Completely under staffed. Our witness is so overwhelmed and I feel bad for her but she has been so unpleasant. I’m sitting here in the bar writing this. I’m from out of town and wish this would of been a better experience.

This place ought be called UNDERTHEBRIDGE because I got served by a TROLL, asked for fries and drink, drink was fine fries came out cold and soggy I told the gal and she took them and closed me out. Upon questioning this action she was rude and made me feel very unwelcome she said her name was Shay. She needs a new job DMV or TSA might be more her style

Harp is high above Melodies drift about me Summer approaches. When I was a kid I walked down these streets excited to see the famed Black where they sold the Anarchists Cookbook and other hard to find items. The Harp is pretty easy to spot as there is a big harp where normally you expect a neon sign. Place was emptying out as lunch was ending. Kitchen was really slow. Wish it was summer so I could appreciate the view outside while I was waiting for my food. I ordered the Harp burger. Was salty a bit like Slater’s 50⁄50 burger. I prefer my bacon crispy and on top of the pattie like at Hodad’s. Beef, lamb, and bacon combined in a pattie isn’t a flavor combination I appreciate. Onion rings were very crunchy and had a nice tasty beer batter. Sadly some of the batter clumped up and there were dough balls on some of the rings. I’d come back again to try other menu items if I had lots of reading material and time…

The Harp represents the kind of place I probably would not normally go were it not for something like burger week. It’s a little big to be labelled a dive bar, but we were definitely side-eyed by the locals as we walked in. I felt like such a city-slicker. I ordered the eponymous Harp burger, which the menu describes as a mixture of lamb, beef, and bacon. I could taste the lamb sure enough, but I did wish that the bacon and beef components tasted stronger so as to provide my mouth a true meat fiesta. The best part was the inspired use of a toasted ciabatta as the bun. I further really enjoyed the fries with their skin intact. Does that make them uncircumcised? Natural is better! Summary: I’ve got some Irish in me. Come here if you’d like some in you.

On the surface, a place like The Harp would be a little to dark and grungy for my taste, but I can’t resist a good burger! Thanks to San Diego burger week, I was able to try their signature Harp burger for only five bucks! The half pound seasoned beef and lamb patty was fabu. Due to lamb’s typical gamey texture, I’m usually not a fan, but it totally works with this burger. I was also really digging the ciabatta bun. I wish more places would think outside of the bun and go for something more unique like The Harp. The real piece de resistance was the goat cheese and caramelized onions. Who figured out that goat cheese works on burgers? Yum! In review, just get the The Harp burger!

I had stopped here on Sunday afternoon just to get something«different» to eat. Their menu looked good. The place is known primarily for being a bar and drinking spot in OB. I was pleasantly surprised at the extensive menu and I opted for the Bangers and Mashed. I would say it may have been the best ever in America. The potatoes were real mashed(not boxed) they had a brown gravy over them that was infused with sauteed onions. I was very impressed with the fresh roasted vege’s that accompanied it. The meal was delicious. I would love to try their Sheppards Pie(with lamb) my next time. GREATPLACETOEAT

We came here on a Friday night while wandering around the OB streets. It was my first time in OB and it felt like a ghost town compared to PB and downtown. This place had music playing from the outside that sounded interesting and there was no cover at the door so we took a look and ended up staying for an hour. There was a band playing that was interesting and kept us there. It was empty and old looking inside. I believe it had an Irish theme. They had a patio area that was pretty cool and had a good amount of people hanging out there. Overall this place was okay.

One of my favorite bars in ocean beach. I’ve lived in ob for over 3 years and always love coming to this spot. Usually quite during the week so it’s great for just grabbing a few drinks with friends and the weekends are more for the entertainment. Amazing talent usually on Friday nights.

Five stars for what it is, a chill neighborhood bar. Most neighborhood bars I would give just a 4 max, but the food here, wow. All props have to go to the kitchen on this one. It’s a basic bar, but with one of the best chicken sandwiches I have ever had. I kind of want to go back to the kitchen and hug the cook. It’s just ridiculous perfect. I wish I could comment on the other food, but I can’t being myself to order something different. Tale not sure onus ordered the onion rings which looked and smelled delicious… If that helps. Staff has also always been really friendly and attentive. They really need to advertise their food. I will try to come back and try the other items on the menu. I am optimistic that the other items are equally delicious.

The Harp and I have had some rough times– but I think we have made ammends. The kinks have been worked out with staff and the girls who work there are awesome. I also have discovered not only do they have a great mozzarella stick(homemade with tons of cheesy deliciousness), but they also have a great chicken wing! I reccommend getting sauce on the side– as to not taint their crispy, seasoned deliciousness.(Yeah– I said taint! ;) Prices aren’t bad, but not the cheapest in town either. Full bar, decent pours, Lots of tv’s for sports and they allow kids before 9pm(don’t judge me).

