon; excellent service and prices. I have referred 4 of my friends to Jill and they were not disappointed. I love the fact that she is easy to talk to and will never badger you into buying products or getting some crazy cut. So refreshing!
