This truck was supposed to show up where I work on two occasions and never showed up. When it did show up I was the first person in line and I was really looking forward to a good cheese steak. I asked if I could get a cheese steak sandwich with meat and cheese only and she said no problem. I had her confirm that I only wanted meat and cheese and she repeated back what I ordered. After 10 minutes of waiting and several people that ordered after I did getting their food before me she hands me a cheese steak with Onions and Peppers. She acted surprised when I told here that was not the sandwich I ordered. I asked for a refund and she gave me my money back. I will never do business with this truck.

This was a new food truck that stopped by my office this week and I was pretty intrigued by both the catchy name as well as the menu. I wanted to try the Nonnie and boy oh boy what a treat it was! The brioche bun was perfectly toasted, perfect ratio of patty-bun, with all the trimmings, but it was the balsamic reduced red onions that took this burger to a whole new level! I would gladly order this burger over n over again whenever I see the truck … They did not have tots so I got my burger with a side of chips and the cheese sauce. I do wish they had some spicy seasoning or option of upping the heat quotient of the chips to compliment the sauce as it otherwise tastes kinda flat. Great service — cheerful and quick !

Finally a food truck where I don’t break the bank !!! $ 10 for a burger and mounds of tator tots is a deal. Saw these truckers in front of the La Jolla Playhouse 2÷19÷16 parked. Opposite of them were another taco food truck. I opted for this food truck simply because of their name … That’s What She Said! Sooo brilliant, I want to steal it. Okay but no really, the two guys working here are sweet. Super friendly and first asked«how are you?» Where did simple courtesy go? It wasn’t missing here. They even brought our food out to the table we were sitting at. Menu is basic but that means picking something won’t take centuries. Choose from Mac n cheese(and toppings like hot cheetohs, shallots, Apple wood smoked bacon, jalepenos), cheesesteaks, Grilled cheese BLT, or chicken BLT. I ordered their truck burger, the«Nonnie» without bacon(pleas don’t judge me, I’m trying to be «better» about my diet”. The burger came with locally sourced patty, arugula, provolone, caramelized sweet onions and garlic aoili to sauce it up. All on a white brioche bun. My verdict? Pros: not salty, tasty, soft bun, tasty beef patty. Improvements: wheat bun option, bigger patty proportion to bun, extra topping options. Tots were hot and fresh, though a bit salty for my taste. Overall, very good. I also got to try their chicken BLT. Nice big chunks of juicy chicken and a hot sandwich with provolone, tomato, buffalo sauce and applewood smoked bacon. Yum! Lastly, since I paid with card I thought I would get something to sign or an iPad to electronically sign to leave a tip. But I didn’t get an option. I felt terrible ! Was it just a fluke or really no option for card users to leave a tip, because these guys deserve one every time! …That’s What Cheese Said!

Oh my god, the mac and cheese. I got it with bacon and jalapeño. Then they gave me a free side just because. And they took our at our table at the brewery and brought it out to us. Best service. Best food.

After 20 minutes of waiting and watching 3 people that ordered before me get their order(including one who ordered the same thing I did) I mentioned that I hadn’t been served and that my meal was probably given to someone else… No apology, nothing! Just a «okay.» Five minutes later after another two people were served I asked for my money back and they said they didn’t have internet service! They had internet service to take my credit card! But now nothing huh? Awful customer service!!!

We hired That’s What Cheese Said to cater our corporate picnic of over 600 guests. Their food was fantastic and they were great to work with! The mac ‘n cheese with different add-ins was incredible(not to mention a VERY generous portion), as were the philly cheesesteak and buffalo chicken sandwiches. There is a little bit of a wait time, as they make everything to order, but the quality of food more than makes up for it. If you don’t have any catering needs in the near future, check their schedule and make a point to visit their truck for lunch, you won’t be disappointed!

SLOW and steady WINS the food truck race. In the case of the That’s What Cheese Said(TWCS) food truck it appears so. At the Valley Center Food Truck show down, the TWCS truck had enough of a diverse menu to grab my attention. So I walked up and give it a try. I ordred the BLT, which came with fries. From my experience there are only a few food trucks that produce a very good sandwich(Eat at Recces and Devilcious might be the only two), so ordering a sandwich from TWCS was met with skepticism. It was not particularly crowded at this truck when I ordered, so the time expectation was going to be a quick turnaround from order to serve. *20 minutes later in the sweltering heat* The order was finally up. The impatiens I was feeling(it was a VERY hot day mind your, over 100) cooled off when I saw this great looking sandwich and a nice pile of fries. Better, was the taste of both. The fries come with a cheese sauce, which was decadent. The sandwich was very tasty and full of layers textures. The sandwich’s components were Arugula(or Spinach?), Applewood smoked bacon, cheese, and beefsteak tomato slices. A very complementary bread was used to complete the package. The group rated this truck«Best in Show».

Now I’m no Philly cheesesteak sandwich expert, but I know when something special is going on when on the first bite my mind goes blank, my eyes roll back to a close, and I let out a soft moan… lordy. ANYWAY! I got the Sheese Steak: It’s Always Cheesy in Philly and you know how that went down. They put in a lot of their thin sliced steak to where it flows out of the french roll and that melted provolone does a fine job holding it all in like a fine glue. Comes with their cheese sauce and au jus which is awesome since each dip gives either an enhanced steak or sharp cheddar cheese flavor. Also came with their house made potato chips which I got on recommendation since they fry them up themselves. Nice, flavorful, and crunchy giving me that texture change I really need. Can’t wait to try their other options, the Mac and cheese looks ridiculously good. Highly recommend. Find it. Buy it. Eat it. Enjoy it.

The food is amazing! The best mac n’ cheese I have ever had. Get the shallots and the bacon and the tomato/basil! You won’t be sorry. And don’t forget the blue cheese sauce for the fries. Yum!

I loved the Mac and cheese with hot cheetoes and my boyfriend liked his Philly. I was really impressed by how crunchy the food stayed on the way home. I was on the trolley for an hour, then had a ten minute car ride home. My boyfriend didn’t eat his fried chips until 8:30pm(I got the food around 5pm). I could hear him crunching as he was eating! Plus, the hot cheetoes in my Mac and cheese still had crunch.

Hell, maybe it’s the Saint Archer’s talking, but this is the best food truck I’ve ever been to in San Diego. The Nonnie was melt in your mouth delicious and ready in 5 minutes along with crisped to perfection French fries. The price is right and the taste is beyond expected. A great pair for the Saint Archer brewery they’re generally parked in front of

Wow! This is top quality food truck. Food is delicious and full of flavor. I had the chicken said hello hot sauce sandwich. The gorganzola cheese went perfectly with the buffalo chicken. The bread was toasted perfectly. And their service is on point. Delivered my meal to me at my table inside and even offered to get me some ketchup. I am a very happy customer!