I had been putting off reviewing the Harp because it was fine — decent prices, decent service, decent selection, but nothing wildly good or bad, and it’s tough to motivate to write those reviews. Then last weekend we were hanging out for the excellent bluegrass Friday night shenanigans, and ventured out the secret door to the back patio. Totally adorable — twinkle lights and picnic tables, way less loud than inside but you still got the benefit of the music. If there were TVs it would be a perfect place to watch football, but as it stands it was a lovely discovery — I can’t believe it took two and a half years! This puts you over the edge, Harp. I will be way more excited to drop by in the future.

If anyone says that this place is even decent, must be crazy. My husband and I ate there just a couple of hours ago and we both feel sick. Food was disgusting. We were starving before we went in and we couldn’t even finish our food. This«irish» bar is so dirty and their decorations make no sense. They would get no stars, but Unilocal doesn’t allow that so the only star goes to service, which was good.

Came here for SD burger week where they offered the signature Harp burger for $ 5 and if you want a draft beer and fries with that, it’s yours for just $ 5 more! What a steal! It’s been a while since I’ve had a burger that I’ve really liked since American Ale’s burger(in SB) so really, I’m just saying«wow! this is a darn good burger!» Harp burger description:” House crafted half pound seasoned beef, lamb and bacon, arugula, garlic aioli, roasted tomato, fried egg, feta cheese and caramelized onions on ciabatta“ The ciabatta roll was soft and crispy. The feta was not overpowering in the least, the egg was cooked very well, and the patty… Just yum! The fries are thick cut and good as well. Overall a very delicious way to spend an evening. We also tried the homemade Guinness ice cream. I’m a huge fan of ice cream, but this didn’t do it for me. It had an odd aftertaste. My friends thought it was may ok. I don’t think we’ll order the again. There was one bartender running the whole joint and considering that, service was not too bad.

Good food, unusual flair. Nice live music. Great drinks, what could be better! Always treated nicely and. with respect. Bartenders make small talk and like to have fun. Best part of .

A neighborhood bar for virtually everyone and anyone. For some reason, I only seem to come here during the day, but it’s a great day time bar because the Newport side of the bar opens up for some great people watching, letting you enjoy that San Diego sunshine. Plus, you can go around to the side to enjoy a narrow courtyard and bring your pups along to enjoy the day. So you don’t wanna miss the game? They’ve got numerous TV’s tuned to sports. So you want something to eat, grab some pub food while you’re here. So you just realized you forgot to buy a new bikini this year? Run across the street to pick one up real quick, then come back and rock that tini-kini with your brew. Either way, come here to enjoy yourself.

Loved it here! The deep fried mushrooms were out of this world, and the fish tacos were just as good. The drinks were strong enough to put some hair on my proverbial chest, and the blonde bartendress with the lilty voice was so stinkin’ sweet. I went during the day, before we went to the beach, and the pub wasn’t too busy. We ate inside but my compadre went out behind the place to smoke on the picnic benches. Very mellow atmosphere, excellent food, great service.

A chelsea bar with Stella Cidre on tap? Yes please! We came down for the BPL opening Chelsea match against Burnley, and had a great time. I’ve been coming here during soccer season for years, and I will continue to do so! We love it at the Harp!

The Harp is immediately noticeable when driving down Newport Avenue in Ocean Beach, but the place is very forgettable! The only cool aspect of the bar is the fact that they have large wooden panels that open up like windows to give patrons a view of Newport Ave. It helps that there’s a bench that runs along this wall for people to sit on. Sadly, they’re sticklers for their many rules. The place can get pretty warm on a hot day, but people aren’t allowed to stand outside and drink water they got at the bar. They can’t even reach in and grab a quick drink of water! In addition, patrons can’t bring their own drinks inside, even if it’s just water in a water bottle! It also seems like the employees don’t really care about giving good service. Frequently I have to go to the bar to get a drink instead of having a server bring it to me even if it’s really slow. This sucks if you’re playing pool, sitting at the aforementioned window, and/or chilling with friends. Lastly, the food is nothing special. I’ve had a few things there, like the fish & chips, and nothing was memorable. As a result of the lackluster service and food, my biking group has decided to stop ending our rides here. From now on our group of 30 people will get our food and drinks at Raglan Public House and OB Noodle House, which are both far superior! I have only been there during the day, but I’ve heard they have decent live music on the weekends. Too bad I’ll never know…

I can’t say I love this place, but my roommate does, so I end up here more often than I would like to. But honestly, there’s not much to complain about here. They have a live band on most nights, a decently large space, and a video game machine for you to play XXX Photo Hunt. And they accept credit cards! Bartenders have always been great — one of them even had a baby shower there. What a great place for a baby shower! The crowd is pretty quintessential OB — a lot of interesting characters…
