Great atmosphere… TV’s everywhere you look, comfy chairs and booths. The food is outstanding and the Happy Hour is an excellent deal. The Prime Rib is nothing short of Phenomenal. A great place to hang with friends for drinks, dinner and watch sports on the screens! One of my Go To places any time.

Came here to watch the Warriors game. Lots of tvs with an old school feel(reminded me of an old casino in Reno???) Food was surprisingly good.

I really enjoyed the concept of this place! It’s a perfect place to bring your man. There’s a bar, comfy lounging chairs, and TVs of sports literally everywhere. They serve alcohol, have good music, and the ladies’ bathrooms are surprisingly clean and pretty fancy. My boyfriend said that the men’s room even had TVs?! They sure know how to tailor the restaurant to their target market, which are men, but honestly, I had a great experience while I was there. Ordered the ½ lb Swiss and Mushroom burger, which came with fries and he ordered Carne Asada fries. The food was good… more of a step up from okay. Nothing too special. Prices are good! Our food was about $ 8−9/plate I think and the margaritas were only $ 3!

Went to the Bullpen last night to meet up with some friends. Food was good. Erin, our bartender, did a great job keeping the party going. Fun place to be with friends.

Food is pretty good for a bar. The pizza and the Club Sandwich are pretty good. Service is polite and fast most of the time. Drinks are, obviously, good.

I normally don’t come by on weekdays, but since Erin started bartending on Mondays, I thought I would swing by. She is a really cool bartender. She makes a good drink and is fun to talk to. I really enjoyed my time this evening. I will definitely come back next week when she’s bartending again just to see her.

I liked the vibe here. Lots of TV to keep you company. I tried the prime rib special and it was good and big for ~$ 17. I tried other menu items and it was also good and decently priced. Waitresses were nice. All in all a good place to come get good bar food and watch games :)

We were just in the area for a business meeting and took the kids for a mini get away since didn’t have school-and wanted to UFC, so we looked for a sports bar and found BullPen. All I can say is amazing spot. Plenty of Tv’s, and lots of seating My husband ordered the prime rib which is on special Sunday’s and Thursday’s– it came with a baked potato and some broccoli. When I say the steak was HUGH it was HUGH. I ordered the chicken taco salad, it had a generous amount of chicken. Kids orders off the appetizer menu, they got the carne asada fries, the meat was so tender an flavorful, our other daughter had a hot dog; the bun was even toasted and the fries were steak like cut, that were crisp and very tasty. We ordered a round of cocktails, which were also good. The staff was friendly and on top of their tables, their manager was even helping deliver food and clearing tables. Side note: There is a gentlemen’s club next door as well. I definitely recommend this place– and we’ll probably go back just for the prime rib, soooo good! Keep up the good work.

Rudest table server. I don’t care if it’s a sports bar, we were there for dinner. you had to be there to see how rude this little bitch was to me and another guest. She set the beer across the table where nobody was and kept walking. We ordered steaks medium rare they came medium well. When I ordered a second red wine as the first was empty, she DROPPED it off without taking the empty with her. When clearing the finished appetizer plate she chose to lean across the guest with her chest instead of coming around. And when clearing out finished plates she dumped the silverware onto one plate and stormed off. Felt like we were in a high school cafeteria. Never once checked in to see how our dinner was. Just an immature inexperienced unprofessional — and so we refused to leave a tip.

The floor manager is rude, and very unhelpful. I asked him for some lemon and he said«what where the girls busy». Umm let me just get some lemons for my tacos pls, Gave some attitude and took off. Can we all just get along

I came to Bullpen on a Friday evening for a work get together. The food is typical pub grub, and everything we had was pretty good. We tried the carne asada fries, potato skins, wings and chips and salsa. Drinks are reasonably priced and service was pretty quick considering it was busy and our group had about 20 people in it. There are tons of TVs and plenty of seating, so I can see this being a great place to watch sporting events. There is a pretty decent sized parking lot, but on a busy night it was tough to get a place to park. Overall, above average sports bar with good drinks and good prices.

