Seriously best sushi in town. I look forward to them every other Thursday when they are at Calibr. Sushi is always spot on, the consistency is amazing. Always good and tastes great

Really really good sushi! To be perfectly honest, i wasn’t expecting anything other than average sushi. But i was shocked! We ordered a few rolls, all were really amazing. Even the plain ol’ california roll was super fresh and delicious! I will be looking for their truck next time i’m in North Park!

Compared to the food from other sushi restaurants, the sushi from this food truck is below average. Megusta roll was very fishy and the Seared Tuna roll was decent, but not amazing. I’ve never had sushi from a food truck before and this was probably the first and last time for me.

We make a trip to Fall Brewing at least twice a month to eat Sushi Uno. They’re there every Sunday and it is always a treat. People are always discouraged when I tell them that my absolute favorite place for sushi right now is on a food truck, but I have truly never had anything taste so fresh. They make the food rather quickly and deliver it to the tables(at Fall.) The prices are a bit high, between $ 5-$ 14 for a specialty roll, but you’re paying for quality and it’s well worth it in the end. Their jalapeño poppers are delicious, too.

Great appearance. Slow service. Ordered in less than 2 mins. Took more than 25 min for 2 rolls. First impression was great. It was snail mail from then on. Killer food… Step up the turn around

I have to say I was a bit skeptical because another sushi food truck used to come by my work and I had a bad experience. This truck on the other hand was real good. Got my food within 10 mins of ordering. The pricing is reasonable(I mean sushi is expensive). I was really hungry and was very satisfied ordering the spicy tuna handroll and tiger roll. Had I checked some reviews prior I would’ve tried the poppers. Spent about $ 16 for my order. Will definitely try them again, especially since it seems like they’re now a regular visitor to the work area.

Great concept and great sushi! I ate here at the Foodie Fest it was my choice for lunch. I got the Cali roll, seared tuna roll, dragon roll, and jalapeño poppers. All the sushi was fresh and great quality. I thought it could use a little more Mexican flare. I will def be back and follow this truck.

Loved this food truck when it came to my apartment complex near Serra Mesa. I look forward to having it return. I found the food fresh and flavorful. So many rolls to try… so little time :-)

Mexican Sushi??? Hell Yeah!!! This stuff is AMAZING! Jalapeño poppers are Jalapenyoface, so good. The SeaMonster roll is ridiculous. Glad we had them here today. I made my order and the guy brought them to my desk. That’s just good service. Definitely ordering again when they’re here

Mexican — Food Truck — Sushi The Megusta –Real crab, avo, cucumber, Jalapeño, and cilantro under yellowtail. When this truck pulls up to UTC I’m just never brave enough to buy Mexican Sushi. Today I was hankering for sushi so I chose convenience over common sense. I ordered the Megusta because it had real crab, not that fake krab fish stuff. First off, the roll made it to my office intact. It looked pretty good and looked very fresh. The ginger was also fresh which is important to me because I’m one of those that actually eat the stuff. A tiny melon ball of green wasabi was also included in my plastic togo clam. From a taste perspective, each bite really gave me what I was looking for. Full, well balanced flavor, yet still keeping the yellowtail front and center. What I didn’t like was the cilantro inside. This gave the roll a very gritty texture that wasn’t very pleasant. All in all, I would buy more rolls from this truck.

Very good, I love spicy style rolls and the best part was they weren’t fried and covered in messy sauce!!!

Several weeks at work went by before I built up the nerve to try the Sushi truck. I mean, I just had a complex about sushi from a truck. But then, a co-worker started raving about it. And another one. And another one. And another one. So I couldn’t wait until Friday(the day they typically show up in the hood for lunch) Lord have mercy, I’m so glad I tried this truck. I had the jalapeño poppers(generously stuffed with crab) since I was still a little unsure about the whole truck thing. The next time, I went big and had a roll, and damn was it worth it. I can’t really say enough about how yummy this sushi truck is — I only wish they came around more often!

