This place is finally closed!!! Maybe they’ll put something good in there again. Old time Mission Beachers will remember Wok In, Wok Out that preceded Valentine’s. The one in East Village is good but this place sucked.

Pros: Cali burrito — The carne was pretty tasty, the fries were crispy and as a whole I was surprised… because… Cons: Everything BUT the Cali burrito. The rolled tacos were chewy and stringy, the chips are stale/chewy and the«guacamole» is green sour cream. I’ve come here about a dozen times since the GF lives literally in the next building, but that’s about the only reason I’d ever come here. Oh and for ANYONE, EVER mentioning Chipotle in a San Diego mexican food review, your Burrito Pass has been revoked. Chipotle was founded in Denver and McDonalds had a majority share

Spicy fire eaters will love their green salsa. I got the green instead of the red thinking it would be milder and boy was I wrong. I manned up to my salsa and scooped it with two tortilla chips. Hell yeah. Actually, hell no. My tongue and lips went numb for the next half hour. Really, I’m not exaggerating or writing to be cool or anything. Tongue and lips went numb kinda like when the dentist injects that drugs into your gums and they you can’t feel a thing. Epitome of a bootleg, mom-and-pop shop. I ordered the California burrito and it was decent. The tortilla was delicious but the fries inside were old and extra greasy. The carne asada was good but was poorly chopped. Towards the end, there was a big piece of gross looking beef that I just threw away. When a restaurant purposely puts old fries in a CA burrito, they are do something wrong and they deserve one star, if at all. That burrito probably had 1,000 calories since tortillas alone generally have 500 calories. Well, safe to say, I burned some of it off since I can walk here from my house. If you hate tourists, don’t come here since it’s swarming with them. You can easily spot them: «Excuse me, what is the polo aw saw doh? Do you guys have that mashed sweet corn thing they have at El Torito?» Or ‚“There’s thing mashed up green thing in my burrito. It kinda tastes good but I think it’s rotten.”

PROS: Meat is actually tasty and not dry. The size of the burrito is decent. They use masa tortillas/in house made tortillas that is a bit crispy on the outside. Gives proportionate amount of meat, fries, cheese, guacamole and sour cream. The prices are pretty good considering how they taste. They have real salsa and not just Tapatio. Free chips… kind of. CONS: Parking at these places always suck. They have kids working the cashier who play their Nintendo DS while you order. And then you see them at all other Valentine’s like they have twins or something. Sometimes they close without notice, it sucks cause you drove 20 minutes to get there. Seating seems to always be full. OPINION: Yo… I stumbled into this place drunk off my ass, ordered a California burrito and proclaimed it «the best burrito I ever had.» Now, I know I was drunk, so to be fair, I went back. Ordered the same thing with Horchata and still proclaimed it as «the best burrito I ever had.» Then I told everyone I knew in real life and even some on Myspace. You have to understand people… the meat is actually seasoned and compliments all other ingredients very well. If I had to had my women like any burrito, it would be this burrito. It’s that good. Mmmmmmm.

Love this place, my new place since the Washington Street location closed. I recommend the carne asada… I usually get the california burrito or the carne asada plate and I love them both. Price is great. Parking is not necessarily the best because of the location but if your in the area then who cares. haha. My only complaint is that its not open past midnight which is a bummer after going out.

I’ve lived EXTREMELY close to this place since the day it opened. I’ve made the mistake of trying it a handfull of times. I would HIGHLYSUGGEST avoiding this place. The food is terrible, and beside LAPLAYATACOSHOP is right down the street, and it’s incredible.

This place has outstanding mexican food. In particular they have the best machaca burrito(eggs, shredded pork, peppers, cheese, onions) in town, great carne asada, and great breakfast burritos. Very reasonable prices too — way cheaper than other locals or the ‘trendy fake mexican’ chains like la salsa or chipotle. The only problem with this place is that the fact they seem to make their own hours up — which can be frustrating when you go there at noon on saturday and still aren’t open! Maybe the owner/cooks there like to party late night style! Oh, and they aren’t open that late either. Wish they were — many times I have walked past it at 2am hoping for a sobering burrito!
