Great pizza, friendly service. It’s the fresh ingredients that make the pizza so good. Unfortunately they were out of Mango tart — will be going back for some soon.

Had a wonderful family dinner at this delicious eatery tonight! Highlights: crispy, light thin crust pizza(dough is hand made each morning) margarita pizza was the best I’ve ever eaten in San Diego! Kids had a traditional cheese that they loved too. Caesar salad and homemade soup were fresh and flavorful(not too salty either). Finished off with amazing homemade mango tart — unbelievable food. Organic, farm to table. Brought our own wine and were pleasantly surprised — no corkage fee! They don’t sell alcohol so bring your own. Reasonably priced and excellent service. Owner brought our kids extra homemade desserts to sample. Truly a 5 star experience. We will be returning often.

The staff is rude and entitled… I tried to get them to cater an event but was blown off multiple times until I eventually gave up and went elsewhere. Never going back!

Hidden gem in the neighborhood. Delicious, homemade taste, everyone always friendly and the pizzas are amazing — honestly the crust alone is awesome. This is our new ‘go to’ spot for pizza but their spaghetti & meatballs and desserts are also great!

My wife and I had the chicken parm and meatball subs. Both were ok, but nothing to write home about. If I hadn’t seen them come out of the wood-fired oven I would have assumed they were microwaved. They felt warmed over and there just wasn’t much flavor. They service was also incredibly slow — inexcusable as we were the only two in the restaurant. But I will say the waitress was extremely friendly and helpful. If we go back maybe we’ll try the pizza. They must be doing something well to get such good reviews.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The décor was modern and clean. I recommend the beet salad with micro greens and turmeric dressing. The asparagus and tomato quiche was heavenly. Pizza was exceptional because of the crispy crust and excellent mozzarella. This high quality food made me feel energetic and clear despite the fact I ate too much! I am ordering a mango tart for Thanksgiving. I will return with my husband and recommend to friends.

This was a decent little restaurant for being so new. I had the calzone with meatballs and it was very delicious and hearty. The service was pretty attentive as well. The food did take a while I will have to say but it was worth it. The atmosphere was really nice.

I have some serious reservations about adding this review because it might compromise my ability to get some seriously yummy eats when the rest of you common herd come barreling into invade my dining nirvana. We had a Pizza, so delicious! The lasagna was plate licking good, vary tangy sauce! And the chocolate chip cookie was fabulous. It had some orange in it which sounds odd but it was tasty! They have some beautiful desserts and the place is nicely decorated, it has a very exotic flair. And, I have to say its very refreshing to have some nice music and no big screen TV’s. it seems like people are afraid to dine out without a television.

This place has been open for a month and I was so excited to check it out! The food did not disappoint! We ordered a 16 inch pie, half plain cheese and half grilled chicken and pesto. Both were very good! I think I liked the chicken a little more. The crust is really good too! The service here is great. They are friendly and helpful. When there weren’t chairs at our table, someone helped us bring chairs over. For the most part, the atmosphere is very relaxed. ASLONGASTHEREARENOKIDS! We must have been there during a birthday party or the end of a youth soccer tournament or something. There was a large table of kids finishing dinner and they were so loud! One of the owners(I think he was an owner) dropped off our pizza and apologized for the noise. He apologized again as we were leaving. I know it wasn’t his fault. The noise and the uncomfortable chairs is why I didn’t give this place 5 stars. I would definitely go back for the food. Maybe next time we will sit outside on the comfy looking patio chairs instead of the hard metal ones inside. Or just take the food to go. The dessert case looked really yummy too so that is a definite try for next time!

Delish! So far I’ve had the tomato-asparagus soup and mushroom-broccoli quiche. Very happy this place was transformed and added to the strip mall here. Very fresh made and delicious! Can’t wait to try desserts! Friendly & welcoming staff! Just added an espresso machine yay! Great place to stop after Yoga at Womens Elite :) Sayonara Panera Bread!

This was our first time visiting Savory Kitchen. The local family run restaurant can be summed up in one word, FANTASTIC! We opted for a light lunch and split the Savory Caprece Salad & the Savory Ceasar Salad. Both were so fresh & of the highest quality, simply delicious. We absolutely could not resist dessert and ordered their Mango Tart, pure heaven! The ambiance and décor are very inviting. We will definitely be back soon for dinner to try their Savory Specialty Pizzas. We would highly recommend dining here!

Service was fast and nice. My brother got the meatball sub and said the sauce was good – but not enough. The bread was good and fresh, however the portion size was small and there was no sides to go with the dish. I got the classic cheese pizza. It was 16 inches and was descent. The bread of the pizza tasted a bit different, but I believe it was because of the way it was cooked. Overall, the food was good, but the prices were too high.

