I stopped in this particular Starbucks because I was in the area and needed some time to kill before my next adventure. I ordered a grande caffe misto with 2% milk. The misto coffee was right on and it certainly helped pass the time away. It had that familiar robust flavor and smoothness brought on by the hot milk. I took the liberty to complete some work while I was there and their Wi-Fi worked just fine. The employees were nice and quite expedient with their service. This location offers a good amount of seating inside and outside.

This review is only based on 1 employee. There is a woman who works here that runs her mouth at full speed on anything & everything non-Starbucks related. In doing so she ignores customers, slow to make drinks & get the drinks wrong because she’s not listing to customers while running her mouth. If I see her behind the counter I will actually drive to a different location.

Never a long line, quick service, and friendly staff! Can’t go a day without my Starbucks coffee!

Compared to other Starbucks locations in San Diego, this store is usually not crowded. There is plenty of seating. It’s a great place to study because it’s normally easy to find an open table near an outlet. Parking is easy. Free wifi. Both indoor and outdoor seating. It’s next to a Boston-themed sandwich shop in case you need to take a break from your study session and get more substantial food. Otherwise, it’s a pretty typical Starbucks. Nothing too noteworthy.

This Starbucks is always changing the interior and it is nice at times but if you’re looking for familiarity then don’t count on it. That being said it’s still a Starbucks and you will find all the green and caffiene your heart desires. I like working here because it is not over-crowded like other starbucks and there are lots of options nearby that you can grab food if you are sititng in for the long haul, I know you bloggers/book writers love sititng in Starbucks. I’m a fan because the customer service is consistently on par and the location is near the 52. Check this Starbucks out for a place to work/meet/read/blog and then yes get coffee. TIP: You can also sit outdoors as there are lots of options, I say this because the seating is in an L shape where you can find a bit more privacy and quiet on the parking side of the store.

Personally I think the new red cups are alright and pretty good looking. No complaints there, I think there are bigger issues in the world to get angry about. Clean environment, good coffee, but over priced.

I went here yesterday to buy my teen daughter a drink. The cashier Andy told me it was a hot coffee drink so I called her to get the right order-Large Iced caramel macchiato with caramel walls. Andy told me the drink had 3 shots of expresso. OK. Andy then added with raised eyebrows and condescending tone that he «can’t even drink more than one cup of expresso». OK. I appreciate the info regarding the ingredients of the drink but NOT the condescending tone and raised eyebrows. If his concern was me buying this drink with«3 shots of expresso» for my teen, he should save his judgement call. Teens range in age from 13 – 19. I grew up in UC and was very excited to visit this StarBucks while on vacation. This poor customer service encounter with Andy would definitely make it worth the extra drive to the Starbucks Clairemont Location.

I love my morning coffee before I head into work, it’s a must. I was just any regular person waiting in line, waiting for the barista to take my order. There were at least 2 people in front of me. Pretty slow morning right?! Well, the lady who took my order was definitely rushing me. And there was no need to rush. I was the last person in line! So I ordered a skinny vanilla latte. The girl looks up and down at me, and rolls her eyes as she walks away. Rude! I brushed it off, then waited for my drink. When it came out, it was wrong! It was a regular vanilla bean frap. Like, how to you get that mixed up?! Ugh.

I probably spend way too much money at Starbucks, but this one is honestly hit or miss. The cleanliness of the store seems to lack the others I go to in LJ and Birdrock. Order time is really dependent on which team is working. Good place to stop for a coffee, just expect a wait at times. I did notice that they post the local garage sales during the weekends which is kind of cool for the locals.

Ever since the new manager service has not been up to par. I was so disgusted that I gave them back the product I bought and walked out without a refund. That’s how someone’s behavior at work can affect the customer. I won’t be back.

