Great ambiance. Would be a perfect date spot. I ordered food to go through Unilocal on my mobile phone which was easy and super convenient. Food was yummy and spicy. I recommend giving them a try.

Okay — first off, online ordering right from the Unilocal app? Amazeballs! Love that convenience. Couple it with polite service and the order being ready when they said it would, and: *****5 Stars***** Tom Kah Soup — my benchmark for trying out any new Thai place: this was alright — pleasant but didn’t get that magic balance of flavors that made me fall in love with this cuisine in the first place. ***2.5 Stars*** Pad See-Eau Noodles — fail. These were greasy and soggy — that overwhelmed any flavor they did or didn’t have — I can’t even remember what it tasted like. It was edible, but not enjoyable. Most went in the trash. :( *0.5 Star* Ka-Prao(Chili and Basil Leaves) with beef — awesome — party in our mouths — we fought over the last bits of this. *****5 Stars***** Average: 3.25 stars So as you can see, the food is hit and miss. We will definitely give it another try. That spicy basil dish was amazeballs and is worth coming back for. Hopefully we’ll discover some other«hit» dishes to pair with it — and if I do I’ll make sure to update this review — if not we’ll probably just resort to getting double orders of the Ka-Prao.

So so good. They give you a spicy heat scale of 1 to 10. I chose 9 and it was insanely spicy! Nothing is ever spicy enough for me. It was still delicious though. Next time I’ll go with 6 heat. I had the basil beef lunch combo. Great service. The place had an authentic feel and the food was very fresh.

Delicious! Really cute atmosphere. They have some kind of deal or discount going on every day of the week. Indoor and outdoor seating. Awesome staff… Exceptional!

Service was HORRIBLE. Never have I been to a restaurant before, and had so much free time to think to myself«when can I leave?» before ordering… Was greeted 10 mins standing by the door for 10 mins. was brought to our table and left there with a menu… spent 20 mins flagging down the waitress to get two glasses of water and order food… took another 30 mins for appetizers to come… at this point, I was so annoyed by the service i could not wait to leave… the place was also very loud. Had to scream across the table so my boyfriend could hear me. the food here was just okay. have had better. NEVERCOMINGBACK.

Panang Curry and Pad Thai were delicious! Delivery was quick. Medium spice is pretty darn spicy, but very tasty. Definitely will come here again.

delicious sweet basil eggplant and curries. always satisfied, especially given the short walk for pickup. however it turns out«medium» is a bit too spicy for some. not that it’s overly spicy, but if the tum-tum is delicate — maybe«mild» is the way to go. besides the note-to-self above… solid neighborhood thai.

Great atmosphere with authentic thai food at a reasonable price. The menu is somewhat limited but my experiences have always been good. Try the street side thai chicken, pad thai, or the cry tiger cry. The restaurant itself is really nice with a quaint atmosphere.

I was recently contacted by the company about an issue and was told it would be fixed immediately. I am thankful that they value their customers. Great customer service!

Very good customer service. I liked their chicken pad thai and sweet and sour chicken dish. Plus they have a daily special during happy hour from 5pm to close.

I’ve been coming to this place since it opened and it never steers me wrong. Restaurant: As soon as you walk in you’ll get greeted and seated within minutes. The small /cozy place fits well with the Thai style ambience. Food: I always start off my meals with some hot sake which is fairly priced. Then I order the«Tom Kha» soup with chicken(level 8 spicy) which is served on a hot bowl over a flame. For the main dish I order the Yellow Curry with Chicken level 8 spice as well. Everything down to the softness of the potatoes is immaculate ! Maybe the only advice I can give to the restaurant owners is please give us enough rice to finish our large portions of meals.

I came during lunch, so got a lunch plate. Pick one main dish and it comes with a cup of soup, an eggroll and a salad. And a scoop of rice, if it’s not a noodle dish you get. The star rating system is a bit like Spinal Tap’s amazing amplifie… it has a 10 star scale! I’ve only ever seen 3 or 5 star, which both make sense. As I couldn’t conjure up my 4th grade math skills quickly enough, I ordered a 5⁄10 stars since I always get 2⁄5 stars, I figured it would be close. It was too hot for my sheltered taste buds. More akin to a 4⁄5 star that I’ve had the misfortune of ordering, so I could taste nothing beyond the first two bites and had to order some rice in hopes of clearing the palate of heat… when I realized I was not enjoying the rice/hot noodle combo, I just gave up and instead looked forward to the dessert afterward somewhere else soon to fill my tummy. Soup: flavorless overcooked vegetables in a clear broth. Why not thai it up? some galangal, lime leaf… something. Salad: fresh and crisp with nice light dressing eggroll: only the crisp shell and sweet dipping sauce was good. The sparse filling is like nothing… maybe cabbage. boring. As a note, my husband loved his plate and wanted to go back. I think it was the price to stuff ration for him.

