This bacon fest is very difficult to figure out. First, those who purchased VIPs and got there at one probably feel they got there money’s worth. I had VIPs and got in about 1:30. We were able to make one trip around the fest grounds and get plenty of beer and some food samples that on the most part were quite good. I agree that some of the portions could have been a bit more generous. If I could go back and do it again I would have gotten in all the lines for food samples first as quick as possible than done as many beers as humanly possible afterwards. Seeing the lines gathering as the 2 o clock general admission customers came rolling in made us stay longer at this event than planned so to get our money’s worth. Major issues at this event were definitely lack of shade and seating areas. Way oversold and crowded for that venue size. Lack of cold water and other non alcoholic beverages. Lack of signs on many booths not knowing what was available at those booths. Overall I feel my group enjoyed it but it left me wondering did I pay too much for this event???

totally disappointing event. the $ 60 baconfest ticket 6 of my friends and i purchased was quite deceiving. didn’t get the memo that it’d be more of a beerfest than baconfest. which for most people might be cool… but not me, a person who doesn’t drink beer. at all. the concept of this even was magical, but poorly executed. at first i was concerned i wouldn’t get my $ 60 worth of bacon goodness, but was assured by the facebook page that there’d be more than enough to go around. man, they couldn’t have been more wrong. the vendors were not prepared for as many people as there were and ran out of food by 3:30 pm… ANHOURAND A HALFINTOTHEEVENT. that’s kind of surprising considering tickets were sold… so someone knew how many people were attending this thing. we were in the event grounds for 2 hours and got 7 samples out of your supposed 40 vendors. the only reason we got«so many» samples was because our group split up and everyone waited in different lines. man. i am so upset about this, i can’t even think straight and get all my complaints in order. pretty much… you guys screwed up, get your shit together for next year so the people that do attend aren’t as disappointed as i am.

What a rip off … waste of time … waste of money. We excitedly bought 6 tickets at $ 60EACH. When we got there we were extremely disappointed. 1. Everything was outdoors in the burning sun … no covering whatsoever. 2. Each line took about 40 minutes before we got our food. 3. The food was not worth the money! They served things like bacon dipped in chocolate, bacon in chili… just ordinary things wrapped in bacon. What was the worst was that they ran out of food and basically said«sorry we are out» …other booths just fried up strips of bacon and gave those out! We did not pay $ 60 a pop for this nonsense. The beer was at least free but we didn’t drink $ 60 worth of it. The event coordinator or whoever put this together did a horrible job. There was so much hype about this event that was not delivered. We went to the LA bacon fest in February 2013 and that one was amazing. Novel food full of creativity and they had enough for everyone where we left full and content. San Diego needs to learn from them. AVOIDTHESANDIEGOBACONFESTNEXTYEARIFYOUDON’T WANTTOBERIPPEDOFF. SODISAPPOINTING.