Stopped in on a Monday night to get my coffee fix and some school work done. As an frequent coffee drinker, you can never go wrong with Starbucks. I prefer the less«corporatey» coffee shops, but Starbucks is always convenient and gets the job done. I was feeling a little bold, so I wanted to try one of their new seasonal drinks. I asked the barista how the tiramisu latte was and he asked me if I liked my coffee sweet. I told him I didn’t like mine overly sweet(as some of their drinks tend to be, yuck) and said that it would be perfect for me. He also mentioned that if I didn’t like the drink, they could always make me something else instead which I thought was a very nice gesture. Located in University City, you get a much older crowd, not your typical college student ridden Starbucks. The baristas were very friendly and knew just about every person that walked in on first name basis, super cute. Towards the end of the night, one of the baristas walked around and gave each person a pastry of their choice! I’m sure they had to throw them away for inventory purposes, but it was just the principle of it. These guys truly care about their customers. Overall, you get your standard pricey coffee at this location plus great service!

Coffee always taste burnt, cappuccinos taste water down, and I get sweated on when I come in w my dog on a 90 degree weather day. This is why I am willing to drive to balboa or Hillcrest for a Starbucks even though I live right down the street from here… BUT whoever that girl was at the cashier who quickly offered to bring my coffee out when it was ready is amazing!!!

My most favorite Starbucks in the area. Considering the location, it does really well. It’s one of the larger Starbucks in the area — so more seating than typical. It’s also a more older crowd 30’s and up — quite a change from the student dominated Statbucks in the ‘other’ Starbucks. Baristas are super friendly and work together well — I’ve seen the line outside the places few times and they struggle through the chaos pretty well. I mean, I’d pop a gasket. I’m grumpy when I don’t get my coffee fix. So stop ordering the Carmel latte umpachino with 60% Yak milk when you see the line behind you.

I really do have to agree with many of the previous posts at the level of service this particular Starbucks provides. The staff is always so cheerful and upbeat that it’s hard to feel gloomy when you step foot into the store. They’re also on a first name basis with almost EVERYONE who comes in, and I feel left out all the time. Ok ok, slight exaggeration by saying they know everyone’s name… but there’s definitely more of small town/community/local feel to this place instead of the typical corporation atmosphere. As far as drinks go, I’ve had several, ranging from mocha frapps to iced lattes and hot chocolate. Perfection every time at all time of the day. I think that pretty much says it all.

Only a few more times in the morning for me at this Starbucks. Moving to Tierrasanta the 23rd. Been coming here for a year and will miss listening to the people here in the morning. I hope the other one will be just as good with service and everything

This Starbucks has the best service of any of the ones in San Diego that I have visited. They staff were friendly, seemed to know the regular customers and their orders, and were very personable. When I order, I usually ask for a coffee with 2 fingers of room, or the width of 2 fingers below the top of the cup. While most of the other coffee shops I visit don’t have a hard time with that, most Starbucks can’t seem to get it right. This staff got it perfectly, on a busy day, with a line forming, and a small staff. Color me happy and impressed. I’m not the biggest fan of Starbucks coffee. If they weren’t so abundant, and convenient for a quick trip, I’d have no real reason to visit them. This one I stopped in on the way to help friends move, and I will happily come back.

I ordered 60 cups of coffee to go and this Starbucks got it right! Hurray for the staff! I chose this Starbucks because it’s close to a brunch that I was invited to. I had volunteered to bring the coffee. The Starbucks staff gave me good advice about my options. I chose to order 5 to-go containers which hold twelve 8-ounce cups of coffee per container. I ordered the coffee in advance and chose to pay in advance, and it was all ready when I came to pick it up, along with the cream, cups, and sugar. They got the order exactly right: 2 containers of decaf and 3 containers of regular Sumatra coffee. I chose 5 smaller containers instead of 1 larger container because the smaller containers have insulation which keeps the coffee hotter longer. Also I wanted both regular and decaf. Indeed, the coffee stayed hot for 2 hours until it was gone! It tasted fresh and just the right strength. When I picked up the coffee there wasn’t any confusion, and a staff member helped me to load it in my car. I can highly recommend this Starbucks on Governor drive!

If you like slow, loud senior citizens then this is the Starbucks for you! The regulars(seniors) have taken over the place & hang out here for hours. they’re harmless though. :) However the staff is nice, quick and on top of things. And it’s about a block from my house… So I will keep coming here.
