I made my first appointment with Debbie. She is a great hair stylist because she makes the hair cut that goes with your face, your type of hair, easy to do it by yourself and give you personality. I’ve just move to San Diego and Debbie will be my personal hair stylist from now on.

been a while since i’ve updated…
i have been continuing to come and get my deep conditions done here… I rarely cut my hair (hence it being crazy long)…but love to come get pampered by Amber.
I get a fabulous wash and deep condition to keep my locks shiny and smooth!

My hair has been in the talented hands of Amber since I moved to San Diego and I couldn’t be more thrilled with it or her! I move frequently and finding a hair stylist is one of the most frustrating things I do every few years, but from the moment I walked into summer salon I knew I found my new hair home! Amber is incredibly knowledgeable, and has a fabulous eye for color, and style. The salon is beautiful, and has an extremely pleasant upbeat vibe! She runs an amazing salon and I am so thrilled to be one of her clients!

Amber is a great colorist and stylist– I asked for lowlights, highlights, and the result was amazing! She placed the lowlights and highlights in the right place and created a pop of color around my face and depth of color throughout. Her salon is comfortable and personable.

My hair has been in the talented and loving hands of Amber (owner of SS and all around hair guru) for nearly twelve years now. If Mother Nature had her way, my head would be draped in a one-​dimensional, bland, dirty dish water shade of yuck. However… thanks to Amber, that is not the case! Color, highlights, and my favorite… lowlights, all come together to make me feel like the natural blonde that I was as a child.
When it comes to atmosphere and vibe, Summers Salon is the absolute best of both worlds. Cozy, but not small. Professional, but not intimidating. Hip, but not pretentious. You will be surrounded by beautiful and accomplished ladies; some wearing to die for shoes and accessorized to the hilt, and some rocking chucks and perfectly fitting jeans. That’s one of the many things I love about SS. All the ladies may be different in style, but they are all at the top of their game in the beauty business, and they are all genuinely nice people.
New topic… Let’s talk about product. Maintaining great color requires using quality product, we all know that. SS carries only the best of the best, but you will never feel pressured to buy 75 different products… although I do recommend heeding your stylist’s suggestions. Of all the products Amber has recommended, I have been over the moon with 90% of them. She will not sell you a product or service just to turn a buck.

My new favorite place to get my hair done! I absolutely loved this salon, it feels really cozy and yet professional. Amber is an incredible stylist and can recommend you a haircut even when you have no idea what you want:) I’m really happy with the result. We’ll be definitely coming back here!

I first met Amber at a beauty supply store, when I was trying to fix my own hair from a previous hair-​disaster. She offered me her card, and told me she could correct it if I needed help. She completely took my shameful hair, and made it amazing – a healthy, natural, beautiful color. I was so grateful and happy with the result! Every visit since, I’m so pleased with the color & the cut, and Amber is sensitive to the fact that I can’t afford to come in every 4 – 6 weeks – she sets me up for a few months with her adept application of subtle highlights and colors blending into my own. Amber truly listens to what you want and your ideas, and has excellent suggestions of her own. I highly recommend her for sophisticated color & highlights, and a great cut. She’s a really wonderful person, too. Thanks Amber!

I’ve been seeing Amber to have my hair cut for a few years now, she always does an amazing job and doesn’t mind doing men’s hair either. She’s great to consult if you’re interested in changing up your look or just getting a trim and she always makes sure you’re looking your best when you leave. It’s a casual but classy atmosphere, air conditioned and cool in the summer too!

Amber is a life saver… or should I say a hair saver! After a highlight disasters I went to see amber for color correction. She was amazing, professional and quick! My hair was saved, feels way healthier and she didn’t even try to sell me on any unneeded product. Seriously loved her and her work. I have been going to Amber Summers for almost 4 years now. She is hands down the BEST hairstylist. I seriously drive down from SM to SD for her! Finding a new stylist is a pain in the butt, and all your friends recommend their stylist, of course. This time I took the advice of a co-​worker and made an appointment with Mish at summer salon. I have a short haircut, and not everyone can cut short hair. Well… Mish rocked it out without making me go broke. She was super cool to talk to, really listened to what I wanted… and didn’t. She made sure we were on the same page and she delivered. I am so thankful to have found a stylist that I can afford to go to that can still make me look like I spent some serious money. Thanks Mish!

I have known Diana at Summer Salon for about 12 years and she’s been doing my hair for about 5 of those years. She is such an awesome hair stylist I have been to stylist’s before that pressure you into ALWAYS having a trim at every appointment and Diana is not that girl. She is always open to listening to exactly what the client wants. She is also very open to new ideas, if you decide to be blonde on one appointment and brunette the next, you are never hassled by her for wanting a change. Everywhere I go, girls are constantly complimenting me on my hair, I hand out her cards right and left and have had several friends go to Diana and are always very pleased with her work. She also has very reasonable prices.
Summers Salon is also a very welcoming salon. It is conveniently located off the 5 freeway, easy to find and they have there own parking lot (very rare for Little Italy) The salon is cozy and everyone that works there is very friendly, definitely not a snobby salon!
I would, and have, recommend Diana and Summers Salon to anyone!

I had the best salon/​spa day ever a couple days ago.
Went to Aileen to get a relaxing facial where it feels as if all your worries are gone. Aileen did such a fab job. She even massaged my neck and arms.
I also had my eyebrows and lip sugared and as a person that usually gets waxed and threaded, sugaring is the way to go. I’m so glad Aileen introduced me to it.
The main reason why I initially wanted to go to Aileen is to get eyelash extentions. My eyelashes look so full with 45 lashes per eye. Aileen will let you know what works best for you. She’s also the best deal in town because she does a great job and knows her products. She is consistantly doing research on the newest product and tests it herself. She will answer all your questions and knows what’s she’s doing (she’s been doing this for 3+ years).
Mish totally knew what to do with my hair. I had a vision for it and in a few words of describing it, she knew exactly what i was talking about. She layered my hair without taking off any length. She also colored my dark as can be Black hair to a dark to medium brown that makes it look natural but gives me a fresh, new look.
I love these 2 girls and are soooo glad I found people I trust with my face and hair!

Mish did my hair last year in 2009. I had a hair cut and color done. After my hair cut, my hair felt voluminous and vibrant. What really amazed me was how well she colored my hair. She asked me to pick out a color in a magazine. I picked out a subtle, Kristin Kreuk-​esque brown shade. She was able to match it exactly! :)