These guys came to my office for lunch this week. Outstanding quality from Catalina offshore. The rolls were great and the nigiri was even better. I mentioned something to the team about my order and they went above and beyond to make up for it. Their customer service is some of the best I’ve experienced. Word to the wise, the crab stuffed jalapeño poppers are awesome. Fresh jalapeños and perfectly fried breeding, super good appetizer or dessert :)

Sushi… on a truck?!? Well it was DELICIOUS! Very fresh, flavorful and filling! I had the Matador roll and the shrimp inside was perfectly fried and crunchy, the avocado was ripe and creamy, the cucumber was crunchy and the cilantro gave it a fresh pop. On top the cooked shrimp was plump and the sauce was flavorful. The combination of creamy soft ingredients with the crunchy ingredients gave it great texture but honestly it was just damn good! I also had my favorite nigiri — yellowtail. For checking in I received a free piece and then I bought the second to make it nice and even. The portion was HUGE!!! The yellowtail was deliciously buttery as it should be! Only complaint is I wish it was just a bit colder, maybe it was the fact that it was packaged with the roll that had cooked warm items on it so no need to ding the review a star. The truck itself is not fancy but don’t let it fool you, they have great sushi. I prefer it to Sabuku which I live by and NEVER go to(for many reasons). OH and they get their fish from Catalina Offshore so you know those ingredients are top notch! I’ll take sushi from this truck any day!

Knowing that this food truck gets their sushi grade ingredients from Catalina Offshore Products makes a difference. Cutting corners and using a cheaper source is an option, but the quality is noticeable. I haven’t previously heard of Sushi Uno until we discovered them parked in front of Thorn St Brewing(beer review posted separately). This evening’s food truck snacks: — Jalapeño poppers — Mexican roll — Seared tuna roll — UNO special roll It’s not the prettiest vehicle among the fleet of fancier, artsy wrapped kitchens on wheels I’ve seen, but don’t let Sushi Uno’s modest appearance fool you. The food is great, both in presentation and taste. Even the free nigiri with Unilocal check-in is legit. These poppers aren’t those previously frozen barstool variety cream cheese filled, breaded bites. The garden fresh peppers are stuffed with crab mix and coated in panko bread crumbs. Not too spicy, yet so tasty. 3 poppers for $ 5. You can’t go wrong with any of the freshly made sushi rolls. We picked out a few to share and choosing an absolute fave was a draw. Service was friendly and efficient. They gave us a table number so we could enjoy our beers inside and they delivered the goods. If you ever find Sushi Uno posted up at a tasting room, farmers market, or in front of Catalina Offshore, then treat yourself to a Sushi Uno snack. You’re worth it.

I discovered Sushi Uno by accident while attending a performance by singer extraordinaire, Celeste Barbier. She was performing in front of The Headquarters by Seaport Village, and Sushi Uno(which is a gourmet food truck btw) was sitting there along with another food truck. I’m sometimes wary about ordering sushi from a food truck, but I was really glad I did! I had a light snack of a seared tuna roll filled with krab, cucumber, and shrimp tempura. It was topped with some of the most delicate and delectable tuna I have ever tasted! It was so tender that it seemed to melt in my mouth! I also noticed that the slices of tuna were very large and covered 2⁄3 of the roll from side to side. I also got my choice of one nigiri simply for checking into Unilocal,so I opted for the salmon. They asked if I wanted a slice of lemon on top, and I said«hellz yeah!.» One bite in and I realized that the salmon was even more tender than the tuna. The owner/chef told me that they source out their fresh fish from local fishermen who fish off the coast of La Jolla, which is pretty cool. I’ll definitely hit up Sushi Uno in the near future if they attend any events that I do!

What a find! We drove to Catalina Fish Market off Morena Blvd to get fresh fish for dinner and outside in the parking lot was this FABULOUS food truck! $ 7 for a Yellow Tail roll that was absolutely delicious! Treat yourself when you’re in San Diego.

So creative! I love the concept of Mexican-fusion sushi. I actually forget the name of our roll, but it was tuna and avocado topped with a sliver-thin slice of lemon, which was the kicker for me! What a great idea. The sashimi was also fresh and delicious. Do NOT be weirded out by sushi from a truck. There’s no reason this isn’t as fresh(or fresher) than a restaurant. If you love sushi, check this place out for something a little different.
