The tacos my husband and I ordered were fresh and delicious! The cilantro lime rice was so good we wished we had more of it. The bartender and wait staff were very nice but service was slow and there were only 2 other couples dining at the time. They had a good deal on their restaurant week menu but we opted for the $ 15 tres tacos and that was more than enough food and you chose which kind of tacos you want. Would eat here again but it is a bit pricey. Going to try the mini Starbucks Café they have.

We came for Thanks giving. Service was very pure, our server was not experienced, she was nice thou. Food was very nice, we enjoy it, but just customer service wasn’t good, compliment to the chef!

Stish is in the Hilton Mission Valley hotel lobby. We were staying here on vacation and ate here the night we arrived from our long drive from the bay area. I’m shocked! We had a good meal at a hotel restaurant! Generous portions. Kids meals were simplified adult meals — homemade mac and cheese, quesadilla in sundried tomato tortilla with great cheese. Hubby and I enjoyed HUGE salads which were fresh and delicious. Real chicken, not rubbery. Our ten-year-old loved the choose-your-own ingredient pasta, and the server discreetly confirmed whether she wanted parmesan and basil on top, «because some time kids don’t like that». Very conscientious. Service was good, restaurant was separate from the bar area so it was quiet. A little pricey but that is to be expected at a hotel restaurant. The portions were so generous that we unknowingly over-ordered. Glad we were too tired to drive over the freeway to Hooters.

Boooooo! Stish, what is a Stish??? Stinky+Fish=Stish The bar blows, I not sure if it blows because this is a hangout for lonely traveling business guys or if it always sucks. The bartender was not great and I think any woman with in 20 miles of this place would’ve run. I tried the the goose head beer and after one pull I could tell this«craft beer» have big label brewers all over it. Sure enough, it is a «craft brewer» owned by Budweiser… go figure. Support local beer go Gordon Biersch when in SD! Food blows too, had the breakfast buffet. Sometimes they should just offer up cereal if the eggs, bacon and potatoes are going to be hog feed. I don’t do one stars lightly, you have to earn mine. Hope they can earn an upgrade someday…

I was staying at the Hilton Mission Valley. Being a gold member, I got a voucher for a free appetizer and free breakfast. For the appetizer, I ordered a flatbread pizza. It wasn’t bad at all. I also ordered a shot glass of crème brûlée. The restaurant was about ¼ full with only one server waiting on everybody so service was very slow. But I blame this on management for the scheduling issue. Their breakfast buffet is not so great. The selection was very small and what you expect to see at a cheap Vegas breakfast buffet. I only got one plate and I was done with breakfast. Thankfully, I packed a breakfast bar from home to tie me over until lunch.

I stay at a number of Hilton’s and really are we at the point where the best you have is powdered eggs. Disgusting! The rooms are like most other hotels but service and food are about the only ways a hotel can set themselves apart when they area a chain. That breakfast was marginal at best. Mushy fruit to go with it. The gaslamp Hilton is much better and of course usually much more expensive. If I stay here again I will leave and go eat breakfast elsewhere. It doesn’t have to be perfect but powdered eggs, Seriously.

We called Stish 2 days before Thanks giving and made our reservation, they told us the menu and we liked it and we suppose to get champagne with our dinner. We came, we were alone there. Our server didn’t know anything about the menu, also almost anything about serving. Every corse we had to ask for silverware and for refills. Our dinner didn’t come with promise champagne. Meal was good, I asked for cranberry sauce with our turkey and the server told us, that she thinks they don’t do cranberry sauce even with out asking her chef. So we really didn’t have good experience at all, but I guess managers didn’t care, he was just at his office on the computer what I saw when I went to the bathroom. I always leave good comments at Unilocal, but I can’t this time, since we can’t recommend this place! They have a lot off work to do to provide good service, in this economy this place I don’t think will not be here for much longer, but I hope the GM of the hotel hire better stuff for the restaurant!

We ended up at the Hilton thanks to a Groupon hotel deal. We weren’t planning on camping out in the restaurant/bar for the night, but it turned out to be a good atmosphere(and my sister and her husband brought their little ones and we needed space for them to run around without annoying anyone). If you want to catch a game, eat some good food, and have some good drinks, this place is just fine. Nothing amazing. I mean, it’s in a Hilton. But, it was better than I expected. –We started with the nachos. I was hoping for something a little fancier than chips and cheese. Maybe some beans? But no. I could have made these at home. But, after a couple beers, I was just happy to have some greasy goodness in my belly. –Speaking of beers, they have a pretty standard selection. They offered one«local» beer — Karl Strauss Red Trolley. –The entrees were way better than we thought they would be. We all agreed. I got the salmon and it was actually pretty delicious. It came with some blah veggies and a baked potato(loaded with sour cream and cheese) that I could have microwaved at home. The salmon saved it. It tasted better than I can make at home, and that’s all I ask for from a restaurant. The service was really slow. It seemed like we had 3 separate waitresses. And they messed up our bill(we were supposed to get a couple complimentary drinks and appetizers and they didn’t take that off, something I didn’t realize until the next day, when I was sober and clear-headed. Grr). Overall though, it was just fine.

