Since the new owners changed things up its been awesome. Mostly 25 – 35 crowd on Fridays but karaōke amazingness!

Great place to stop and hang out. Love the atmosphere. If you are not down for the crowded«downtown» scene, this is the place.

It’s not the bar that makes it 5 stars but it’s a combination of the staff, atmosphere, and the random people that come in. Drinks are strong and fairly cheap and you don’t have to deal with downtown jersey shore douche bags. And of course the 24-hour taco shop. The new owner is renovating the place and it’s already improving.

I adore this place – it’s a small dive bar with friendly, laid-back staff and clientele. This is a great place to hang out after work or to unwind for the weekend. this is one of those places where you can really be yourself.

Okay. Yeah, this place is a short drunken stumble from my front door, which makes it convenient. Plus they’re next door to Adalberto’s which adds some cool points. But, if you come here with high expectations, you will be sourly disappointed. It’s a neighbourhood dive bar with emphasis on the word«Dive»…with a capital D. I do like dive bars, but this place is definitely on the lower end of the curve. The bartender has never stolen from me or double charged my card. I’m frankly shocked that this is a somewhat regular occurrence. Ambiance gets a solid D-. Reminds me of a public toilet. Prices and drinks get a B. The general public you encounter there gets a D– as well. Went in one night to play pool with my boyfriend and was besieged by a drunk disgruntled navy wife who wanted to share her life story with me and everything her«bastard husband» had done to her. I think she wanted to share more with me than that, honestly. I would much rather not be accosted by other patrons with sob stories and unwanted advances. Sorry, but that’s not why I go out. I go out to drink and have fun with the people I go with. We have more fun drinking at home for less money, to be frank. Summary: Douchey, loud, drunken patrons. Needs live music of some kind because Karaōke sucks. People watching is an eye opener. Needs a massive overhaul to realize its potential. I’d recommend a change of clientele as well. There’s cool dive bars, and then there’s The Last Day… not sure what that even means. Still serving in the event of an apocalypse? Okay, I’m down.

Popped in here on way home after a disappointing evening at another bar! Cece at the bar! Very loud and conversational! Lots of atmosphere! Love coming here! My nite of sleeze!

Total dive bar that I stumbled into about an hour before last call. People watching was quite interesting, especially after midnight. Beers are cold, you don’t have to wait long for a drink. They were doing karaōke on a Friday night but I was able to tune that noise out. The best part about this dive bar is the 24-hour taco shop right next door.

Not a bad place overall. Dive bar with a pool table and random stripper pole. They have karaōke at least one night a week. The parking lot is small and shared with the taco shop next door, and some other businesses that are open during typical business hours. It’s usually pretty empty in there, and when it’s packed, it’s typically Navy crowd from the local sub base. Not a bad place overall. Check it out for something different if you’re in the area.

Dive bar for sure! They have a little of everything– a pool table, dart board, karaōke, and a stripper pole of course! I was there for a post dinner birthday celebration– good company with some alcohol makes for an enjoyable time no matter where you are. Place was a little tight, but we still had fun. I didn’t have high expectations, but for no cover and free karaōke, it was pretty cool!

Nothing like ending your night of drunkendnesss at The Last Day. I finished my 21st birthday party at this place because my husband had the urge to karaōke(which never ended up happening). If you are in to dive bars full of military guys then this is your spot. Besides it being a total sausage fest my over all experience was good. You can play a few round of pool, dance on the stripper pole while singing your favorite karaōke song. :)

EXTREMELY loud. Very friendly karaōke lady and waitresses are nice. My card was double charged as well. Totally would have been no biggie, but getting the double charge reversed was impossible. Called, then went down there, they couldn’t do anything bc owner wasn’t there(even though they told me to come in), they called me later and asked me to come back AGAIN tomorrow to fix charge. Really?!

