I’m a road warrior always on the hunt for the best flavor, at the right price, and usually paying more than the quality offered. Not today! I walked into Village Café just to grab a cup a joe to manage that drive North from San Diego to LA. In the case these muffins looked like the one’s mom used to make. I couldn’t resist. Here’s where it gets good. For less than $ 4.50 they let me walk with that muffin, a 16oz coffee and a gala apple. To the never ending inflation of the big cities this was just about right. That was the best muffin I’ve had hands down. It was orange cranberry and still a little warm. The coffee: much closer to Inteligensia coffee than the typically maintenance options of Starbucks and Coffee Bean. Haven’t bit into the apple yet, but it looks perfect along with the other fruit for sell. How often does Starbucks stock unripe bananas? Thank you for the nice surprise Village Café. Hope you locals and wayward souls support this. Another reason to stopover, a great sports bar in the complex, and if you turn around and look up you’ll see the original location of Firehouse Brewery.
