Wife and I had a pleasant visit getting a couple of drinks while shopping at Ralph’s… Will be back with the convenience located here!

This really shouldn’t qualify as a rated business since it’s just basically a Starbucks-brand kiosk-looking situation that bogs down the entrance to Ralph’s. What’s strange is it doesn’t fit with the vibe of this Ralph’s, which is more of a «pocket Ralph’s.» People tend to run in and run out of here, and I can’t imagine anyone strolling through the doors and deciding they just simply cannot make it through their shopping without a handful of caffeine by straw. For Ralph’s, I suppose it is a nice«amenity» to offer faux coffee in the store, and for Starbucks, it is basically like having billboard advertising for the two or three people who drove by the other full-service locations within an egg’s throw of this store and didn’t notice them. For me though, this little coffee stand is like the restroom attendant trying to throw soap at my hands. I can handle it myself, and I’ll find another restroom.

The guy was super nice hahah. I think he was new because he was kind of nervous but it was okay haha. I loved how they called me by my name after they wrote it down. it made me feel like they knew me; I loved it.

Coffee Recon is Fair and Balanced especially when it comes to Coffee! So when Meghan asked me to include this stores location on my website I said yes This might be the only Starbucks I give any kudos to so far… for the same reasons I mentioned about Ralph’s Deli … they truly greet you; and while still in the growing pains here they work on getting it right. Not like many others that I have visited. Howard Schultz should visit here it would add a new dimension to customer service.

Yes, I know that Ralph’s grocery stores usually have Coffee Bean & Tea Leafs inside as their coffee shops. But the brand new Ralph’s that just opened in the old Von’s building on Rosecrans and Nimitz has a Starbucks! And it is right inside the front door. How convenient! Despite the fact that there is a full-service drive-thru Starbucks three blocks down at Ingelow St., this is very good news. For the opening day special, Starbucks was selling their delicious coffee for .99 cents per cup! Looks like some very nice people work there although they did seem some wthat overwhelmed from all the crowds packing the Ralph’s grand opening. Despite the positive development of another local Pt. Loma Starbucks, my son and I were both looking for a little sit down area or alcove with seats to relax and enjoy our coffee this morning. Unfortunately, space is so tight at this smaller retail location, that the manager told me they would have to «look into» adding a sitting area. Deducted 1 UnilocalSTAR because some of us like to chill while we sip our lattes and bold coffee!
