Came in for sale teas last week. This teavana is less busy than the Fashion Valley store, or at least it seems more mellow. Even though it’s smaller, it’s still nice and bright in there. The employees are really nice and patient. Jonah is awesome and knows his product. Ask for him! I’m not a tea aficionado, so I needed some help understanding teas and brewing rules, and that’s what I got!

I walked in with the idea of getting my mom a box of tea. Since I have never been inside a teavana before I did not know what I was getting myself into. This place is definitely a place to worship tea — great samples and more ways to brew than I knew existed. Wilfred was extremely helpful and helped me find an amazing gift for my mom. Deana was also friendly and welcoming. I definitely will come back for a gift for myself later. And I can even pay with my Starbucks card!!!

Ketan was so kind, helped me select the best tea to fit my mood and tea tastes. Kindly offering me a sample that was unsweetened which helped solidify my choice. Much better than the fashion valley store! I was greeted warmly and not in a superficial irritated«I’m too good for you but really, I just scoop tea into a bag» kind of way. I’ll drive out of my way to come here instead of fashion valley.

My daughter loves this place but I absolutely hate it. The teas are good, we’ve gotten their iced teas and loose tea by the bag, but it’s very expensive and the staff is always trying to upsell you. My daughter gets drawn in by the sales techniques and begs me for more and more. It’s annoying! They put loads of pressure on you and even give me nasty looks for saying no(polietly) to an upsell. When I go in there, I want to buy what I need and leave without feeling forced into a high pressure sales pitch.

Teavana’s teas are so good. Just a whiff of any of them when they fan their giant lid over their huge containers is amazing and tempts one to make a purchase. I’ve bought fresh tea leaves from another Teavana location a year ago however it was tricky and I think I put too much leaves or steeped it too long and was unable to enjoy it. it tasted too strong. I definitely need to give it a try again or maybe just get drinks made fresh from them since they make it just right! The worker today was friendly and I ended up ordering an iced caramel chai. It was made perfect and chilled. it had hints of caramel and the chai was light perfect over ice as I told the worker I did not want it too sweet. Get your tea fix here! TIP: You can use your Starbucks Rewards Gold Card here~ ;)

I don’t drink coffee, but I LOVE tea! They have a great variety of teas and I love that they always have 2 samples(one hot, one cold tea) out by the front door. I’ve been here twice. The first time, the manager was there and the service was outstanding. Very attentive, walked us around the store and let me try a bunch of different teas… the second time, she wasn’t there and not one single worker greeted us :( They take Starbucks gift cards so that’s good, since I won’t use it on coffee. Just know that the samples taste extra yummy cuz of all the sugar they put in haha. At home you probably shouldn’t do that, unless you wanna get diabetes. It’s also pretty pricey, but for sure it’s high quality tea. But overall, for a non-coffee alternative treat, Teavana hits the spot!

This place has the worst customer service ever. The staff and also the manager(Sheriana ??) was also very rude and appeared annoyed that we ask all of the question…, they really need serious customer service training. Won’t be back for sure!

Cute little tea shop in UTC mall. Is it overpriced? A little. But they have a delicious selection of loose leaf teas, and basically everything you need to make a great pot of tea at home. I came here the other day to shop for a friend’s birthday present, and was able to find just what I was looking for. The guy who was helping me out was very nice, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about all their teas, and made my purchase look beautiful. One-stop shopping with a great result.

Ugh! The customer service could have been better! I came in knowing what I wanted to purchase but still had a few questions. The guy that was helping me was impatient & did not fully answer my questions. When I asked to clarify something, he seemed frustrated & still, did not fully answer my question. There was another worker there & I should have asked him for his services because he was much more helpful. I felt that he could sense how the first worker was just blowing off my questions so he would come over to answer them, which I was thankful for. If you want superior customer service, make the drive to North County Fair because they will answer all of your questions.

