First of all, I’ve taken a variety of classes all over town. For me, what makes a great class is it’s all about the music, and having a dynamic instructor so that time will fly by and you get a great sweat. If you want an amazing spin experience, you’ve gotta try Paul H. I’ve only the taken the cycle classes at UCSD through their FitLife program. Paul H. is the best cycle instructor– think studio quality(minus the studio prices). Highly motivational instructor, great music, fun, high energy. He uses a lot of EDM/remixes/mash up. Whether you love or hate working out, you’ll love his classes because of how he does it. Awesome workout! Love taking his classes here– no drama unlike big gyms(stereo and bikes always broken, it’s stinky, dirty, etc). Students are so nice and respectful here. Everyone cleans their bikes after class lol ;) The only down side to classes here are that parking isn’t free(but you can park off campus), there’s no child care and the cycle room isn’t air conditioned(but there are 3 fans in the room). But small price to pay to ride with one of San Diego’s best spin instructors! Fitlife also has a plethora of other classes(ex: Barre, yoga, pilates, zumba, TRX, strength training, etc). Definitely worth checking out. Here’s their website for class schedules:
