Came here two days in a row for our little weekend vacation! The food was very fresh and delicious! The service was also very accommodating! We had a party of 9 and they got us all in and feeling very welcomed. Day 1 I had the breakfast burrito with a side of chips and salsa. Day 2 I had the Breakfast Burrito with eggs. Buuuutttttt if you’re in a group bring cash! It’s way easier and they make it kind of complicated if you have multiple cards.

The food was delicious but the service was great! Our waitress was friendly, attentive and got whatever we needed. She even got us drinks to go which I thought was amazing! I got the strawberry/banana pancakes with a side of eggs and bacon. The bacon was cooked just right and the pancakes were delicious and presented nicely. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a new brunch spot.

Grab a friend and one of you get the papas loco with eggs and the other get the blueberry banana pancakes. Savory and sweet. You’re welcome! Also the the mango green tea freeze was delightful! This place is always delicious. Definitely a go to any morning I have free.

Did not like this place. Service isn’t too good. I tried the chicken and apple sausage plate. Too bland. And they are not kidding when they say rosemary bread and potatoes. It was way too overpowering. Will not be back.

Can’t speak to their breakfast, but I went here for lunch and ordered the GINGERSESAMECHICKENROLL-UP. I highly recommend NOT getting this. Let me break it down by the menu ingredients on the website. Large tortilla: Check Chicken: very over cooked with that crappy chewy dry consistency with no flavor of ginger or sesame. Crispy noodles: pretty much the opposite of crispy Scallions: They got this right :) Veggies and Salad greens: 4 strings of shredded carrots and some iceberg/romaine lettuce Thai peanut sauce: completely forgotten(this is what sold me in the first place!) The worst part is that I rarely review anything on this site, but figured if I can save even one person $ 14 dollars of their hard earned money, than it was worth the review. If I find out the head chef was out sick today then I might give this place another shot.

I appreciate a good breakfast/brunch as much as I do a good dinner, but for me I think of breakfast and brunch as two different modalities of the same meal. — I eat breakfast when I have 1 – 2 hours to eat a morning meal before having to do something later in the day or when the party is too hungry/impatient to do brunch. — I eat brunch when I have a lazy weekend morning, no immediate plans and the meal is the morning event. My brunch group must also be in consensus. The Mission is a perfect example for the first scenario. I’ve eaten at 2 of the 3 Mission locations and this was my most recent experience at a Mission restaurant. Our group came in at 7:30 so there was essentially no line. For all three locations, going after 8am the line begins, but this is essentially a given for any good breakfast/brunch place. The parking situation in the East Village is to be desired. One block in the wrong direction and you’ll be walking where the homeless reside. Be careful. On top of that street parking’s limited to 2 hours past 8am. 10th and Island(next to the Padres lot) offers safe and comparable parking for $ 7 for 0 – 9 hours. The restaurant itself is cozy with booths and long tables surrounding the perimeter and tables that can be easily combined in the center for bigger parties. The seats could use a little upgrading because a lot of the seats have their stuffing exposed. Service was also cozy and eager to have the meal started with a cup of Café Moto coffee. As many people have said the«must get» items are the pancakes and anything with rosemary potatoes. I prefer my savory breakfasts with a little sweet treat at the end so what I suggest is to share a stack of pancakes with the party or order one additional side of pancakes. Even a single pancake is huge! — I got a stack of strawberry banana pancakes to share with the table. The strawberry and banana are in the pancake dough with some raspberry drizzle along the side. The pancakes are hot and fluffy, just the way I like them. They are also huge and a party of four can be able to split them easily. — My entrée consisted of hanger steak with rosemary potatoes. Comes with a side of rosemary bread and the eggs can be requested soft scramble. There were a few pieces of steak compared to potato but the steak pieces were chewy. The rosemary potatoes were crisp and full of rosemary flavor. I also enjoyed eating bites out of the rosemary bread — I could easily eat this by itself for a quick breakfast bite. On my next visit I’ll have to try their Mexican breakfast interpretations as they’re also known for delicious Mexican-style breakfast. This is definitely one of the top 10 breakfast spots in San Diego and I’ll happily recommend any breakfast fan or an out-of-towner here to try a classical SD breakfast spot.

I’ve been coming to The Mission for over 5 years now and never had a bad experience with the service or the food(this location and the one in North Park). My most favorite things are their French toast and their muffins! I’m constantly craving these goodies. This location is a bit larger than North Park and the service much quicker. So if you’re in a hurry and want to be seated faster, this place is the spot for you. I’ll be coming back very soon.

I would come here to battle the lines any day. Food is always good, no matter what you order. Trust me, I have tried almost everything on the menu for breakfast. Yum yum yum!!! Only thing for the missing star, the servers. I seem to have to flag them down a lot. I get that it’s busy, but someone should be coming around to refill waters/coffees. That’s something they need to improve on.

I had the hanger steak. People keep calling this to roast beef hash but the staff told me it’s the hanger steak on the menu. Anyways, the beef was juicy and beefy in flavor. Potatoes were moist and fluffy with a nice crust. The dipping sauce was sour cream based I think. Mixed with eggs and you got an awesome savory breakfast There is a wait do get here early

Amazing! A couple of friends and I went to SD For the weekend and found this little gem! The service was great and the guys all loved the micheladas! I personally loved the house coffee! We tried a variety of food items including the French toast and the house scramble plate. Order a side of bacon if it is not included with your menu item you will not be disappointed! Can’t wait to come back!

