Friendly staff! I came in during a delivery, and Ballast Point’s Pumpkin Down was coming off the truck. First time it was bottled in 2015, and while it’s not a super rare beer by any means, the staff went out of their way to grab me a six pack before it got on the shelves. Nice beer cave, as others have mentioned. Will be back, (especially to grab some Victory DirtWolf DIPA I’ve been eyeing)!

Best customer service of all point Loma!
Every visit I make is a great experience. The employees are quick to help. Whether it be for your selection or even helping you carry what you need to the counter, they are happy to help. It isn’t some 60+year old at the cash register that may offer a line of conversation. The guys there are there because they love the job and I honestly believe they take a genuine interest in you as the customer and don’t just try to get you in and out the door. Ten out of ten every time

Just moved to the neighborhood and came here for the first time today. One of the best liquor stores I’ve been to. Awesome beer selection. There is even a beer cave with a good variety so you can have cold beer right away! That’s just smart. They have a pretty good selection of wine and hard liquor too. Sunshine Liquor rules.

Obsessed with the beer cave at this place and the owner too! His name is Pete and is really nice and for all you ladies out there he is not bad too look at either ;p I come here once a week if not twice a week for candy and beer. Huge selection of fresh snacks always and lots of craft beers. The owner is extremely knowledgeable of everything in the store and a local San Diegan. I love that too. This place is a great place to stop when your in OB!

Hands-​down friendliest liquor store within walking distance from my house.
Check out the beer cave – it’s sure to impress. If you’re driving here, enter the parking lot from the north side because it will set you up to exit the lot easier from the east. Very easy access from Nimitz or Voltaire.

When Im in OB, I try to stop at this store. The owner Peter… super nice guy, very helpful and know his beers. The beer cave is a must see. I usually stop in for 15 20 min and BS with Peter. Cool local store with fair prices. Give it a shot, beats the crap out of going to the big stores! The flower shop across from him is pretty cool to.

Cool staff, they have their own beer fridge, and they let you borrow hoodies to go check it out. Their beer selection is of the chain! You can lose your mind trying all the different beers here, haven’t been dissapointed yet, and the staff are more than welcome to help you find what you’re looking for. Tucked away on Voltaire on the way to Point Loma. Must check out!

These guys have a WALK IN FRIDGE full of an amazing selection of beers from NorCal, Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Texas… the list goes on! You want Shiner Bock or Big Wave or just some Stone IPA? They’ve got it — maybe even in a keg! If you live in the OB/​Point Loma/​Loma Portal area, go to Sunshine. You’ll get great service every time, and I guarantee you’ll find the beer (or wine) you’re looking for!!!

A great selection of San Diego County’s Micro Brews plus all the usual stuff you’d expect to find in a liquor store. Bring a jacket for the walk-​in fridge as they keep em cold! And the guys who run the place are pretty cool/​friendly too.

I love this place. HUGE selection of beer. The guys working there are always friendly. During our hot as hell summer, I would linger in their walk in fridge for a minute or two to cool off, and they were cool with that. Also they don’t charge for credit or debit cards. My only complaint is that I wish they were open later. They are my go-​to and I don’t like going anywhere else.

been shopping here for alcohol past 3 years. have great repor with the owner. they were great when told about ‘new’ red bull cola, they ordered it and was in within two weeks!
