We used to go there about once a week. No more. After complaining about an annoying experience with a waitress who couldn’t wait(interruptive, rushed through meal, took plates & glasses before we were done, & would begin speaking while behind me — before getting to the table) … and getting no response, we’ll find another place to drop $ 100 — $ 150.

We had a dinner for a large group(24 people) last Thursday evening and EVERYTHING was excellent. The appetizers were great as were the entrees and desserts. We also had very nice wines and Thursday’s wines are half price so a real deal. The staff is very friendly and prompt. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a superbly cooked meal at a very reasonable price.

This last weekend we arrived a little early as we were celebrating our 12th wedding anniversary and looked forward to this restaurant as we have been there a few times. The owner/chef came to our table and went over his specials for the evening. He is a very cool guy. The waitress was a sweetheart and was on point with the full menu. It is a focused menu that changes items frequently and not large. We had the«fish of the day.» It was sea bass. The portion was double of what we expected. The rest of the meal was excellent. There is a nice selection of wine too. The parking lot had plenty of room as the other businesses were closed after 5 pm. Please support this local business it is a «jewel».

Great food, Nice staff! We ordered the mussels and Duck Tacos, to start, they were both DELISH! I highly suggest them. We also ordered the Salmon and Leg of Lamb. Both exceeded expectations. Salmon had a perfect crust, and lamb was fork tender. It’s not over priced and you can taste the quality. It’s a good stop… Give it a try. :)

Table 926 is a hidden treasure. I’ve lived in San Diego for four years and I didn’t even know this place existed in Pacific beach. A great place for a small get together with friends or perfect place for date night. They have awesome specials during the week, especially on Wednesdays! The food is absolutely divine and our server, Alex, was phenomenal. Alex really knew the menu well and gave excellent recommendations and fantastic customer service! We will definitely be back!

This place is amazing… What’s even more amazing is that the place was half empty. It’s a diamond in the ruff. I started the meal off right with a coffee and a bloody. The coffee was from pannikin a local spot in La Jolla area and the bloody was super good. Mid way through waiting for our meals to come out, our waitress asked if we wanted their special scones(don’t mind if I do). The scones were cheese, jalepeno and with a few other spices. You should get them too! For our main course I got the 926 hash — w duck confit and my boyfriend got the seasonal French toast. It was delish guys. If you haven’t been here yet, you gotta try it out! You won’t be disappointed.

So happy we found this excellent restaurant. The brussels sprouts appetizer was perfect: nicely seared and blackened on the outside yet still tender and flavorful without being burnt. Some interesting and unexpected flavors in there too. Also loved the yellowtail special on cous cous in a richly flavored tomato saffron broth. Thank you for your commitment to sustainability. Also loved the wine from central coast. We’ll have to come back for date night at some point.

Shout out to the awesome Dessert/Pastry Chef here Mr. Justin Sazon. He makes some awesome bomb desserts so come on by to Table 926 to eat his fabulous desserts! You can also say Justin sent you to harass him :). Location: Not too familiar with this area, but it has its own small parking lot. Otherwise, street parking guys. Décor: Really nice. Very fancy with the wine bottles and some art on the wall. It has a lot of light due to its window structure they have, but not so daunting as a huge piece of glass. Food & Drinks: I only came for desserts! :) I just remember ordering everything off the dessert menu except for the ice cream and cheese plate. Each month the menu changes and I went in the month of June, for my birthday. It was a surprise by my girlfriend and Justin as I got to enjoy a wonderful night eating great desserts. There was a stonefruit dish, a sponge cake, and a lot of other yummy things. Just go try it and enjoy! GREATDESSERTEATINGMYFRIENDS!

For Mother’s Day on May 10, 2015, we came here with Mom. Nice little place away from the hustle and bustle of PB, but close to the Beach. We were a party of 5 and were promptly seated when we arrived early for our reservation. The service is great — expect professional experienced staff, they were the highlight of our visit. We started off with a round of mimosas including the complementary champagne for all the Mother’s dining that day. Two members of our party ordered the crab omelette, which had no crab in it, just what appeared to be a generous portion of avocado & what may have been a half teaspoon of crab. They had also run out of the chocolate mousse at this point. I know we may have arrived for brunch a little late at 1:30pm but really? You ran out of one of your featured desserts and the main ingredient for one of your main entrees? Why not just remove those from the menu or let us know before we ordered??? I really wanted to like this place, I really did but after the lack of preparedness and an unwillingness to make up for it, I could never recommend this place to anyone, especially after charging us $ 38.00 per person. Expect to receive extremely unprepared kitchen staff & poor quality of food, but service with a smile.

