Great wonton soup and chicken/veggie stir fry! Good service and no complaints. Will definitely come back if I come back to SD again and have time to spare.

I don’t know why, but there’s 2 Unilocal pages for this restaurant, so I’ll post what I post on their other page: 3÷8÷2015: Salty salty salty! But I guess it’s good for lunch specials if you work around downtown. I was feeling Asian because it was Lunar New Year and thought I should at least get Asian food. The place is right across from the mall and it’s not too packed at 11:30, pretty small establishment. I got the spicy noodles aka pad kee mao or drunken noodles. It was sooo damn salty and oily. I mean, it was decent for a lunch spot but I would not go there for dinner. Doesn’t seem like it’s a real good Thai place, like authentic-wise.

Had a good experience here. Great pad Thai and prices were very reasonable especially for downtown. Pad Thai starts around 7 $ and goes up from there depending on what you want in it. I got shrimp and it came with about 7 big pieces of shrimp in it(they will still have the tails on them). Shrimp pad Thai was about 12 $. Besides pad Thai they have a large selection of other Thai dishes that I will try when I get sick of pad Thai. Which will never happen. Would def go back again.

Good food, not expensive, 8.59 for my lunch, pleasant and efficient service, good basic thai menu. It’s a no frills place but definitely worth coming back. I had hot basil chicken and it was yummy. Easy in and out for a quick lunch. I forgot to ask if they use msg. I guess I will figure that out within short while if I get a headache. Hopefully not…

If you are looking for authentic thai food, keep looking. Hubby brought this back to the hotel since the kids wanted noodles and it was the closest one within walking distance. Portions are large but it’s very Americanized. You’d think especially since they asked my husband if he was Thai, they’d make it a little more authentic. Food isn’t bad, just not very authentic.

Second time I been here. I like this place, it’s pretty good food wise. Small little spot right around the corner from my office. Clean, with friendly staff. Good lunch specials. The prices are good. If your in the area, give them a try.

The food was delicious and the service was great! The waiter came to fill out water glasses every few minutes and the food came out fast. We ordered the pad Thai with chicken and Tom yum soup with duck. I was expecting a spicier pad Thai but it was still delicious!

Highly disappointed. I walked in and greeted the lady by saying, sawadeekap, and she stared at me. I ordered a Pad Thai and I received spaghetti noddles trenched in watered down tomato sauce and vinegar. The mock duck was okay. Never again.

Buen restaurante Thai en San Diego. Todo muy original. Prueba el Pad Thai y el Green Papaya Salad.

Pad Thai was tasteless and then tasted a little like vinegar after squeezing lime on it to add flavor… not the flavor I was looking to add. I read a few reviews before deciding to get takeout from here that defended this place by stating the food was«Americanized» Thai… I’ve had off the grocery shelf boxed kinds and mall Chinese that were better than this dish. I’ve had lots of varieties of pad thai and this was definitely the worst. If you’re still not sure, check out the pictures and see if you can see any flavor in the Pad Thai. Service was quick and friendly. I will say that the calamari appetizer(big fried rings with a sweet dipping sauce) was very good and so was the Thai iced tea. If you’re looking for good pad Thai… keep looking.

Really pretty bad. Tough to make Thai food tasteless but they have accomplished this. Think mall food court quality and you have the idea. Too bad. If you’re looking for genuine Thai, skip this place. Negligent feel all the way around.

I’ve been to this place a few times and i think their food is very good. This place can be pretty busy during lunch but i usually can get seated inside pretty quickly. I like their complimentary soup before each meal and they do change it occasionally. Today I ordered the pad see ew and it was prepared & served in a relatively short time. The noodles were good as well as the chicken and the vegetables. I think I like their spicy noodles better but overall it was a good lunch service.

Great food. I’ve tried most of the items on the menu. They are quick and reasonably priced meals. I love the place.

My one star is equivalent to –5 stars. The WORSE Thai restaurant I’ve ever been in. The WORSE. Their customer service SUCKS. The lunch special soup was gross, my Panang salmon was tough and the curry had a weird texture, the one leaf lettuce salad was undeserving of my attention, their fried wonton was cold, and did I mention their customer service SUCKS?! The lady placed my plate across the empty seat from me, not in front of me and left. So in other words, stay away. Worse Thai restaurant ever.

I was so happy to find that Thai Time near The Sprekles Theater! They serve delicious Thai dishes even on the weekends. I was attending an event at Sprekles and went to dinner here with a friend. Two entries and a huge bowl of steamed rice was plenty to eat. I ordered #42 Ginger with pork. It’s my favorite dish.

