These people are the most unprofessional people I have seen in my life. I had an appointment for lashes and they called when I was already there saying that they couldn’t take me in, when they specifically told me to come and that they have time for me. And when I actually got there the lady in the front desk, perhaps the owner, got abusive with me in front of my child because I wanted a business card. I don’t recommend this place to anyone. They are disgusting!

I had never had any problems here before but a year ago I came and got a terrible bikini wax. I didn’t go until their Valentine’s Day Special. My mani peeled off within 2 days. I called and they told me to come in. The staff was rude and condescending and were blaming me for the chipped paint. Plus they said they needed to make «notes» on my account. Long story short. I will not be coming back! It is no wonder that they are always empty! They basically told me i should not have complained because I got a very low price. I was not asking for charity. That was their advertised price! They also added that I had gotten a basic mani. I guess if you want it to last you have to pay full price. I have gotten manicures before and they always last more than a week. I work in an office and I do not use chemicals.

I walked into this store yesterday, having just noticed it while driving by. I was amazed at how bright, clean, cheerful and big it is. I went in for a pedicure and manicure and it was just great. I sat in a massage chair while getting a thorough treatment from two women. They also fixed me some delicious honey and ginger tea. I will definitely go back. Added plus: it’s just down the street from where I live by USD.

After a long week of abusing my skin under the sun, I was in need of some rejuvenation. I was in the area and had some time so I decided to walk-​in for a facial. First thing I noticed was how clean the store was. Ann the manager was very helpful and knowledgable. She answered all my questions and I felt comfortable having my services done with her. I was so relaxed the whole time and was pleased with the results. The wifey was also getting her mani pedi done. Wifey even noticed how bright and clean looking my skin was. #WifeyApproved

Discovered this gem last week as I explored Morena /​Linda Vista. At first glance, I thought it was just a beauty supply shop. It’s actually a full service salon and spa. The nice young lady at the counter gave me a price list, website, and «encouragement to return».
I have been searching for a «more accessible» local (not a franchise) salon for a few months, that isn’t overpriced and overrated like those in Old Town /​Hillcrest (starting at $ 65/​cut).
Thuy (pronounced twee) is THE place. This morning I made an appointment on-​line (as recommended by the young lady) for this afternoon at 1500. I was met at the door and immediately escorted to a chair. Anne cut and styled my hair. She took time to «study» my hair and listen to my expectations. I didn’t feel like I was on an assembly line, being rushed through and out. AND I really like how my cut turned-​out. Oh… and the price!!!— $ 20. You join their free club and members receive 20% off services.
I will definitely return for maintenance and probably other services/​products.

I came here on a whim to get my nails done. It didn’t look open because they have curtains that cover the windows but when I walked inside, WOW it was like a hidden treasure of beauty products!
They were able to do a mani/​pedi right away and let me just say it was the most meticulous mani/​pedi I’ve ever received. They were awesome and took their time on each nail bed. They were very polite and even put on a movie for my friend who was waiting for me.
This is definitely my new favorite nail salon!

We stumbled upon Thuy Beauty and Spa by accident and are completely grateful we did. Being in the area to pick up some medical supplies a few doors down my wife decided to get a pedicure on the spur of the moment. She was treated like a queen and raved about Thuy’s for the next 2 hours. Her pedicure was so good that she fell asleep in the chair and Thuy let her stay there for around half an hour while she napped, now that’s customer services.

I took my 9 month old son here for his first haircut and decided to get one for myself as well. Bad idea. Although my son doesn’t look bad because he is so young, I received the worst haircut I’ve ever had in my life. The woman that cut our hair (although incredibly nice and great with my son) didn’t speak much (or any) English.
After describing to her what haircut I wanted it was clear she was pretty much guessing what I had asked for. I will be embarrassed for at least the next two weeks until it grows out enough to fix it. I wasn’t expecting the world, but I was very let down nonetheless.
Haircuts aside, the staff is very nice and helpful and they have a huge selection of stuff for my wife to look through. My wife will be back to buy supplies I’m sure. My son and I will forever be going elsewhere.

I found this store this evening when I was searching for a Jane Iredale distributor, to my pleasant surprise they were open a full two hours after I leave work. I was expecting the same kind of small neighborhood spa/​salon with low inventory that I have encountered in the past when buying my favorite mineral makeup. Quite the opposite! Thuy has Jane Iredale inventory as far as the eye can see! Some products I had never even seen before!
But that’s not all. They have Murad, Dermalogica, that popular maternity skincare line who’s name escapes me, every kind of hair care line one beauty supply can possibly carry. Every kind of spa body care line you can possibly imagine. They have lots of great finds as well… Like those spa pillows you can heat or freeze to sooth muscle pain. This would be a perfect place to find a nice thoughtful gift for someone who likes to pamper themselves… or just YOURSELF!
I was given lots of help and attention by the woman I presume is the owner. She was able to make very good recommendations and she added me to their stores «club”/newsletter which included $ 10 off a purchase in the month of my birthday, which happens to be THIS month. They also have lots of deals and specials on both products and services. Perhaps I will try a service next time. Maybe an eyebrow wax or a facial? Here’s what I know for sure: I WILL be back.

Got my eyebrows waxed and a mani/​pedi. My eyebrows looked exactly the same i had to ask for the tweezers to pluck all the stray hairs she left behind. Got a pedicure which is okay not the best ive had. Now comes the manicure… the worst ever it looks like my 10 year old neice did my nails. She got nail polish all over my fingers and never took it off. When she was done i asked her to take the nail polish off my skin and they tried to, but then said it will come off in the shower. She didnt make all my nails even and my cuticles are still the same.

This is for the pedicure only… Didn’t last and wouldn’t get another one there.

Decided to bite the bullet and get my toes did. Now, this doesn’t quite go along with my whole manly persona, but the ladies at the Thuy Spa put me at ease.
I was greeted at the door by one of the employees with a smile. While her smile was a pleasant welcome, the facility was just as wonderful. Products as far as the eye could see.
I was escorted into a room off to the side where we got down to business. I was showed a very comfy expensive newer chair where she encourage me to sit and be comfortable. Again, difficult because my manliness would still not allow anything but a straight face and rigid posture. However, as she began her work, a calm did finally come over me and I succumbed to the «comfy» chair and the tender manipulation of my toes.
Prices were very reasonable with promises of future discounts if I was placed on the mailing list.
I will definitely be back. My toes have a model quality. That coupled with the health aspect of personal hygiene makes this a win win situation.