Frequently go here on Saturdays, due to proximity to other businesses that I patronize(Daiso, Mitsuwa, Rockler Woodworking, Dixieline, UPS, San Diego Coin, Ozone Billiards, Zion Market…) Don’t screw around… order the prime rib street tacos and a side of coleslaw(if you like the mayonnaise-y kind)…fresh bold tastes, very reasonable price. Daytime is best for service, at night the crowd gets a little rough(overflow from Cheetah’s strip club next door)…you can bring your family in during the day and they will be easily accommodated. Have tried the steak dinner, wings and quesadilla in past outings and found them to be average at best, but never been disappointed with the prime rib street tacos. Service ranges from excellent bartenders to extremely self-involved and bitchy waitresses who are not hot enough to justify the attitude(likely washouts from Cheetahs).

These was the closest bar to my hotel so I stopped by a few times. We even had a business lunch there one afternoon. I got the club sandwich and it was solid. You’d be surprised how many places screw up a club sandwich. The drinks are stiff and reasonably priced so it’s hard to complain.

Very mediocre. Service was eh– our waitress was friendly, however it took 15 mins to get the check. Pros are the plentiful seating and tvs. Major cons would be the food and their Bloody Mary. My veggie sandwich was bland to the point where I didn’t finish it, and my bf’s breakfast sandwich was dripping was grease. Not the«ooo this is gonna take a year off my life but it’s so worth it» kind of grease but rather the«oh I think I’ll just eat fries» type. Not good. Lastly– I love love love bloody Mary’s. This one was small, bland, and came with half an olive and soggy slice of lemon. Tears. I’d return to see how service at the bar was, but wouldn’t come back here if I planned on ordering anything other than a beer.

My co workers come here for lunch every once in a while and tell me how good the food is. Decided to give it a shot. First thing that threw me was just how nice the place was inside, when you see the outside its nothing special but once you get inside… whole different story! I was a bit dirty from work and the first seating area I saw was so nice that I just kept walking hoping to find a small dinky table to eat which took me to the back room and AAAALLLLLLL the Tv’s haha. Oh and there are no dinky tables every seat in there is nice and comfy looking. Wasn’t sat down long before Roxi came over and said hey and took my drink order and later my food order. She was very nice and quick on the drink refills. There was also a gentleman there waiting tables as well and he was really nice too. Unfortunately I didn’t get his name. Oh and I ordered the bbq bacon burger, which was really really good and a nice size too.

This place is my favorite place to watch sports or any event. Adam is always friendly, attentive and welcoming. I recommend watching any event here. They pour good drinks and have good food. They are on top of it and truly care about they’re guests. Great job crew!

Great place for Thursday Night Football. Drink Specials, College and NFL games… and Prime Rib. A tip for those coming here… ask for Phoebe. She is one of the best servers. Always happy, incredable smile, prompt with service and really sassy if you dare… She just makes the dinner an experience.

I love coming here for football! Good beer selection, great food, comfy seats, a million TVs and great acoustics. They have sound on for up to 3 games at a time unless the Chargers are playing. Just find the room with your teams sound on and you’re good to go. I would give them 5 stars if they had more beers on tap, but I always find something decent to get me through the game. My favorite food here is the spice mushroom appetizer… A-MAZING! I order them every time. If you play fantasy football, you have to come here!

Really cool place to go to! Super close to my cousins house. We decided to try it out and we’re glad we did! We sat right away, and were attended to very quickly. They have TV’s everywhere! My husband was able to watch 3 games all at the same time, it was great! Service was excellent and so was the food! We’re definitely coming back

Manly sports bar! Burgundy and brick décor with tv’s all around… like 60 of them! Comfy lazy boy type of seating along with typical high back tables and chairs. Good tap selection. Great burgers!