This place is so expensive. But you get what u pay for. I love their oolong teas. So I’m sure you’re wondering what’s with the 2 star rating? I basically wanted to buy 13 dollars worth & she ended up charging me 30 dollars worth. I was in a rush and I told her I wanted the one on discount and the person helping me was taking her sweet ass time. After she bagged everything and put it away all pretty. I couldn’t be an asshole and ask her to take everything out and re measure it especially with a one out the door behind me. Will I buy tea here again? Depends. It’s not likely unless I’m desperate. Because once u go loose leaf. Tea tastes better. Individual bagged teas are crap.

Usually I just purchase the loose leaf tea here, but had never actually ordered a hand-made drink. I decided I should give it a shot since everything they sample is so good! I ordered an iced matcha tea(not latte) and she made it right in front of me. She took the time to explain every step she took, and why the tea was so great, etc. etc. She did a really good job at explaining everything and clearly put some effort into making the drink. I got it very lightly sweetened, and it was good! I would be curious to see what kind of milk they use when making a matcha latte though. I really appreciated the effort the sales lady made with me, but of course I didn’t want to buy anything except the drink itself. She took me around the store and had me look at different accessories and the sizes of matcha tins I could buy, but I honestly stopped listening when I heard the price. You can get matcha for 1⁄3 of the price at a Japanese(or I’m sure, other Asian) market. All the teas are awesome — I just wish they weren’t so expensive! Make sure to stock up when they have their 50−75% off sale!

They get you with the free samples! The wild berry orange blossom is an amazing tea. We’ve gotten hooked because of the sheer number of available teas and mixtures. We’ve been back several times to fill up on teas and smell new teas to try. We’ve had great service each time we came in and the person helping was always very friendly and willing to help us explore any taste we like, not just pushing their most expensive teas or products. I feel that their teas are very high quality and unique. Their sales are amazing and you an stock up for a year at 75% off the retail value. Worth the trip and a free sample if you’re new to loose leaf tea. I love tea service places and this place has an amazing selection and quality on par with the best tea services in LA and San Diego.

Fruit fr Europe, tea fr China. I heart good quality tea and good conversation. 2 oz minimum loose leaf purchase I believe. So worth it. Complimentary tea tastings throughout the shop. Take your time up in here. Look, smell and taste everything. 50% — 75% off on selected items if you happen to catch a good sale. Quality is supreme here as well as customer service and the hottie that I just poured tea for. Good God that was a bonus! Youthberry, Oprah Chai, my fave Rooibos and Black, White and Oolong. Cheers to whatever your cup of tea is. If you’re unsure. Teavana is sure to have it

I wasn’t surprised to see the ratings on this place were already pretty bad. The tea is amazing — the employees, NOTSOMUCH! I feel that the customer service at a place like this should be a bit higher considering their location, and their prices, but apparently not. Today was my first time in Teavana. I went with a girlfriend of mine, who goes there often. We sampled a few of the teas on display, and liked one of them. We asked Mayra if we could try buy one of the teas(Iced Raspberry Limeade), and she was extremely rude. She acted like we were idiots and gave us a dirty look, and a sarcastic«NO, we can’t brew those!» Funny, because they had a pot brewed right there! What was also ironic was that my friend had mentioned to me that she was just there yesterday, and they did it for her. It took them what seemed like forever to make us two cups of tea. They weren’t busy ATALL when we got there(there was probably one customer in the store). The two«ladies» didn’t seem like they were doing anything but trying to make a bigger sale. A few customers walked in the store after we were still standing there, waiting for our tea, and Mayra and the other employee quickly helped them first. Did we look like we couldn’t afford to be in there or something? My friend and I frequent the 24 hour fitness next door, and were planning on making Teavana our regular stop after the gym. but I think I’ll probably be spending my money elsewhere.

The Blood Orange Sorbet Iced Tea medium sweet hits the spot in the summer, the fig rose done the same is just as good and yummy very pleasant fig flavor for someone who never really liked figs or dates. All their teas are sooo gooood, never a bad one.

This location is eh! Definitely not as welcoming as the other stores I’ve been to like in Fashion Valley and Horton. He tried to make a little conversation about how sweet I wanted my drink, but he sounded condescending. They are disinterested and they rather gossip with each other than help you choose the best tea for you.