I was here for a Mother’s Day brunch. Our server was very nice & polite but the menu items were overpriced and not very good. $ 38 for a fixed Mothers Day Brunch menu isn’t bad but you can’t serve me an Eggs Benedict and an ice cream desert and not want more. For $ 38 I expect to eat the best ice cream I’ve ever had & the best Eggs Benedict I’ve ever tasted with possibly gold shavings and chocolate sprinkles from Belgium. To start the Eggs Benedict I was served was not a $ 28 Eggs Benedict(assuming the desert would be priced around $ 10)! Sorry but I have had way better for $ 15 at Chocolat, Babycakes or Fig Tree Café in Hillcrest or The Cottage in La Jolla. When desert time came around my party had 3 choices; Chocolate Mousse, a Trio of Sorbets with an Oatmeal Cookie and something else but we were told there was no chocolate mousse. This was an issue since 3 out of 5 in our party wanted that. We then selected the Trio of Sorbets but were told there’s no Blood Orange or Cranberry Tea Sorbet either. Those would be substituted with Chocolate & Mint ice cream. Our deserts arrived, each bowl showing 3 scoops with Chocolate ice cream, Mint ice cream and Apricot sorbet. The Apricot sorbet was too concentrated of a flavor with no balance or sweetness. The chocolate ice cream had a watered down flavor and a bit watery. The point is, this restaurant is okay for $ 15 per entrée but for $ 38 for a café style menu item with a desert it’s not worth the price of admission. For what I ate I would expect to pay $ 25 at most. First it’s overpriced and second the food isn’t that good. You are way better off going elsewhere.

The chef hooked us up with a special sugar free detox menu for my gym. Beef cheeks were amazing and a frozen banana dark chocolate dessert. Also came in for brunch. I had the seasonal omelette with veggies, goat cheese and potatoes. Minus one star for not having real shredded hashbrowns. I’m so over«home fries»! Overall, good service and flavorful food.

Came here for their restaurant week 3-course menu. For starters, I opted for the Grilled Short Ribs. This had chimichurri on top with a side of quinoa. It was quite a tasty dish. I enjoyed the tangy flavor of the sauce. The meat had a slight chew. The quinoa was a bit boring, but overall, it was good. A couple of friends got the Sautéed Gnocchi, which came with pork belly, piquillo peppers, arugula, and poached egg. I had a taste of just the gnocchi, which was good but rich. My friends commented that the pork belly didn’t seem to belong in the dish. Other than that, it was good. For the main entrée, most of us chose the Brown Ale Braised Pork Cheeks. This may be the first time I’ve had pork cheeks, and I must say, it was tenderiffic! My knife did not get lifted once since it was not needed at all. They were sooooo moist and tender. The glaze on top was a perfect partner to the meat as well as the hominy grits and the sautéed kale. This was a very delicious dish. The dessert was probably the weakest dish, but the lava cake served with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream was still a nice finish to the wonderful meal. It oozed as it should, and it wasn’t overly sweet, so I thought it was fairly decent. It was a busy evening, so it was understandable that service was on the slow side. However, the ambience was enjoyable and food was pretty good, so I would definitely come back even if just for those delicious cheeks.

I went here for my graduation brunch and had a pleasant experience. The staff was welcoming and the meal was enjoyable. They brought out all of our meals at different times. Since we all waited for the food to arrive, by the time we were all served, the food was cold. When leaving the restaurant, my mother felt a bit light headed and asked for some water. They said they do not carry to go cups and didn’t suggest anything else. It seemed as if once she paid and the bill was picked up, they were no longer concerned about us. I do not think I will be returning to this restaurant.