I like this sports bar grill. I came by to watch a preseason chargers vs Seahawks game and am glad to have picked this joint. We chose our own seating area, which was the low table with the comfy lounge chairs sort of near the entrance. If you get cold easily, you may want to go into place further down as there similar setups inside. I want to mention that parking may get hectic, especially during Sunday football. There are many businesses that share the parking area. Anyways, they have quite a few local beers on tap and a full menu as well. Going with a sculpin ipa and some sweet potato fries, we were set. Food and beer were freshly made to order and tasted as expected. The waitresses were prompt, attentive, and friendly. Restrooms are clean and have tvs in there just in case you feel you like you have to hold in it or you may miss an important play. If you want an ice cold one served with a friendly smiling face, your team about either win or lose their game, and your buddies and loved ones just hanging out from a hard day’s work or day off, this is the spot. Thank you Bullpen.

I went here for the prime rib deal. It’s on Thursdays starting at 4:30pm. I even called to make sure it was on Thursday before heading over there. It was only $ 15.95 for a huge prime rib with a baked potato and broccoli. During happy hour well drinks are only $ 2. Pretty cheap for drinks. I also tried the crab cakes. They weren’t that great and mostly tasted like the garnish they put on top which was a sweet and sour sauce with pineapples and peppers. They have a lot of tv’s in here. Definitely a good place to catch any game. The tables are comfy and they even have big comfy chairs that look like you could take a nap in them. Parking can be difficult with all the other businesses around this area.

Great place to watch games for sure! They have tv’s everywhere and a ton of places to sit and lounge around both inside and out. Food is absolutely amazing here. They have some great happy hour deals. I’ve tried their cheeseburger and fries which was on the happy hr menu for 5 bucks and I must say wow their burger was so good and cheap! I also tried their buffalo wings that can feed up to two people. On Tuesdays and Sundays they have a special on Prime Rib for 15 bucks until they run out and omg it was delish and hugeeee! It came with a baked potato and broccoli. Food was on point however, the service was pretty disappointing. Our server took forever to come to our table. She rarely checked up on us. We pretty much waited a LONG time just waiting for a refill on our waters. Because service sucked, we didn’t get to order more drinks on the happy hr menu. Place is huge, perfect for happy hour and to watch games. Just be prepared you won’t get the best service here but food is pretty good.

Our new go-to spot for watching sports. Bull Pen smells and looks like Vegas: the hint of cigar smoke wafting in the air, the lights turned down low, the strippers wandering in from next door to take a break, the high ratio of men to women, the good-looking waitresses in booty shorts. The food takes awhile to come out but there are always cheap drinks to cushion the wait. The fries are thick cut and seasoned well. My salad was hearty and delicious. I snuck a bite of my friend’s prime rib and it was great.

You need to check this place out if you are a fan of either of the following: 1) prime rib; 2) watching sports on TV. I made my fist visit last week to watch the Warriors/cavs game and order the Thursday/Sunday prime rib special. This place is a TV Mecca, there are screens(smallish to jumbo) all over the place. Unfortunately, they get packed on big game days so our late selves were very lucky to snag a table near a smallish screen. The whole scene has a Las Vegas sports book vibe and everyone agreed that this place even smells like Vegas. Every now and again you are bound to see a Cheetahs girl walk in as well(clothed, albeit minimally). The staff was fairly attentive given the small server to patron ratio. This place is also heavy on the men, which explains why the women’s restroom had 0 line and was so clean despite the # of visitors. I can appreciate that. I’m not much of a wine person, but everyone agreed that the $ 3 Merlot deal was tasty and drinkable. I mean, I did drink 3 glasses. I am, however, a self proclaimed prime rib aficionado. When I got my order, the first thing I thought was, «Maybe I was mistaken about the deal. This thing is ginormous, at least 16 ounces, and is gonna cost me $$$.» On the contrary, I was only billed $ 15.95 for a deliciously tender, perfectly done medium rare hunk o meat. You have your choice between baked potato vs mashed and also get nicely seasoned and crisp broccoli. Probably the best prime rib in San Diego.

