I love this place. The tea blends are so fun and playful. I spend way too much time smelling and exploring the different options while I’m there. I’ve fallen in love with their ice wine blend. I’m a wine lover and a tea lover, so it mixes the best of two of my worlds. I haven’t been able to find it anywhere else.
The staff is super friendly and will help you find the perfect blend for you. It’s become one of my «must visit» places when I’m in the area.

Very cute tea place with a ton of variety. You can buy in bulk or have just one cup made for you. Their teas are imported from all around the world, so if you don’t like to drink tea, this place is still cool to look at and smell the different teas they have.

I went here with Debra R and Jose R a few days ago. I got a tasty tea beverage and a tin of tea. I liked this store.

I am a tea lover at heart and this place confirmed my passion for it. My family and I were walking around in SD and towards the end of our walk I noticed a cute little sign that said tea samples. They were unfortunately closing but the employees were so kind to still let us in. Alisha, I believe was her name, was so knowledgeable. I told her I have kidney stones and if there was something she recommended. She double checked in a book, open the page and confirmed that the recommendation was accurate. She then gave me different tea options containing nettle. Which is what helps break done and prevent kidney stones. I’ve been drinking it like she prescribed and I passed a small stone already. Wow!!! Teas aren’t only delicious and nutrious, they are also medicinal.

We were in Old Town San Diego visiting one of the shops. The owner of the shop we were visiting suggested that we try this tea shop. She said it was one of the best tea shops, and she was right.
This little tea house is full of all kinds of different teas from all around the world. My wife loves tea. So she bought many different kinds from this store. I also tried one of the tea samples that they had prepared earlier in the day. This tea was the Peach Melba and was sweetened with Agave. See my picture (
). It was so good! I ordered a cup of cold tea. It was a hot day that day and it helped to have a cold tea like this. We are so glad that we came here and we are still enjoying all of the teas that my wife bought from this store.

This place is bad ass. Lots of loose leaf tea and great coffee. Customer service was top notch. We left with three bags of tea well under 30 bucks.

This place is amazing! The selection of teas is top-​notch, and the Mexican chocolate they use in their mochas is a-​MAZ-​ing! I cannot say enough about how great this little gem is. Any true tea lover needs to stop in here and check out their selection of loose teas.

The Sassafras Tea with Steamed milk and Honey is a must. Honestly the best tea I’ve ever ordered. Perfect when feeling under the weather or on a cold day. Will definitely return!!! The staff is so kind and knowledgeable, they asked if I needed any help choosing a tea (There are MANY choices). I explained I had a sore throat and they immediately recommended the sassafras with honey… PERFECT CHOICE!

We visited The American House last weekend during a fun trip to San Diego. What a treat! We were able to check out tons of loose leaf tea and they brewed each of us our own special iced tea from our choices. One person in my group was interested in an Earl Gray/​Lavender tea. They didn’t have any in stock, but offered to custom blend something for her from different teas. How cool is that? I didn’t explore the spices, but they looked great. I’m regretting not getting some of their Smoked Paprika. I love that stuff! The place is a little dark, but I’m guessing that’s good for the tea. We enjoyed our tea at tables set up outside and people watched for a few minutes. It was a highlight of our SD visit!

Tea-​licious! What an unexpected pleasure. First of all, this store offers tons of teas for every taste. Herbal, green, flavored… You name it! Second of all, they time the minutes each type of tea needs to be brewed. The result? Fabulous tea. Service was great too. Love this place!

Stumbled upon this place when roaming Old Town and boy am I glad I did! I love loose leaf tea so this place was like Heaven on Earth for me. There are so many options that it’s just overwhelming. But in a good way. The employee had a slight aura of snootiness to him, but nothing that really turned me off. He knew his tea and he was proud of it. I get it.
Anyway, my only complaint is that this is in SD & I live in LA. But you better believe next time I’m in town I’ll be swinging by for a refill!

I love coming to Old Town and recently I decided to drink less coffee and more tea! I didn’t know too much but Janine (I’m pretty sure that was her name) definitely helped me with my decision making! They have so many teas, black, white, green, chai, mate, herbal, oolong! I wish I could have gotten them all! You can open the canisters and smell them to see if you’ll like it!
I knew I wanted a black, white, and green tea so I took a look around, and of course Janine gave me her suggestions on what she liked and what I think I’d like. I told her I enjoyed fruity flavors, some citrus, nothing too earthy and she directed me to one of each. There were some I liked and others that were a little too strong.
I ended up choosing 3 different teas, a tropical earl grey, acai white tea, and a pomegranate superfruit green tea. All are very fruity! Since I bought more than 4 ounces, I received a sample of a free tea of my choice to drink, and since it was a hot day, I went for an iced Hawaiian hibiscus tea, that Grace (I think that was her name) prepared for me. Perfect for the day, super refreshing!
I ended up paying $ 36+ tip for tea that will last me for at least 3 months! Can’t wait to try them all, I will definitely be back!
