We tried this place for the first time today for lunch and enjoyed it very much. They have a nice beer and wine selection. We started by sharing the large wedge salad which was quite delicious. After that we shared a 14″ The Biz pizza which was also fantastic and left us enough to have for lunch tomorrow. The service was very good. We definitely will be back.

Updating because the owner, Lauren reached out to me. She was kind enough to offer me coupon for a free pizza and apologized for the bad pizza I received. I used my coupon a few days ago and the pizza was way better. Thank you for the excellent customer service.

Haven’t stop by at Haven Pizzeria for a long time and I would go there if I bring some friends along for dinner. Of all the food items I picked out, it was the bruschetta bread and specialty pizza, Righteous Pig. Best food item I enjoyed the most was the Righteous Pig since it was something I haven’t eaten before and had company along to enjoy this location in Kensington.

Been meaning to try this place since we stopped by this place during Taste of Adams Avenue. Good pizza. Glad we came here for lunch. Something about the pizza absolutely made me crave more and more of it. I found myself eating about 2⁄3 or ¾ of it. I also had an order of the lasagna and ate all of that. Came in an oven-safe oval dish. I really liked that too. Since we were the first customers of the day, I really don’t know how well this place does at any other given time. Regardless, the amount I enjoyed at this place warrants another visit in the near future. Parking: Street. Wherever you can find it. Service: So far so good.

Looking for a dog friendly pizza joint where you can enjoy some slices with your canine companions? This is the place. The pizza isn’t anything spectacular. There are much better places within a few minutes of driving, considering the extra premium you’re paying for a simple pizza that isn’t even something to rant about. We went with their«New NY» pizza recommendation but it was a bit of a letdown. It was a bit on the saltier side and the texture wasn’t too great either. The«Cortez» was decent though, with fresh arugula and avocado. Overall, if you’re looking for a chill spot to chat without the noise and crowd and plan on sticking around the neighborhood, then it is fine. But there are much better spots close by!

Came here for lunch with my niece last Saturday — one of the few places open in the area for Saturday lunch. Parking was challenging, but finally found a place on a side street. Five stars for the food; three stars for the service. Festive ambiance, which we liked. Service: Things started out well — got seated and got menus quickly. Things ended well — when we finally asked another server for our check, our server suddenly got very diligent! She was very hard to find in between to bring stuff she forgot, or for refills, etc. Didn’t ever check on us after we got our food. Food: They have thin-crust pizzas. Choice or regular, wheat, or gluten-free. They note on the menu that they are«community minded», and that they use local ingredients when they can — I very much like that! Many, many kinds of pizzas, and you can make your own, with numerous cheeses, three crusts, many proteins, and many veggies to choose from for toppings. 9″ or 14″ sizes. We ordered a Caesar salad to share(and, it was definitely big enough to share!) Salad was good. We «built our own» pizzas and loved them! And, I’m not usually a pizza person. I liked the wheat crust. I would definitely come back for the food — my hairdresser is in the area — especially for lunch on Saturday!

I have not given out five stars often but this restaurant earned it. When arriving we were greeted and seated quickly. I liked the warm, comfortable, inviting décor. The menu had a nice selection of appetizers, salads, and pizza. They do serve beer and wine if you want an alcoholic beverage. Water and soda is also available. For appetizers were ordered a large salad with also an order of meatballs. We ordered the special of the day pizza, pesto sauce, goat cheese, bacon, and caramelized onions, and arugula on a very nice crust. The pizza and the appetizers were excellent as well as the service. We will be back.

I like Haven, I’ve tried it a handful of times and the staff is super nice. I’m just not fully impressed for what you get for the price. I get that it’s an expensive neighborhood since all the things on that block are pricey and never mind paying for great food but I feel underwhelmed every time I leave. Nothing stands out like it does at most locally owned businesses and the portions aren’t big so that’s a letdown. For all the unique and locally owned places, especially pizza places, I just feel like there’s better. If it’s a date night totally check it out because one thing I loved was the ambiance and hipster, slightly rustic vibe. Just don’t go there expecting a cheap meal for a full belly.

I came here for my birthday last week. It was a Monday and not much was happening down Adams ave. So me and my friends all got our own pizzas. First off, I LOVE a stone oven pizza and these guys killed it. The food it out quick and taste great. They have great options for toppinga, too. Not the same olé bull that every other place has. They also offer more than just a pizza sauce or an oil dressing. Adan was our server and I’m pretty sure he was trying to give me diabetes. My soda glass was full all night even though I kept drinking it. I appreciated the attentive service, he did everything except sing me happy birthday(and I’m glad he didn’t) Last thing I have to review was the Tiramisu. YUM. Their deserts are prepared earlier that day, long enough for that kaluha to marinate those lady fingers. I was mostly happy just to receive REAL Tiramisu instead of some frozen treat from a box. Oh! They also have a Unilocal check in discount. :) I like this place.

Good beer selection.7 on tap mostly local San Diego brews including my favorite, Stone. Great variety of food outside of pizza. Great street side patio. The food is good. A locals joint located in the Kensington neighborhood od San Diego. I ordered a spinach salad that was very good. Had hazelnuts, cranberries, feta cheese and mores. A little too much dressing. Ask for it on the side if you order a salad. The Haven is a local jewel. We also had the Big Spud pizza. A little bit of everything including… you guessed it, potatoes. Excellent! Brought this review from 4 stars to 5. Service is very attentive.

