Whats not to love about his place, $ 1.50 for double meat and 50cents for double noodles! roughly $ 10 for 2 people! down

Love love love this place. I’ve been to other locations but they’re just not as good as this one! HUGE portions at an affordable price. Plus they cook your food right in front of you. I would eat here everyday if I could.

They will fill a plate of plane noodles versus rice and the shrimp is so small you would think it was a noodle. They don’t speak English because they are Mexican and when you ask a question they say they don’t know what the picture of the food is… Need I say more?

Food mall is not the best there is but this place is possibly the worst of them all. My wife & I ordered steak & shrimp combo for $ 8.50 each with no drinks. The food had no taste. The serving was so small. Don’t waste your money.

Hands down the best chicken teriyaki I’ve EVER had. Super fast service, and so much food. The employees are nice, eat here 1−2x a week.

If I could give this review more than 5 stars, I so would! Like I can’t believe I’m still eating Panda Express. So much better and their teriyaki chicken is by far the best! Definitely worth the drive to come eat some yummy Japanese food: D

This place is another one of my hidden Vegan friendly places to go. Hands down you can split it into two meals depending on how friendly the cook is with the portions. It is inside most San Diego malls… great place to have lunch or dinner with friends when you want variety of options and standard prices. I’ll be there tomorrow. Cheers

I’m a fan of the tender chicken they serve. Go try out a sample as they always offer those throughout the day. However, I would consider this asian place a little stingy with the serving of chicken. Ended up with 20% chicken, and 80% rice. Always a tip to pay a dollar more for an extra stingy portion of chicken. Still the best food court food I would say. I am going to research their recipe to make it at home.

Oh Mission Valley location, you totally made me wish I stopped at the La Jolla location instead. Hubbs and me ordered the usual, which in our case was the double chicken on noodles. Now, I don’t know if the UTC location has spoiled me on flavor… But this location’s dish was mortifingly BORING. The chicken was the only good thing on the plate. The noodles and the veggies were super bland. I gave them three stars, because the chicken was good and the cashier was very personable and had a great attitude with a smile to boot. I used to come here before all the time, when I lived in North Park, I don’t know wha’s happened to the quality of the food.

As far as food court restaurants go, Sarku is among the best. I’ve visited multiple Sarku locations throughout the years and I love their chicken teriyaki! I’ve never tried anything else on the menu but I can vouch for the quality and quantity of the chicken teriyaki meal. I always order the chicken teriyaki with double meat and no veggies and it’s plenty for two meals if I’m really hungry or sometimes three meals if I’m feeling like eating lightly. Not a bad deal for about $ 8.

There’s so much smoke that it’s affecting the customers in the food court. There needs to be a better ventilation system everyone is coughing.

Absolutely love this place. Every time me and my GF are in the mall we have to pick some teriyaki chicken with double meat. Large enough for 2 but we usually make it 2 meals and eat the leftovers once the munchies kick in. If your looking for affordable teriyaki and are in the area defiantly check this out

My friends and I stopped by here after watching a movie and we had some time to kill. It was early in the evening, but not too late, so you’d think that they wouldn’t have run out of anything, right? I decide to order the Philidelphia roll, but the cashier tells me, «We don’t have any of that. Pick something else.» So I decide to get a Spicy Tuna roll. Then she says, «We don’t have ANY sushi! Pick something else.» Oh, now you tell me. Sorry I wasn’t one of the many other people before me that were told the same thing. I apologize. We ended up sharing a chicken teriyaki with rice. It tasted like real chicken, the vegetables were good, and the sauce was good. Not impressive, but decent for a food court. If you’re looking for a quick food court meal, this place will do the job. But if you’re looking for any ounce of quality, then pick something else.

Eh… We stopped into the mall to see a movie and decided to have a quick lunch in the food court. I have friends who swear by Sarku Japan, but I have never had it before. I really just wanted something small and simple. From what I immediately gathered, Sarku Japan is basically known for it’s teriyaki chicken. That seems to be their ‘Big Mac’ or their ‘Whopper’. The price is reasonable and service is mediocre. They make the chicken on the flat grill fresh to order and serve it atop a plate of plain white rice and some veggies. Flavor was bland at best. It wasn’t the worst meal I’ve ever eaten, but it was rather lacking in flavor even for food court fare.

Located in the food court of mission valley mall. I ordered the teriyaki chicken special of the day, which was a reasonable price. They always ask if you want to double your meat. I thought that the portion was fine and sufficed. The veggies are just steamed so they just take on the flavor of what’s next to it. The only problem that I had was the amount of time I had to wait for my food. I waited half my lunch break to get it. Overall –Pros: Good chicken and rice –Cons: The wait if they’re busy, bland veggies

How do I describe the chicken? It’s not necessarily delicious, but it’s addictive! And I always crave some when I walk through any given mall food court. Today, though, I had already eaten lunch but simply wanted a teriyaki chicken fix since I was already in the neighborhood. But, get this, they don’t serve chicken on the side! What in the what in the whooo? So, after deliberating for 3 minutes, I ended up ordering a combo with extra chicken(to split with a friend, I promise). The cashier said that I was better off not using the 50 cent coupon and that I should go with the daily deal. I was like huh? OK, fine. My total was still 7 something. AND she still took the coupon for some unknown reason. You win, Sarku, you win.
