this place is closed and under renovation. Has been since late last year.

We are here with a large group for my wife’s birthday and had a great time. The food was really good, the beer list was awesome and we had a blast. We will definitely be back next time we are in SD.

Filet mignon was delicious and cooked perfectly(medium). All-in-one burger and fries were great too. Mixed greens salad was mediocre. Mac and cheese was above average but not super flavorful.

If you’re brown forget it, bad service. Go somewhere else. Be white and in a fraternity. The place was awesome upon first entering. All the bar games a drunk could want. We wanted to keep the party going so I offered to buy a round of shots for everyone in our party. I waited at the bar for about 20 minutes, and in that time span, the bartender(s) avoided eye-contact with me the whole time and served white patrons only that came up to the bar after I had already been waiting. I don’t know if the bartenders in San Diego have problematic asian or mexican customers, but it felt as if the bartenders in this bar just did not want to serve minorities at all. Don’t waste your time here, unless you’re white. If you’re white, come on in, they got the red carpet waiting for you.

Ah, the Marble Room. Who could turn down an arcade bar…-ish? I have mixed feelings about this place. It’s very spacious but it also has an echo to it. It imagine that it can get pretty loud in here and when it’s not packed, you can pretty much hear anything that other people are doing. There are a nice amount of games to play here but there is definitely a lot of wasted space. For this type of bar, I would expect more to play and considering what they are trying to do(add pool and table games), it should be setup differently. Plus there is a seating area for actual dining, which doesn’t seem logical. Marble Room is just trying to pack too much into something that should be simple. They may want to take a trip to other arcade bars to see how to better utilize space, or heck, just call me up! Staff seemed alright, I have not eaten here yet, but there isn’t much making me want to come back and try it. I came in after work to meet some friends and after 1 drink, we ended up going to other places because it just was not that impressive. I would like to come back at night and give it a shot, but in the meantime, considering you’re in the Gaslamp, I’d say this place is worth skipping unless you’re adamant on trying it out or in need of an arcade game fix.

Went here during ComicCon to people watch, and was a little confused. My friend pointed out that it looked like it used to be a space for live music, and the set-up was less than ideal in terms of game placement in relation to the bar. Now that I read some reviews saying it used to be different, it makes a little more sense to me. Don’t get me wrong, I love arcade bars, but Marble Room misses the mark for me. The beers were small and overpriced, and it took forever to get service, not because how crowded it was, but because the bartenders were flirting with patrons instead of serving. I understand trying to earn a big tip, but when it’s busy I feel like emphasis should be on speed. When we finally did get our beers, they were cheap plastic cups that you’d expect to get at a college party. Not only that, but they have a table for giant jenga(essentially 2x4s used as jenga pieces), and every time it fell, I had a mini heart attack — it was super loud! Maybe they’re shooting for a different demographic, but this was just not the place for me. It was too much like a frat party for me to really enjoy, and maybe it was disappointing because it was ComicCon weekend, but I won’t be going back.

Terrible experience! You won’t believe this. I used to love love love the Marble Room! The gorgeous staff, fun historical environment, and nightlife atmosphere. They had a stage for bands and they made great drinks! The other night I walk in expecting the same experience as I’m eagerly telling a friend and we sit down out on the patio, out front on the sidewalk waiting to be served for 15 minutes. Then I look in and around and they have 1 rude male bar tender that looked at us the whole time and didn’t even smile, say hello or ask if we want anything. Then I see a bunch of arcade games. It was like some idiot bought this place and thought up some dumb ass idea. If I wanted to play games I’d go to Boomers or better yet, Dave and Busters! They’re already doing something masterfully, that the Marble Room has failed at. Please bring back the old Marble Room. I’m genuinely pissed something great had to die in the Gaslamp. Terrible Terrible! No one was even in there and we left and went to Barleymash which was amazing. Why fix something if its not broken?

Wow, this took me a minute to remember we came here. That being said once I did I remember having a blast. I’m a sucker for old aracde games from my youth(house of the dead and what not) so when I saw a place that had these old games I was hooked. The best part was that it was only 25 cents per game! That is a crazy good deal. I don’t remember how much drinks cost, but I remember it not being a lot. They also had a good selection of beers, so I was happy. The only reason I ding them a star is that not all the games worked, but they took my quarter anyways. If beers and cheap arcades make you happy then check it out. 45⁄100

This place was adorable! Giant connect four and jenga that stood taller than me! Drinks are moderately priced & there is no cover. Bartenders were friendly(we even got free shots just for coming in). They have lots of old games & fun newer ones too. All the classics!