Fantastic pizza. Great service. My 2nd time eating there tonight, months apart, and very consistent. I got«The Biz»: Homemade pizza sauce, All Natural Pepperoni, Bacon, Salami, Sausage, Mozarella, and Seasonal Onion Mix. Ansolutely phenominal. The flavors all blend together perfectly, everything tastes so fresh. So glad its nearby.

Gluten Free Pizza Crust: This is a huge pro for me. Not only that they serve it, but that it’s tasty! From time to time, the consistency is a bit chewier than usual, but it is still delicious and worthwhile. Pizza options: There are tons of pizza options, including a build your own, that is the best. Wedge Salad: I LOVETHISSALAD. The gorgonzola dressing and cheese along with the candied bacon make this absolutely to die for. It’s probably my favorite salad in the world. Drink Selection: The board does not always match what they are serving, and their selection isn’t quite my favorite, but they do have my favorite wine so I can always«settle» on that if i don’t see any beers/ciders that excite me! Service: This is the only area that I really feel requires improvement. I would rate 3 stars for customer service, but 5 stars for food/drink. I’m not a server and don’t have restaurant experience so I won’t try to justify the attitudes, but I do think that it’s important to be consistent with your attitude, especially to return customers, and to treat your coworkers with respect. I’ve lost count of how many times we’ve heard servers talk about each other under their breaths in passing! Overall: I recommend this restaurant to anybody that lives in Kensington or Normal Heights. I love the outdoor seating, especially during sunset, and they allow dogs on the patio which makes for great puppy-watching(and I’m sure is very convenient for the lucky dog parents out there!)

This place seemed average to me. Pizza isn’t like oh my gosh amazing. Not bad. But just average. Do not get the garlic Parmesan bread rolls… It’s just pizza crust twisted topped with a little Parmesan and garlic. Not worth 5 $ especially if your already getting pizza. The wedge salad tastes very fresh and I loved it! I would get it again. They have some beers on draft. Happy hour ends at 6. Too bad we didn’t make it for that! Customer service was good but nothing extraordinary. If you’re in the area and want pizza I’d go but I wouldn’t drive out of the way for it.

Really enjoyed the antipasto salad, Cortez pizza, and besto pizza. The besto was my favorite, really liked the shrimp and pesto combo. The antipasto salad had a bunch of ingredients and was delicious. The pasta rigatoni was a huge disappointment, I really looked forward to the sun dried tomatoes and broccoli but the noodles were very undercooked and the pasta was dripping in an oil overload. The spud pizza was just alright, too much meat you couldn’t even taste the potato. The service was good but the food took very long. I would come back because they do have interesting pizza combinations but it wasn’t my favorite.

Great addition to the neighborhood, I enjoy having pizza and wine here. Service is always great and the desserts never disappoint. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare but if you live in the neighborhood this is a great place to walk to and share a pizza with a friend. It was nice to attend their anniversary event and enjoy an additional discount. Would love to see them do different things with happy hour, besides the two dollar off, maybe offer a wine Wednesday all night happy hour? One can only hope.

My fiancé and I came in on a slow Saturday but it was great to have the whole place pretty much to ourselves. I loved the artwork on the walls. The paintings were bright and inviting. I love when places have a huge window that’s similar to a garage door. We shared the chicken Caesar salad. I loved how the chicken was seasoned. We also had a pizza that we altered to make how we like it. Pesto, cheese, peppers and tomatoes.

First time. FINALLY. Heard so many qreat things about this place from my friend Donna. We planned HH/dinner here with our friend. We ordered 2 types of pizza along with appetizers. The pizza(cheese, hawaiian, and something else) and appetizers(brussells sprouts and another item) were amazing. The three of used finished the entire dish… nothing left over to take home. Thats how good this place is. Similar to URBN Fired Pizza and i love that place just as much. Its thin crust pizza… not sure if they make deep dish pizza. Anyways this place is delish. I bummed that i didnt have enough room for desserts. i bet its just as good.

Had their PBTO pizza and The New New Yorker with veggie sausage. I love how their pizzas are not burnt at the bottom and just right. they have rotating draft beers, wines. I had their caprese salad, it was imo, mediocre. I am a fan of tomatoes but what was served was not flavorful, and the balsamic vinaigrette could improve on flavors as well. WARNING: I had purchased a livingsocial deal($ 7 for $ 15 value) and it had expired, so I thought I would use the actual paid value($ 7) with the lunch Unilocal discount. I was rejected with the claim that my livingsocial deal can’t be used with the discount. I let it go but I felt cheated because it was no longer a deal since I am only paying with the actual money I paid in advanced. oh well. Just beware that you can only use 1 deal at a time.

tried this place and i have to say i am not disappointed. Salads: Antipasto: salty, savory, absolutely yum yum yum. Comes w a perfect blend of olives, peppercinis, salami and more all tossed in their handmade italian dressing which i could eat by itself. Entrees: They just added a bunch of pastas. My hubby tried the Jalapeño Chicken Mushroom Lasagna. It was a good southern Cali twist to a classic italian dish, there is no need for any improvement with this dish. It was served w garlic bread, the waitress asked him what he could change, he said just more garlic bread so she brought out a few more pieces :) I thoroughly enjoyed and finished the Spicy Pesto Pizza! It is their spicy sauce(which isnt too spicy but spicy enough), pesto clumps, basil leaves and mozz cheese. this pizza was the perfect blends of flavor. I def will be ordering this again. I want to go back during happy hour. 4– 6 everyday and $ 2 off salads, apps, pizzas, beer and wine. not bad at all.