Just a quick note to rave about my favorite Point Loma hole-in-the-wall. This is primo dive bar goodness! You can’t beat cheap drinks and billiards. Oh wait, did you say KAREOKEFRIDAYS? It just got even better.

I love a good dive bar, but this place sucks. It’s so close to my house that I can see the sign from my upstairs window, but after 2 visits I will not be returning. I was laughing to myself as I read Daniel R.‘s review, below because he was so spot on! The first time I visited, I could not believe my eyes as I saw old men being ushered from the back with young, scantily clad asian girls in tow. These girls were obviously working, if you know what I mean. I can see that you do. This place is dirty, dark, grimy, scummy, nauseating… append a few adjectives to the list, it can just go on and on. In addition to that, they are way overpriced for what they are. I also wouldn’t recommend ordering Stella on tap, because my whole group thought it tasted funny. If you can’t even tap a keg correctly, what the hell are you charging me $ 6.50 for? And you can bet, as soon as we went to cash out with our card we met resistance in the form of the non-English speaking bar tender, who incidentally propositioned my friend. If you’re looking to get laid for a price, come to The Last Day(and for God’s sake bring a condom!), but if you’re looking to have some drinks and relax in your neighborhood bar, maybe skip this one.

Okay! I’m going to finally do this review on this awesome place =D Close to my work, so after my night shift, you bet i’ll be there, given that«Barbie Dave» is tagging along(any regular probably knows him by that name) they have an ATM machine, so if you don’t want to use your card there is another option of keeping a tab on how much you spend with actual cash, quite simple, really. Cheap drinks, friendly bar ladies. Karaōke is always fun there, they have a HUGE selection of songs to try out and have ways with ;) I WILLBEBACK(with barbie dave in tow lol)

If drunkards karaokeing and falling on their arse is your idea of entertainment, you’ll enjoy. Karaōke lady is really nice and entertaining too, but waitress double charged my card which didn’t make me happy. Thankfully by bank reimbursed me. Just check your bank statements folks, and don’t have too high of expectations.

I live up the street, all the the negative reviews are true, that sissy lady is a theif. One time I asked of a new castle and she poured me a bud light and still. charged for a new castle… ridiculous loud, drunk people are usually stumbling up the street to their cars around 1am. just a small lame bar… your better off going to riley’s down rosecrans though it’s not much better…

For Friday Karaōke this place isn’t very good– the patrons are too loud and there’s a pool table smack in the center of the place. The waitress seemed nice enough($ 4.50 wells). Some people might like it… as for me– don’t stop pass GO :)

Pros: — Hot girls that work here that are very cool and know how to have a good time, they’re nice and not bratty… they’ll even drink, play darts, or shoot pool with you — Cool Navy and Marine dudes hang out here Friday/Saturday i.e. we talk about sport bikes, one was an ex-pro dart player that taught us how to play cricket — Cleanest hole-in-the-wall ever — cleanest bar bathroom I’ve been to — Great location, right in the middle of Point Loma and next to Aldaberto’s — Once in awhile some cool chicks roll through here — Elecletic mix of people — Karaōke has a great selection of songs Cons — I have to minus one star for this place because it’s usually a sausage fest(athough the dudes are cool as fuck) but wish more chicks came here. So many Marines and Navy dudes! Random: this place is interesting. War Machine came in here trying to start a fight. Buncha marines and sailors were about to beat his ass down and he got out in time although he did break a glass on one of the female bartenders and cut her.

I have to agree with Andrew A. this place is weird. I remember when this place was called The Fling. The Fling was also weird, but they made no qualms about what they were and that was a dive bar. I think The Last Day is still a dive bar trying to be, I don’t know, a nice bar, I guess. I understand what the name«The Last Day» is suppose to mean. I guess its geared towards tourists and it their last day here in S.D. I only know that because I asked a bartender there about it once. However, when you look at the sign it just seems kinda creepy. The name«Last Day» is about as welcoming as the hostel in the movie Hostel.
