Absolutely some of the most flavorful tacos I’ve had. Of course, wrapped in hand maid tortillas.

The pollo asado and adobada tacos… so so good. This is my favorite non-seafood taco spot.

3.5 stars, but rounding up. I’ve been a yuuuge Pancho Villa’s the minute I first walked in to the place many years ago and happy when they did their refresh adding the juice bar and Taquería Zapata. I’ve been wanting to try this part for awhile seeing the smoke off the outside grill, but not wanting to stand in the long line. I finally tried it late night. They have a great menu. I ordered the lengua quesadilla and a buche taco. Incredible flavors and hit the spot. They’re greasy, but good greasy done right. The prices and portions don’t add up. The quesadilla was delicious, but it was the smallest one I’ve ever experienced. Normally a quesadilla and a taco will be enough for me, but at these sizes I’d have to order double and end up paying over $ 13. I’ll just stick to the tacos the next time.

These tacos have quickly made their way into my heart and tummy: p They are conveniently located on the outside of Pancho Villa Farmers Market. Menu is simple and easy to pick. Tacos, quesadillas, mulitas, fries with meat and a few canned sodas and aguas frescas. Pro-Tip: just get one of everything! Con Todo(with all the fixings) I like all the tacos, including the chicken. I know what you’re thinking, que? Pollo??? Yes it’s good and flavorful and could be a healthiesh option and try it just for funsies! My husband really enjoyed their Al Pastor fries, just like the regular carne Asada fries but only better because there’s nothing better than al pastor.

SO thankful that somebody else besides Tacos El Gordo is making legit adobada tacos. 4 tacos and a Sprite is probably one of the best meals you can get in San Diego. I’m hesitant to write this review because this place is already starting to blow up.

This place is super legit… it’s just a notch below tacos el Gordo, but closer to my house and no long line… get the al pastor taco with only onions and cilantro then add your own hot sauce and lime… thank me later

I’m torn. Not sure if I’m a big fan of the style. These tacos are so loaded with fixings that they become a sloppy mess. Now a sloppy mess can be nice, but not always if you want a clean munching. You’ll also need to eat these to go, or in the parking lot. There’s no seating. Otherwise, these are hand made, fairly inexpensive and made with gusto.

This place is North Park’s best kept secret in terms of tacos. Authentic, delicious Tijuana style tacos that won’t hurt your wallet. They take Visa. No waiting in long lines to order your food.

Love this place! I rather come here then Taco El Gordo, plus it’s closer to home. Everything on their menu is good.

These tacos are the closest you are going to get in flavor and in price to Tacos El Gordo. For $ 2 a pop, they are a great deal and better than the nearby craft tacos. The 5 star review is for the Adobada, I ask for the meat extra crispy because… that’s how I like it. This is a to-go stand in front of Pancho Villa, so plan on pick-up. LOVE it!

Best adobada and asada this side of Tijuana. The asada isn’t chucks of meat like at most places up here but chopped up thin slices(like it’s supposed to be!!) and it gets some crispness and smokey flavor when they crisp it up prior to serving. The adobada is cooked pastor style on a spit with pineapple on the top of the spit to baste the meat with juices. They slice some off to order and crisp it before serving. Plus they’re attached to a grocery store(Pancho Villa) so all the ingredients are very fresh. Also at $ 2 a taco their prices are great. Menu is limited but in what they do they are the best. Que rico!

I haven’t tried anything else but their chicken tacos, and I was a bit dissapointed. It is conveniently located and looks very clean. But my meat was just a bit on the dry side. I will give a shot for the other streetfood items they have.

Great tacos!!! Good price and they taste great. A taco is a form of art which takes time to create so expect to wait for your order.

Located in front of the Pancho Villa Market, this little place is serving up some tasty Mexican street tacos and as of 12÷12÷15, all street tacos cost $ 2, no matter what you get. I ordered two al pastor tacos and one carne asada with all the fixings. The two al pastor tacos, including the carne, came on great corn tortillas that were grilled up with a little oil, so they had that nice translucent moist texture and flavor. The al pastor pork meat was tender and had a great chili, herbs, spices, pineapple, and achiote flavor, but most importantly, the meat had that great char flavor that gave the al pastor that X-Factor. The guacamole salsa was creamy and cool with good flavor and some was the salsa they added underneath. These were some great al pastor tacos. The carne asada taco was good. The beef was tender, but needed to me seasoned a little more. It did have a good mesquite and char flavor which is important. The freshly made guacamole was nicely made and tasted good. It was simple, yet effective. Good taco. They offer no seating, except for a small standing eating bar along the shopping cart parking area right in front of the eatery. Not a bad place to get your Mexi-Street Taco Fix.

A few weeks ago, during a game of Apples to Apples, I successfully argued that a philly cheese steak sandwich was more cosmic than a shooting star. My dear friends, I’d like to add the Adobada tacos from Taqueria Zapata to that list. Be sure to ask for grilled green onion, radishes and hot sauce on the side. Will be coming back here to explore more of the menu.

The little shopping center this place is in is becoming a one stop shop place for me. Love this new taqueria– it’s in the same building as Pancho Villa Market with a little window outside! $ 2 street tacos. They’ve got some pretty good adobada going on, and their sauces are spot on. Now I can get my hair cut, do my grocery shopping, and have some legit tacos all in one short trip! Don’t get me wrong, I still love me some Tacos El Gordo, but if I don’t want to drive all the way down there and wait in an hour long line and hunt down a table, I will happily just come here for a quickie. :)

This outdoor, Mexican, food stand opened this month as part of the renovations at Pancho Villa supermercado. They offer a variety of take-out Mexican that can be taken home or eaten at the nearby patio. It’s only available outside the store. They make tacos, quesadillas, and abodaba fries. They make food with tripe, lengua, pork belly, and other fun and delicious options. A large order of fries is $ 10 and will feed 2 as a meal. Tacos are ~$ 2.50 and quesadillas ~$ 33.50. Tried and loved the abodaba fries. Will definitely be back to try other options. Like the grocery store, parking could be a pain, but check out the spots to the east for extra options. They take credit cards.