I had passed by The Bull Pen Bar & Grill(BP) numerous times before without really paying attention to my surroundings. So when I met a few co-workers at the eatery for Happy Hour one Friday afternoon, I was surprised to find that I subconsciously did know where I was going … and after experiencing the delicious food, I’m certain that I’ll be back. HH is from 2 – 6 p.m. so be sure to take advantage of the few menu items that are discounted during this time(from what I remember, I think 5 – 6 of the appetizer dishes are featured on the HH menu). The eatery didn’t seem particularly crowded around 4:45 p.m. that Friday, and since we had a larger group, we convened toward the back of the restaurant. There’s also patio seating available, and there are more lounge-like seats throughout the interior. But by the time I left around 6:30 p.m., the venue was definitely more crowded; the noise level had gone up and more of the tables were occupied with people. Our group mostly ordered drinks, but we got a few appetizers as well, and I enjoyed the sampling available. Here’s what we got, as well as dishes I want to order in the future: «Appetizer Sampler»: Since our group was pretty large, we ordered at least two of these samplers, which included five jumbo Buffalo wings, two potato skins and three breaded chicken tenders served with ranch dressing. I had one of the potato skins and one of the breaded chicken tenders, and I really liked the savory taste of each. The skins were your normal size, but they were coated sufficiently with bacon bits and cheese. The chicken tenders were generously breaded and had a great exterior – just the way I like them, with lots of batter – and the meat itself was tender. They tasted especially great when paired with the Ranch dressing. «Potato Skins»: We ordered a side of potato skins, and the plate included four potato skins topped with sour cream, melted jack and cheddar cheese, and bacon crumbles. I love a good loaded baked potato, and these skins didn’t disappoint. I normally don’t really like sour cream on my potatoes(of any sort), but there wasn’t too much of the cream on these crispy fritters. «Artichoke Dip»: Spinach artichoke dip is one of my favorite apps, and though this version doesn’t have spinach, I would want to try it at some point anyway. It features creamy Parmesan and artichoke dip with pico de gallo and homemade chips. I would skip on the pico, but I can’t wait to taste that creamy, cheesy, savory mix one day. «Carne Asada Fries»: These loaded fries were a big hit with our group, as they featured marinated grilled tri-tip served with cheese, sour cream, salsa fresca, guacamole and jalapeños over a bed of fries. Because I’m not a huge fan of salsa, guac and jalapenos, I just tried to pick out the chips with some of the meat and cheese to enjoy, but the rest of our group really liked this loaded, spicy app. These fries(we got the full order) were actually a good size for our group(which had about 10 people by the time we ordered them), so everyone got a little bit. The fries themselves were just the way I like my fries — thick enough and spongy; not too crispy and crunchy. «Chili Fries»: My stomach has a love-hate relationship with chili(sometimes it upsets my stomach; other times, I’m perfectly fine), but I would take a chance to try these savory chili fries. This app features homemade chili con carne with cheddar cheese and sour cream poured over a bed of fries. Yum! There’s nothing like fresh chili, and I’m willing to take the risk to enjoy these chili-and-cheese-laden fries. «Fish and Chips»: I’m always on the hunt for a delicious fish and chips, so I wouldn’t mind trying BP’s version at some point. It includes three large beer battered cod served with French fries or coleslaw. Of course, I would opt for fries instead of coleslaw(you can’t have fish and chips SANS the chips) and am curious to see what the beer-battered cod here tastes like. «Grilled Lemon Pepper Mahi»: I do love a good mahi mahi, so I’m excited to order this sandwich one day. It consists of grilled mahi mahi served with mixed greens, chipotle mayo, ponzu sauce, crispy lemon slices and tomatoes. All sandwiches are served with lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo, and you get your choice of fries, coleslaw, white rice or brown rice. I would get my sandwich sans tomatoes and lemon slices and with fries. I’m especially excited for the sauces in this sandwich — the chipotle mayo mixed with ponzu is sure to result in some great flavors!