If you are you looking for vintage 80’s gaming machines, a few beers, and a fun atmosphere in the lamp, this is a cool stop along your journey. This place is not what I was expecting… not that I was disappointed, it just seems a bit out of place. We hung out for about half an hour and had a good time before moving on. Not much else to report.

Love this place! We’re old schol gamers and the marble room has a strong pouring bar, video games, 2 pinball machines and apparently live music sometimes. Super friendly staff. Love it! On NYE, there was no cover and they had a special for $ 30 you could get AYCD well drinks and beers. We did not do that deal as we planned to hit a few more places. We were wishing we’d stayed put, though! Fun place and super nice staff. We will DEFINITELY be returning!

The first time I came here was back in 2010 I believe when John Legend played at Petco Park and I feel in love. The décor is awesome, love the whole roaring 20’s look on the walls and the girls. The drinks are amazing and and the food is great !! All-n-one burger: AMAZING, the bacon, onion rings and egg were a great combination. The fries were lightly seasoned with some kind of garlic season, soooo good. Articoke Rigatoni Pasta: Heaven Sent, the combination of all the ingrediants were put together very well. A little too much articoke for me but the sauce made it possible for me to eat it. Rosie Palmer: A great drink served in a cute little mason jar. It almost takes like a spiked pink lemonade. Definitly a great little spot to try for a romantic date night

I noticed this place has a lot of mixed review or not a lot of consistency, and after my visit, I can understand why. First of all, my service provided by Jennifer was outstanding. She was very friendly, helpful, and on point with her service. Not to mention that she wore these amazing fishnet stockings with a cool heart charm.( ) Of course, this is not to say those stocking swayed nor clouded my judgment for the purpose of this review. After my Unilocal check-in and ordering a glass of Merlot( ), Jennifer suggested I try the Chef selection macaroni cheese with prosciutto a free appetizer with the check in.( ) A great suggestion it was because it was terrific. The cheese was done right with its saucy flavorful consistency.( ) The prosciutto was crispy and tasty, and the rigatoni pasta was a perfect al dente. For my meal, I ordered the Black and Blue Steak Salad with Angus Beef Sirloin Grilled Medium, Romaine and Mixed Greens, Marinated Tomatoes, Red Onion, Blue Cheese Crumbles, House made Blue Cheese Dressing for $ 14.95.( ) This salad sounded much better then it looked and tasted. First of all, the beef was tender and cooked to proper temp, but it had the color as if it sat at the pass to long, the temperature was cool, and it needed seasoning.( ) Also the salad’s blue cheese dressing was mild and tasted good, but it was over dressed and it did not come with the advertised blue cheese crumbles, not a one. Overall, the salad was mediocre at best which was a disappointment, and with a few tweaks here and there, it could of been so much better. The salad was no doubt a 2 star event, and the macaroni a 4 stars, and Jennifer a 5 star out of the park… what to do? A 3.5 stars is where I am settling because the salad had to many flaws to overlook, but I think the place is still worth a second visit.

Nice décor with live music, at least on a Saturday night around nine. Very fast service all around, quick and efficient without feeling rushed. We ordered/shared the«bacon, bacon, bacon» burger. The burger was a nice reasonable portion, cooked perfectly and seasoned nicely. Probably the second best burger I have had in recent memory. We also ordered/shared the caprese salad. The balsamic reduction was nicely done, overall the caprese was very good. If your eating style is well done reasonable portions this is your place. If your eating style is huge portions and walking around with a «doggie» bag, this is probably not for you. I will return; it is a good spot for a well done meal with reasonable portions. Dinner for two ran about $ 25, not including alcohol.