My sister and I met here for a casual lunch this afternoon and had a really good experience; the quality of the food and service were excellent. Thai Time redeemed itself as my favorite Thai restaurant in Downtown SD. I tried the Mango Curry with Chicken for the first time and it was delicious. The coconut milk was sweet and creamy; I happily noted large chunks of mango in my bowl(large chunks!). My sister ordered the Pad Thai with Beef which she thoroughly enjoyed. Her request for fresh bean sprouts on the side was met. It’s the little things in life. Our server was especially attentive and pleasant. I’ll definitely be back.

I’m confused by all the two and three star reviews for this place. I thought the food was fine. Typical Thai fare which is rarely bad at any Thai restaurant in my experience. I had the reasonably priced green curry with tofu extra spicy and it tasted no better or worse than any other Thai restaurant I’ve been to. There were no flecks of food particles in my water and no lipstick on my glass. I came in at the peak of lunch hours; the service was quick and efficient and I experienced none of the problems reported by other Unilocalers. You also get a free cup soup right when you sit down. Nice touch! I’m not sure what all the low score Unilocalers were expecting… a complimentary Asian foot massage while they ate?

3.5 stars. Oh my! Expect a wait during lunch hours. I wanted to eat at Sushi Deli 2 but the line was crowding the sidewalk so we came here instead. I ordered the Duck Curry with a spicy level of 5. I should have mixed the curry before eating because the spices were all at the bottom and poor little me was struggling at the end. The prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. There was plenty of meat in my curry and I had a bunch left over after finishing my rice. Service is friendly but definitely slow. Even when you order to go, it takes a while since it’s hard to catch someone to take your order. One good thing is that they can take your order while you’re waiting for your table so they can have it ready once you’re seated.

When the line at Sushi Deli 2 is too long — and of course it always is – head around the corner to Thai Time, where there is never a wait. Don’t be fooled by the fact that the restaurant is nearly empty! Thai Time’s food is delicious, it offers big but not huge portions, it’s inexpensive, and we were in and out of there in less than an hour on a Saturday night, just in time to be early for our show at the House of Blues. A good way to test a Thai restaurant is to order a basic noodle dish like pad thai. My companion and I tried pad thai with duck($ 9.95), and the dish was saucy(NOT dry) with plenty of thoroughly marinated duck. Some places try to get away with giving you half a plate of bean sprouts, but Thai Time’s pad thai offered a heaping mountain of skinny al dente noodles coated nicely with a non-greasy sauce. The pad thai definitely passed our test! We also ordered lad nar with tofu($ 7.95), which was very saucy as it should be and nicely seasoned(although the flavor relied much on black pepper). The tofu was fried and sliced up but was soft when it arrived covered in sauce. The lad nar came with plenty of fresh, crunchy vegetables — carrots, gai lan(Chinese broccoli) and broccoli. The service was better than you’d expect from a casual restaurant. Our server(the only one in the place who was also handling all the to-go orders). He refilled our waters at least twice and checked on us an appropriate amount. It wasn’t the best Thai food I’ve had(and good Thai food is hard to find in San Diego) but it hit the spot and I would definitely go again next time I want a quick, inexpensive meal in downtown San Diego.

3.5 stars Good location on Broadway near Horton Plaza. I like to come here on my lunch breaks. Curry is good. Can’t beat the price… just $ 8 for curry dish, side of rice, wonton, and a bowl of soup. Curry dishes come out quick… plate dishes typically take longer. They have a small outside patio area street side. Small interior dinning set up… nothing fancy. The wait staff is nice.

My name is Anne, I got a plan … so I’m not Santogold singing Anne and having a plan was the opposite of what we had for lunch. We originally planned to go to Sushi Deli downtown(cheap plan) but we hadn’t planned on the line being around the corner and we also didn’t want to wait. Next plan, Panera(chain plan) but why go chain when you can go local? Thai Time was within walking distance of our planned next event(Horton Plaza), so there we were. Thai Time is a cute little casual lunch spot, you could do a working lunch or escape from the concrete jungle for an hour and nosh. And nosh we did. I ordered a peanut sauce dish — I make a mean peanut sauce at home, but they are like apples and oranges. This one was good but not coconut curry like which is what I expected for thai. I nibbled on Andreas Pad Thai, but I really don’t like pad thai EVER so my opinion doesn’t count. If I worked in the area I’d come to Thai Time, but I wouldn’t go out of my way or plan for it if you know what I mean. The service was quick, the prices were cheap and that’s really sometimes all you want in an unplanned type lunch spot.