Enjoyed a nice dinner with another couple a few weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. There was nothing about Table 926 that was negative in any way. On the other hand, there was nothing remarkable either. We had a professional server who treated us well and knew the menu, the food was good, although I will refrain from the use of superlatives, and the atmosphere is La Jolla modern. Would I return? Yes. Will I be a regular? No. There was nothing outstanding or remarkable or unique that set Table 926 apart enough from the top spots to make us say, «We need to come back next week». Solid 3+

I came here for their Sunday brunch and guess brunch is not what they are known for. We were waiting for some more people to arrive so we started with their breakfast tacos and breakfast empanadas which were both hot and really tasty. I got the breakfast panini and everything inside the sandwich was decent and hot but the bread was not meant for a panini, it really just took over the sandwich and was too much. They really need a thin panini bread for this sandwich. They also brought my meal out about 5 minutes before the other people I was with. On a better note, the potatoes that accompany the panini were really great. P. S. There is parking in the lot

Great food, great service and nice ambience — what more could you want?!? I’ve been here a handful of times and was very pleased each time. The menu changes periodically and the specials are always good. We went for Restaurant Week last night and we ended up having one 3-course RW meal and one a la carte entrée which was more than enough. We shared the Mushroom and Chicken Pâté appetizer(portion was larger than I expected) which was very tasty. The Pork Schnitzel with Mushroom Gravy with Wilted Spinach and Mashed Cauliflower was flavorful and the Jidori Chicken was tender and the grits yummy. The Chocolate Lava Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream was delicious. The prices are fair for the high quality ingredients. I personally think this is a better option than a lot of the more expensive, pretentious restaurants in La Jolla and Del Mar. We plan to be back… soon! PS — parking can be a challenge so I recommend going early. We had a 6:15pm reservation and had no problems parking and making an 8pm movie at Arclight.

Located in North PB/Bird Rock. The restaurant is pretty and romantic. The cuisine is what they now call«New Californian» I enjoyed the food greatly. It was fresh and prepared right. I didn’t think the prices were fair, it’s on the overpriced side. Will I go back? Only if I have some kind of 2 for 1 deal. I’m glad I tried though.

My new job takes me to San Diego on occasion, so I told my Unilocal friend Toonces that I was going to check out her reviews to see where to go. Toonces and I have a special relationship: She is my 200th yf. But our relationship is also special because I initially thought Toonces was a guy — LOL!!! Toonces is such a nice person, that she asked me to meet her here. I don’t know about some of you, but eating alone while traveling for business sucks. When Toonces invited me to meet her I said, Hell Yeah!!! Table 926 is located on Turquoise Lane on the border of Pacific Beach and La Jolla. It is a bit hard to find because it is tucked in the back of a little parking lot. But owner/chef Matt Richman(Toonces knows him, but Toonces seems to know everyone :-), has a nice gem of a bistro here. We had dinner on a Thu when they have certain bottles of wine at half off. Toonces and I settled on a Spanish Rioja that accompanied our following dishes well. We ordered the cauliflower bisque, octopus salad w/arugula, halibut cheeks w/potatoes and pork belly w/spinach and polenta. I can’t remember the cost of each item, but the tab was $ 62 after 50% off the wine(net cost of the wine was $ 20). In addition, we were comped on the soup because it was a small portion and Toonces is hawt. Toonces really liked the soup. I didn’t have any, but the consistency looked creamy and the color was good — Always a good sign! She almost wished she ordered the full portion: 4 Stars. The octopus salad was also very good. The octopus was tender and the arugula fresh and peppery. My only recommendation is that it needed a larger portion of octopus: 3.5 Stars. The halibut cheeks were tasty too. I had a similar dish at the recently reviewed Hog Island Oyster Bar in SF, and the only difference was the latter’s halibut was more moist. Otherwise, the combination on this dish was well thought out: 4 Stars. Lastly, the pork belly dish was very well conceived too. The savory and crispy pork belly, contrasted well w/the slight crispness of the greens and smoothness of the polenta: 4 Stars. Ali, the bartender took really good care of us. She let us taste several wines before we settled on the Rioja. The food came out quickly, and the remainder of the staff were very nice: 5 Stars. The ambiance is very nice too. The place is small, so there are a few seats at the bar and a half dozen or so tables. The only gripe is the bathroom is outside the restaurant. I jokingly asked which tree I should use: 4 Stars. I would definitely come back here again. There are daily specials to keep the menu fresh and all the dishes are well thought out. With regards to meeting Toonces again, take a look at my check-ins the next time I am in San Diego…