The menu is wonderful, but the food doesn’t quite match up. The tomato and basil soup; however, was EXCELLENT. I don’t even like tomato soup, but this was surprisingly delicious. The steak and the Baja chicken sandwich were a disappointment, as well as the service. The service was slow, although the restaurant was not busy. My boyfriend and I requested butter on our baked potatoes, but they were served to us dry. Because the waitress did not check on us, I had to go find her. She bought out a cup of cold butter balls that did not melt on our now cold potatoes. I would not return to this restaurant.

I loved this place for their happy hour. They had some good looking happy hour food, but I didn’t have it. What really put me over the top was the offerings of a few local beers on tap, and it lasted until 7:00. Even better was they put their pint glasses in some kind of freezer because they were icy all over and on the bottom. Everybody appreciates an ice cold beer, and this was all that and a bag of chips. Speaking of chips, they didn’t have that to munch on, but they did have a pub mix of some kind with toffee covered nuts and little crackers that were sweet and spicy. I can’t wait to come back!

Menu is updated. More choices, but it’s still what you would expect from hotel food. Nothing memorable. Service was fine, now only if the front desk could take a cue from the wait staff…

This is a pretty good spot — especially if you are staying at the Hilton, since its attached. I’ve stayed at the Hilton numerous nights and I can honestly say that Stich doesn’t get boring. The staff, for the most part, are great! The food is also great… I would recommend the calamari — its some of the best I’ve had — but fair warning — it should be eaten in moderation! I haven’t had a bad thing on the menu and it’s always nice to save room for dessert. They also serve breakfast as part of the hotel. It’s a good breakfast, but can get a bit boring after a week. The breakfast staff is very attentive and the weekend breakfast buffet includes am omelet and waffle station that are a nice chance of pace from the normal week buffet.

Stish isn’t a bad spot, just one of those«eh whatever» spots. Food isn’t memorable, but still good. I personally like their Pasta that comes with sundried tomatoes and broccoli. I think it’s really hard to go wrong with anything that has sundried tomatoes… maybe that’s why? No… Stish does do a good job in making this pasta. It’s kind of plain with a lemon light sauce. But, it’s pretty good. Their Hamburgers are HUUGEE! So, if you’re looking for something filling, check that out. The HOTWINGS are a pretty good option as an appettizer. Good in size and taste. You get about 11 wings or so. I would NOT recommend their Scallop appetizer. They give you like 3 scallops and it comes with this funky BBQ tasting sauce. Their breakfast isn’t great, but decent. Their buffet serves eggs, sausage, bacon, tons of different types of bread(toast, bagels, etc), fruits, breakfast potatoes, oatmeal, and yogurt. Service is okay. Although, this one female server is super friendly and is smiling all the time.

was only at the bar for Happy Hour, but ended up to be 5 happy hours. Was meeting an old friend there for drinks and was supposed to be just a starting place, but we ended up just staying there. Drinks were yummy — Mango Bella was addicting, as was their Pom-Tini. Happy Hour appetizers were so-so, typical bar food, but presentation was nice. the one bartender guy we dealt with was very outgoing, and helpful. We asked him for a more«happening» place to go to and he gave us names of other bars that we might enjoy… we ended up not going anywhere else, but he was nice enough to share the info. Good central location, and good for meeting people coming in from all parts of San Diego Couny, however, since this place is at a hotel, you have to pay for parking or find street parking-which is minimal.

Totally hit and miss. Stish has what I consider to be the best cocktail in San Diego — The Ten Thyme Smash. It’s insanely good. The food is small, expensive, and not very memorable. The Bloody Mary is made from the cheapest mix available and not much more. Their featured cocktails such as the TTS are well worth checking out. Don’t stray too far from those, and you’ll have a great time.

We ate here when the restaurant that we wanted to go was filled to capacity. I thought to myself«a restaurant at the Hilton can’t be bad.» I was wrong. The restaurant had a romantic atmosphere with dim lighting and a candle on the table with some floral decorations. We were one of three couples there so the service wasn’t a factor. But I really expected better food. We started with the fried calamari which was served in what looked like a miniature deep frying basket. Kind of cute but it was really salty. I took a bite from two pieces and my tongue felt numb from all the salt. Then comes the fillet Mignon with the steamed vegetables. I ordered medium rare but got rare. I can deal with rare but the meat felt and tasted like it was aged in a freezer. I couldn’t bring myself to finish it. Overall, I really expected more from a Hilton restaurant. I had better food for much less. They charged the Hilton price without the Hilton quality. Next time I’ll look before I eat.

Stish is the little restaurant in the Mission Valley Hilton. I would’ve never known about it if it weren’t for a couple of friends who bartend here. We once went for Happy Hour after work here during the summer and stayed until 9PM. THAT was one HAPPY hour. I can’t remember if we ate any appetizers but I KNOW we had multiple martinis that night. The restaurant is nice, clean, and you get to meet all sorts of out-of-towners at the bartop that you can have conversations with about how San Diego is better than wherever the crap they’re from.