Our bachelorette party last weekend started with dinner at The Marble Room. What I liked: — Theme/Décor: Fun art and the costumes the staff wore was really appropriate with the theme — Checking in on Unilocal will get you a free appetizer — The band that was playing was high energy and the lead vocalist had a great voice — Our server let us each have separate checks for a party of 10 The Food — Everything was really«meh» at best… and we ordered a good variety across the menu. Here are some things we had: Proscuitto Mac-n-Cheese: The sauce was incredibly runny Pulled Pork Sliders: Pork was tender but the sauce was really sweet Grilled Ahi Salad: Nice sear on the ahi and the vinaigrette was tasty Mushroom Blues Burger: It really lacked seasoning but the beef was juicy Bistro Steak: Was really tough It was also really challenging to get a hold of our server throughout dinner. Granted it was pretty busy with other large parties but we would have to flag her down to get service. Over all, it was a «meh» dinner. But luckily we just ordered the bachelorette a few shots so she was happy.

This bar has a pretty interesting past. If you do happen to stop by make sure to read through the history on the menu. The walls are adorned with pictures of naked women and mirrors. The waitress were extremely short skirts but this is a former brothel and they are following that theme so I guess it is fitting. We arrived at about 10:30 on a Friday night with a party of four. The restaurant was not packed and although seating in the bar was pretty full the bar itself was not overly busy. It took a pretty long time for a server to help us. It was 20 minutes before some talked to us and then they didn’t actually take our order for another 10 minutes. We ordered some drinks, the Mac & cheese and the fried green beans. Food was not great:-( There was a jazz band playing. They were ok however they only played 3 – 4 song sets. Would have been nice if they played longer. This was just an ok experience for me so I will not be returning.

Location: The atmosphere was nice. I thought it was a bit on the cheesy side, but as the evening progresses and the lights dimmed it had a better feel to it. They had wonderful live entertainment that I really loved. Live band and a live burlesque dancer. It’s downtown, so don’t expect to park near by. The service: Very polite, but very slow. And I am taking into account that it was a Friday night. My server was at the least attentive to the fact that everything was taking a while and I believe really did her best to provide a pleasant experience. The Drinks: They were tasty. The Marble Room Amber was pretty good. Again, slow to arrive. The food: It was good, but frankly I didn’t think it was worth the price. My steak was good. The potatoes were bland and boring. Then they small tomatoes in half, warmed them up and called it inspired. Meh. I’ve had better. Over all: It is a fun place. It is an entertaining location and you will be treated nicely if you have patience. But this is yet another place that has nice ambiance and mediocre food

We came here at the tail end of a Restaurant Week last year. We had no idea they were participating in RW, but it worked out for us. The food was good, if unremarkable. Really the thing that blew us away the most was the bacon brownie dessert. Not to say that the rest of the food wasn’t palatable, because it was. It just wasn’t something that we’d consider returning to, if given the option. The interior is… different. I get what they were doing there, and with the history that they tried to impart. But, we were put into a table right next to the bar, and right behind a very large, very rowdy group of drunkards. They kept bumping into my husband, whose back was to the group. It was a little annoying. The waitresses were all super friendly and helpful, and the food came out quickly. That helped to minimize our exposure to the drunkards behind us.

This restaurant is tucked away in the Gaslamp District. I don’t think I would have noticed it without my sister finding it. The décor is a bit burlesque(and the menu does explain that the restaurant was part of the«red light district» of San Diego back in the day). The waitresses walk around in corsets but still cover themselves up tastefully with sweaters. My sister and I sat outside to enjoy the cool evening, and the patio was not crowded which was a plus. Aside from that, the food was alright. I had the pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato tots, and my sister had the pulled pork nachos. I tried her nachos, and the vehicle of tortilla chips was better than in sandwich form. The sandwich felt lacking, even though the barbecue sauce had a bite of jalapeño to it. I did leave quite stuffed though.

Where can you go for a little burlesque-like theme and a touch of an old«brothel» theme. With naked paintings of women covering the walls, hostess and waitresses dressed in corsets and fish nets, you feel like you’re in Moulin Rouge, back in the day. My cousin’s 30th birthday was celebrated here and we had a prixe menu for a group of 14. They had a separate section for our group, though couldn’t fit us all in one table, so we had a table and a booth to share with our group. They greeted us with pink boas and the table was decorated with«happy birthday and happy anniversary» with a decent view of the stage where live performances were happening. I will admit that the menu was extensive for what we paid for, we were stuffed and since we brought our own wine, the corkage fee was $ 20, not a bad deal, if you ask me. We had beef, chicken piccata, and salmon and for the cost per person was very decent! The mac and cheese pasta was devine, the caprese salad was very different since they topped it with a very refreshing vinaigrette. The chicken piccata was moist and delicious.(See photos of food attached). I wasn’t expecting a good meal here, but they proved me wrong. Definitely a great place for groups, especially bachelorette parties!