You don’t walk into a Motel 6 expecting a Marriott, and you don’t eat at McDonald’s if you want a gourmet burger. In that vein, don’t walk into Teavana if your pricing and quality expectations are to the tune of 40 bags of Lipton«green tea» dust for the low price of $ 4.99. You can buy that at your supermarket and the tea you make will taste exactly like you spent a dime per cup. I’ve purchased at least one of almost all the tea varietals they offer, and even the less expensive ones are totally worth it. They’ve transformed my tea experience; now when I order tea at a restaurant or coffee shop, I cringe, as it’s clearly coming from a sub-optimal source. There’s almost nowhere else I know of that you can actually walk into a store and purchase quality loose-leaf tea. This particular Teavana is usually less crowded than the others, and perhaps that contributes to the friendly atmosphere. I’ve never been bombarded with sales pitches, just offered assistance when I went to choose what tea and teaware I would start off with. Naturally, they’re going to try to sell you the higher-end pots and varietals, for the simple reason that *they’re higher end*. With good tea leaves and proper tea-making utensils comes actually good-tasting tea! On my first visit, Tyler showed me exactly what I would need to start off, and recommended some good teas. I didn’t want to immediately buy the most expensive things in the store, but once I told him my firm budget and needs, he promptly found the perfect set and a few ounces each of black, green, and herbal teas right at my price point. I walked out delighted with my purchase, and am enjoying even right now a fresh cup of black tea!

This is a typical Teavana but the staff is still fairly new so there’s some improvement to be made. I’m a big tea fan so I appreciate being helped by knowledgeable staff who can answer questions and make recommendations about the various teas. The staff here is hit and miss but I just discovered that they hired Joe who used to work at Infusions of Tea(before it went out of business), so he is a welcome addition to the staff! The store is inviting and I appreciate the free samples of various teas that they have available as it introduces me to new teas I buy. I also appreciate being able to buy just a cup of tea too. The downsides are the prices, lack of tea knowledge by some of the staff and the constant upselling. I’m a big tea drinker(at least 5 cups a day) and enjoy tea shops that are for true tea enthusiasts so this place feels commercial to me. I’ll still be back because it’s convenient if I’m at the mall but for most of my tea shopping I’ll go to Tea Gallerie.

A+++ shop at UTC. Got there this morning at 10 am and was out by 10:30. I had a list of what I wanted and was not pressured to upgrade or buy more(FV location). I spent 75 dollars on 4 different types of tea and a lb and a half of rock sugar. 2 of my regular teas(peachberry jasmine –6oz and White Ayurvedic Chai Tea– 6oz.) I also purchased 2 new teas I wanted to try at 2 – 3 oz each. The Jade Citrus Mint Green Tea and the Dosha chai rooibos are amazing(I hurried home and tried them both). And don’t be fooled, People will say that the rock sugar isn’t different than any other sugar. It is different. It is smoother and sweetness is mild unlike a refined or turbinado sugar., PERFECT for a cup of tea. I have been shopping at Teavana for years. Yes, it is expensive initially, but this tea will last me through the Winter and into Spring. You can brew some of the teas up to 3 times and it actually gets better. I am so happy this low pressure classy shop is open at UTC. It means I will never have to shop at the FV one EVERAGAIN!

First time in a Teavana and first to comment! Yayy! :) So this particular store opened just 3 weeks ago at the UTC Mall, and they’re constantly bustling with people. I found an Oolong Tea that said it was«picked by monkeys». what?! Anyway, I think the most important thing to note is FREE. SAMPLES. OF. TEA.(cold and hot) I blew $ 20-ish easy on 4 oz.(yes, OUNCES) of: Maharaja Chai Oolong(2 oz.) and Samurai Chai Mate(2 oz.) combo + their fancy air tight sealed container($ 6). Long story short. FREE samples of hot and cold teas, pretty cool little shop, and FREE samples of. oh wait I already said that — but it IS free so. ya know ;)