We are very excited to welcome Savory Kitchen to the neighborhood! There really aren’t any other italian places like it nearby, so it’s a nice change from our usual dining spots in the Del Mar Highlands plaza. The location is a bit off the beaten path, in fact we’ve lived down the street for nearly a year and I just recently realized that this plaza was here. It’s just outside of the Pacific Highlands Ranch neighborhood on Carmel Valley Road. I will have to edit my review once we dine in, as we got take out for our first Savory Kitchen experience. Thanks to another Unilocaler we were able to see the menu from a photo that they posted. As far as the good goes, we got the Meatball Sub which was really good! The bread was great and was soft but not soggy, the cheese was good and meatballs were great. It could have used a smidge more red sauce. My husband got the mushroom and cream sauce pasta which he liked. Overall I was happy with Savory Kitchen and would return!

Got an array of caprese salad, lasagna, and pizza. Great taste and presentation. Home feel and personalized attention. Caprese salad had balsamic little balls for impressive presentation. Crispy thin crusted pizza with good flavor.

I’ve seen the signs for Savory Kitchen up for some time now. We weren’t really sure what this little restaurant was all about. The previous restaurant(Uncle Vinnie’s) had declined over the years and it was hard to see this location struggle. I was in the area running errands for cousin bride the other weekend and decided to stop in at Savory Kitchen to take a peek. Savory Kitchen looks nothing like Uncle Vinnies. The entire restaurant has been remodeled and they now have a front patio with a firepit. I’ve been there several times now and have tried the following: CALZONE : — Do you see the bountiful amount of ooey mozzarella, creamy ricotta, and meatball in this wonderfully baked calzone(see pic). Do you see all those items oooozing out of the calzoney belly. It was delicious MEATBALLSANDWICH $ 9.50: — This was a delicious hot sub sandwich. The toasted bread tasted heavenly with the hot meatballs, marinara sauce, and melted cheese. It was a juicy sub which sounds oddly weird but yummy. SAVORYCAESARSALAD $ 9.50: — The caesar dressing looks darker as you can see and the taste was richly ‘CAESAR’. I could taste anchovy, garlic, perhaps balsamic. Was there an egg used in there as well? It was one of the best caesar dressings I’ve had in a very long time. MANGOPIE $ 30: — People reading this. Stop the presses. The ORIGINAL woman that made the infamous mango pie from Pasta Pronto now works here at Savory Kitchen. I was floored when I saw the mango pie int eh display case. The mangos are almost indescribably ripen sweet. I have never had mango slices so sweet. I do not believe there’s any sugar added to the mangos. The white cream isn’t whipped cream but almost tastes like a soft lightly sweetened whipped mascarpone cheese. CHEESEPIZZA: — Simple yet good especially hot out of the oven CAESARSALAD $ 9.50WITHMEATBALL(+3.00): — Amika and Mase were laughing that they’ve never had anyone order a Meatball Caesar salad before. You can add chicken to the caesar for $ 3 but they let me add a meatball instead. The romaine lettuce tasted fresh and the caesar dressing & parmigiano reggianno shavings were great. BREADROLL(complimentary with salad): — Amika brought out some of their marinara sauce for me to try with the rolls. The rolls tasted alright but I secretly fantasized Savory Kitchen drowning each roll in a bath of melted butter, tons of garlic, and parsley. It could be the roll’s Drakkar Noir. MANGOTARTLET $ 5.00: Freaking amazing. It’s the smaller baby version of the whole mango pie. Tastes so fresh & ripen sweet. Perfection. I think it’s apparent I’m a fan of this new restaurant. This family run establishment really has a heartwarming feel that can only happen when you love food and care about your customers. Savory Kitchen also has daily specials(I saw Chicken Parm sandwich for $ 6.95 one day and Quiche + soup/salad for $ 10.95 another day). So call them ahead of time if you want to inquire about their specials. Oh, also the mango pies need 24 hour advance notice if you want one! Note: they are open 11a-9p but closed on Sundays

Lovely little new place in the neighborhood. No TV(Yeah!), no overly salted food(Yeah!), no pork(Works for us), and light, tasty food. We tried a white veggie pizza, a meatball calzone(with a tasty marina sauce). For dessert, we split a pear-almond tart and a mango tart. Super friendly staff that are eager to hear feedback. They just opened up, so are still setting up a web site, so I posted a pic of today’s menu for reference. Looking forward to returning to try other items on the menu.