3.5-ish. Great location in Gaslamp. We came here because«restaurant week» was extended and this restaurant was still listed in the«second week of restaurant week» to our surprise, it was not. We didn’t fuss over it even though they should honor it because it’s still actually on the website. We still stayed and tried it. And decide hey, it might be cheaper, and just go next door to Chocolat Cremerie for dessert. Sounds like a plan! Cute restaurant & setting. Girls are dressed like burlesque girls. Corsets type of thing. We got the ahi lettuce wraps, really different but it was good. Needed more lettuce(only 4 pieces of lettuce) but generous portions of ahi. For the main course I got the shrimp scampi and my bf got the wild mushroom ravioli, both were good. The wild mushroom was good for a dish without meat. Portions were good – not too much were we couldn’t finish everything. My shrimp scampi was good, had prosciutto bits and some scallops. Service was alright. So why not 4 stars? Cuz it would have been better for restaurant week since it’s still listed on the website. Kind of false advertisement/deceiving. Wasted a day of RW for us, since we could have gone some where else on the list and come here on a regular day.

This place is soo gorgous! Its a brothel turned restaurant but still has the burlesque 20’s feel to it. The waitresses are all dressed the part and the décor definitely fits the theme with tasteful pictures of scantily clothed ladies on the wall. There is a piano player on a stage in one corner with fushia lighting and chandliers provide dim lighting and comfy intimate brown and gold banquets. We decided to start the night off with a cocktail. The cocktail menu has a good variety with kitchy names reflecting the burlesque feel. I forget the cocktail we picked but it had champagne and elderflower liquer and had oranges in it. But it was very good and not over poweringly sweet. To start we got the mixed green salad. Soooooo gooood!!! It consisted of Orange segments, pistachios, breaded goats cheese and champagne vinaigrette. Perfect combination of ingredients and lots of nuts the vinaigrette was yummy and it compliamented our cocktail really well. Next we has the Beef Skewers. Grilled perfectly with that charcoal taste and served with a spicy chili BBQ Sauce. Finally for dessert… Literally the Best Dessert I’ve Ever Had in my whole entire Life!!! If you are a peanut butter chocolate lover this will be the highlight of your life!!! It’s called Peanut Butter Decadence… Fudge Brownie Base, Peanut Butter and Milk Chocolate Ganache, Dark Chocolate Mousse, Nutella Gelato, Peanut Brittle… AMAZINGGGG… i ate the whole thing and it was sooo good I would eat two!!! Overall Super Restaurant, great vibe, beautiful décor, great food and drinks, and get that Peanut Butter Decadence… it will change your life!

Marble room was packed for restaurant week! It was difficult to get a reservation, so when they offered waiting for a table on the outside patio, I took it! For restaurant week — the Marble Room was nice enough to let their customers choose anything off the menu($ 30/person)! Came here with a friend and we ended up ordering the exact same thing — kind of defeating the purpose :(haha –Ahi Lettuce Wraps– I love Ahi Tuna– so I had to go with this option. Unfortunately, I wasn’t too impressed. You do get a nice portion of chopped ahi tuna along with assorted toppings to wrap in lettuce. Some of the toppings include seaweed salad, preserved lemon, roasted jalapenos, and crispy wontons. Yummy, a little bland… definitely for the health conscious :) –Sea Bass– Its rare that restaurants do fish right but this sea bass was DELICIOUS. Savory and juicy! Fish was placed on top of mash potatoes and topped with a cranberry reduction — sweet and salty yumminess! The ONLY weird thing was the fatty, chewy skin layer left on the fish… bleh. –Peanut Butter Decadence– This was recommended by our waitress as well as few SD local friends. Who doesn’t love dark chocolate mousse? :) Nice surprise to find a little crunch — the fudge is packed with peanut brittle! But after a few bites, it was too rich for me… –Ice cream sandwiches– MUSTORDERTHIS! Ice cream sandwiches made from apple fritters + gelato. OMG crunchy and sweet — PERFECT. YUM!!! Was pleasantly surprised at how delicious everything was! The décor was cute — the grand piano, chandeliers, paintings, and the waitresses in corsettes — a very cool 1920s feel. Would definitely come back again anytime!