I love my breakfast burritos and The Mission does a solid job. Came in here on a Saturday morning and the place was packed. People of all ages were apparent in the dining room. The burrito was good sized, hot, and tasty. Burrito comes with a side of chips and salsa. I used all the salsa on my burrito, bite after bite. Service was really prompt and friendly. I ordered chilaquiles to go for my friend and he said they were delicious. I would go back if I were in town again.

Mimosas and OJ for brunch after a crazy night in the gas lamp… Zem Breakfast — egg whites, amazing tofu, brown rice, grilled zucchini and squash. Someone came over to ask what I ordered to get the same thing! Soy Chorizo and Eggs — scrambled eggs with chorizo, black beans(pass), and flour tortillas. Couldn’t finish this one!

This place is very dear to me. I used to go often and was never disappointed. Whenever I’m in Diego, this place will always have my business. Great food, made with the best quality and great service. I wish places like this existed closer to home. I love the quaint setting with the high level of customer service. The food is always the freshest!!! I love it!

Tried this place for the second time and it’s safe to say this place is GOOD! I’m not a breakfast food fan, but they have a great selection of hearty but not totally diet busting food. A great mix of American and Mexican American type food with very generous portions. Pricing is on point and totally affordable :) Food is always hot and fresh and the wait isn’t long(this last time it was super quick!) Parking is tricky and you might need to walk, but it’s good cardio after breakfast lol. My favorite dish is the Desayuno burrito with bacon. Mmmmm Mmmmm. Try it! You won’t be disappointed.

Cute restaurant in what use to be a home! Parking can be difficult here but if you do not mind walking a block or 2, you can find parking near the residential areas. Blueberry Pancakes — A huge 3 stack portion! I could only finish ¼ of it! They are very generous with the blueberries & the pancakes are thick & fluffy. 2 Eggs &2 Bacon — +$ 2.50 Mexican Hot Chocolate — Delicious! I do wish it was served hotter. Great customer service!

Awesome breakfast spot! I’ve visited this location a couple times and never been dissatisfied. They have a Mexican style themed menu with a modern twist. Portion sizes are very large so don’t shy away if your thinking about splitting, or having just enough for breakfast tomorrow! The coffee is also another plus, whether you just want a house coffee or a fancy espresso style drink. This restaurant also doubles as a café with bakery pastries and an awesome coffee selection. They have both inside and outside seating usually, although there were no tables outside today(not sure why). Parking can be a little tricky some days but it is worth it!

We would not have walked by this place by accident as it appears to be at the border of a not so nice area, but I followed recommendations on Unilocal to have a nice breakfast experience. This place did not disappoint us. We had pancakes and fruits plus café latte’s and all was very good! The pancakes filled me up for the whole day as they were such a big portion together with the fruits. If you are looking for good pancakes and sweet stuff, this is your place. However, do not expect a cozy little place — it is a little loud. They have both soy and almond milk — good for us as we both really like soy milk!

This might be my new go-to place for brunch when I am in the area. Boyfriend and I were in town and were quite hungry so we Unilocal this place up and dropped by. Parking here can be a hassle since its street parking or you can park a few blocks down for $ 5 all day(note: there is a lot of homeless people near the parking area). There was a wait time when we got to the restaurant but the staffs were pretty fast because we were seated within 15 minutes. What we ordered: — Roast beef hash: not a lot of beef there but it was good nonetheless. — Chicken apple sausage Hash: It was good! I would recommend this. NOTE: Both these dishes comes with potato rosemary, scramble eggs, and rosemary toast. I have to say their potato rosemary was so goooooood! If I were to pick one thing to eat from here again that would be it. — mango green tea freeze: very refreshing. Good service, good food, and great portion control! Will be returning.

As for the first timer, I knew that this place would be really good because of the great reviews. Being a 4th of July weekend, I thought the wait would be around 2 hours but when I was told around 45 mins and actually we were sat after 30 mins wait, I was very pleased. We got their blueberry pancake with a side of rosemary potatoe along with rosemary bread. I have to say that it was still too much for 2 people and we still had leftovers. If you don’t like wasting food nor like taking leftovers home, I suggest you sharing one dish. Worst case if you are still hungry, you can still order more… It won’t be the end of the World! But overall I was very pleased with the food. One thing that I didn’t like, is the fact that their restrooms are outside and also you would need to grab a key from the hostess. It feels like you are in a middle of state freeway dining in a diner… You get the point. Right?

Delicious food in large portions in a cute atmosphere with great service! Only one visit — we’d come back! The buttermilk pancakes are my absolutely favorite style: light, fluffy and full of flavor. The texture and taste of the crispy rosemary potatoes was just fabulous — soft parts, crunchy parts, lovely ingredients. The toast looked great, but I was too full to try it so I took it home. The hot coca was pretty good and the whipped cream was fresh and real. We came in a Monday morning, so it wasn’t busy at all. Our server was nice and just on top of everything. The food didn’t come super fast, but they make it all from scratch and that’s listed right on the menu — it wasn’t too long and totally worth the wait.

Great restaurant and very near to the Convention Center and the Hilton Bayfront Hotel. Great place if your looking for some cultural food fusion. The servers are always trying to make you confortable. I definitely recommend you the Papa loco. Amazing way of starting the day! Thank you Miguel for the great service.
