I like this place. You won’t really find the average cheapo items for cheapo prices. You’ll find cheapo items for very high prices. Most days there is a 50% or 75% off sale on items over $ 1. Here’s where you get to use all that snazzy math you learned in school and you’ll fall for it Hook, Line and Sinker. Some days it’s 50% off furniture and 75% off everything else. Some days it’s 75% off furnishings and 50% off all else. It all depends… Either way the prices are jacked so you feel like you are getting a great deal when the sticker shock is suddenly slashed in half or more. I look for specific items here. Children’s Books, some clothing items, art, a few knick-knacks, vintage pottery and furnishings. My best finds here have always been postcards, a vintage Alison Krauss Fridge Magnet and an INSANELY modern gigantic lime green lamp with black oval shade and an incredible stopper on top to match all for $ 70… One of my favorite finds. So yes it was $ 140 originally which I wouldn’t consider but $ 70 for lamp AND the shade AND all for a good cause??? I folded… Like I told ya’ Hook, Line and Sinker. There is a back room with more stock piled furnishings books and some incredible sheet music(at the time). If you are buying a large amount of something the staff there will try to work with you to cut a deal. Park a few blocks down and there is free street parking, no need to feed the meter. Check it out if you’re in the area, wouldn’t suggest it as a go-to destination but a definite stop in the downtown thrift zone. «My Sister’s Closet» used to be across the street which made stopping at St. Paul’s a no brainer. I still have to come here if I’m in the area. After that lamp score I’ll always hold a candle for this place! Expect to be put off at first with the price but keep an open mind, you might find something you love at a price you’ll be happy with.

The most absurdly over priced thrift store I’ve ever seen in my life! They had a non-stick skillet for 92 dollars that retails new on amazon for 30 bucks! A wooden rolling pin was marked at 32 dollars. Nice stuff but laughable prices.

A cute little neighborhood charity shop staffed by friendly people. The marked prices are a little high, but here’s the thing — they nearly always take 50% off all items over $ 1. So the prices are actually very good. Here you’ll find jewelry, watches, housewares, houseplants, dishes, silverware, men and women’s clothes, books, videos/DVDs, and a smattering of lamps, furniture and other large household items. Recently I spotted skirts made by Valentino and Neiman Marcus here! Hurrah. Unfortunately they were too small for my non-vintage-sized ass, but still — good finds. Also, I love their little spider plants, which(given the constant 50% discount) run $ 2-$ 3. The only negative is this shop’s restrictive hours. They close at 4 Mon-Sat and are closed entirely on Sunday.