Another Thai Thurs. rolled around and my friend picked Street Side. The food was actually quite good and they give you up to two free apps on weeknights. We had a party of five and everyone was having a drink, so we got two free apps. However, no one told us about this when we ordered our first app. We then saw the sign on our table and inquired about the second app. Our waiter was like, yea, okay, what do you want. He was not friendly at all… The chicken sauté was good but a tad overcooked. I split two noodle dishes and the pad thai was the winner. It was one of the best pad thai dishes I’ve had(and I’ve tried it at 20+ places in San Diego). Overall the food was good, but the service lacked… I wouldn’t rush back, but I wouldn’t be against it either.

Placed an order via Unilocal/Eat24 for pickup/takeout last night. Ordered the Fab Rolls with Shrimp, Tom Yum with Mixed Seafood, Green Papaya Salad, Green Curry with Mixed Seafood, Peanut Curry Combination(chicken, pork, beef, shrimp, squid), Pumpkin Curry with Chicken, and Red Curry with Mock Meat. The Fab Rolls were quite good although the peanut sauce was… average. The other sauce was supposedly a honey-mustard sauce. Someone in our group said it tasted like cheap salad dressing. The Tom Yum with Mixed Seafood was, I thought, very good. We ordered it thinking that it was a coconut-based broth, but it was lemongrass-based, so that person was disappointed. Otherwise, good flavors though very light on mixed seafood especially for a large(one mussel, one shrimp, one piece of calamari). The Som Tam(Green Papaya Salad) was quite flavorful, predominantly fish sauce followed by a balanced spiciness, although light on shrimp(2). The curries were all very good with plenty of veggies and non/meat though light on flavor and thickness. The accompanying brown rice gets an up-charge which, given the cost of all the other dishes, should in my opinion be removed. Overall we expected much more in terms of flavor and maybe curries that weren’t so thin. The strength of typical Thai flavors – fish sauce, lime leaf, lemongrass, galanga, coconut, chili, roasted peanut, Thai basil – were very light and subtle. With all the Thai restaurants to choose from, we’ll probably pass on a second visit. P. S. — Watch the hours posted on Unilocal.Street Side is closed from 3−5pm.

This is probably the best Thai food in north park. I love the pumpkin curry with salmon, and usually always order that. However, the pad Thai and everything else is delicious :) They do deliver, which is an awesome bonus!

When I have the need for some spicy Tom Yum soup … this place is just across the street. Have been in there a couple times a year for the past 5 yrs… They have great service, patio dinning(dog friendly), and so far almost everything I have eaten is just a cleaner version of something I might have gotten in Bangkok… with less day after blowout. TIPS: Spicy 8 is really spicy 8. Bucket of beer is cheaper than ala carte Park and walk in. It is not too expensive.

I enjoy this place big time. I usually order take out, but I have eaten at the restaurant. The restaurant itself is a little under average size, and pretty normal interior wise for a Thai place. I like their beef salad, among other things I really enjoy. Lately I’ve been amazed by all the Thai San Diego has to offer. So much good Thai makes it tougher to pick from. This place shouldn’t let you down, I think it’s a worthy Thai spot and relatively easy to get to off the 805 and university. So if you’re driving bye, I suggest you give it a try, or if you live near bye do what I do and get it dropped on your doorstep with delivery :) Happy eating!

Small and dimly lit. Street parking. Nice servers. Quick service Ordered: –Panang curry: very flavorful and a good amount of chicken –Pad kee mao: I think it was called something different here(spicy noodles?), but it’s the same thing. Noodles were cooked well and the spiciness was good. Tip: the spice level here is serious. If you say spicy it will be spicy.

Really loved this place and what Thai do they have! Came down here for the first time in many years and popped in here for lunch with my son and a friend. Very quiet and nice. Got served right away, the waitress was so sweet. Traditional food and setting. Huge amount of food for lunch. Comes with sour soup, so tasty and salad(wasn’t a fan of the dressing) but the curries were so creamy and full of flavor. The yellow curry with chicken and potato and onion was so good, you want to drink the curry sauce or drown your rice in it. The green curry with eggplant was a tad spicier(not really for me) but in general more of a kick. The eggplant soaks up the curry as well as the white sticky rice. Exactly how is should! My son got chicken skewers, I think an order came with 3 which was plenty. Their peanut sauce that comes with it is also to die for. Very peanut-y and yummy, you’ll want to slather it on everything left on your plate or take it home to put on the rice you made just because you have this incredible sauce! A must try.
